The location of the property is fantastic and is a very short walk to the private neighborhood beach access. I would give 6 stars for the location if it was an option. My family was comfortable in the home although the bunk beds are a bit small for older teenagers. This is a great beach vacation house with multiple outdoor options to rinse off the sand after a long day at the beach. We really enjoyed our week at this property and would definitely consider staying here again when looking for value options.
Great location and view of the beach even across the street from beach. Yard needed to be mowed and the dish washer did not work. Very comfortable inside and plenty of room for our family. The neighbors were very friendly.
If your looking for a place away from the crowds this is the place to be.. We were their on the 4th of July we expected crazy crowds due to the 4th but hoped for less.. It was very pleasant and not crowded at all.. We were there with our grown children. The house was ok, it just needed some repairs and some updates.. I am fairly certain they had started updating a few things .. The master bath is great .. huge shower and jetted tub..
We have been vacationing on the panhandle for years and wanted a bit more privacy and space on the beach after several trips up the coast in the Destin to Panama City area. This house on the forgotten coast was such a treat. Beautiful views of the ocean, easy access to the beach and so much privacy. And, dog friendly! Our family really was able to get away and enjoy our time. A bonus, this house is right around the corner from one of the best, hidden gems in terms of seafood, Indian Pass Raw Bar.
The house was what we expected it to be, but we chose a 4-star review because, while the location and modest space is exactly what we expected, there could be some upgrades to make this a 5-star property, and still be affordable. The appliances and electronics are all bargain and could use an upgrade or two. The upstairs area, while a wonderful suite, lacked wastebaskets, and the master bed was two twin frames combined to hold a king mattress, which had a raised corner. With so much beautiful deck space, the chairs were cheap plastic and, in the case of the one adirondack chair, snapped broken. On windy days, you worried about them blowing away. Again, a very simple solution that I hope the property owners address, because the house is just a couple of simple upgrades away from being a 5-star gem.
We loved this property. It was as described in the listing, everything was very clean and there was plenty of room for 4 adults & 2 dogs. It was a quick walk to the beach access and all the neighbors were great. There are a few that look like full timers that have dogs so if you bring a dog that is reactive to barking just know there could be other dogs nearby that like to bark when they see other dogs. It was only a 5 min drive to The Indian Pass Raw Bar, which I highly recommend. The beach was empty most of the time when we went the first part of May. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking pots , plates, etc. but was lacking in any other things like seasonings, extra garbage bags, paper towels etc. so pack accordingly. We loved the key pad check in/out so we didn't have to travel to the property management office for keys. My only complaint was the downstairs bedroom, that was used by an adult couple, only had a full size bed that was very soft. We kept rolling into each other and had no room to move. I would suggest the owners upgrade to at least a queen since there is another room with bunks for kids. And the light switch's in the main living area were very confusing, labels would be helpful.
