This property was absolutely perfect for our week in Poulsbo. The beds were comfortable the huge porch and yard were great for visiting and playing yard games, and the communication with the owner was fabulous.
House was just as advertised! It was clean, beautiful, and relaxing! We loved having coffee outside on either the small patio attached to the bedroom or the deck around the house. We had an absolutely wonderful time in the area while making this out home base for a few days! Would gladly rent from again!!!!
We stayed so we could visit family in Bainbridge and our daughter could come up from Olympia and visit. Great house, so much character and everything we needed. Comfortable beds and didnât need to bring anything really.
This property was absolutely beautiful. Cozy and relaxing to hang out in together, eat late breakfasts, and play games. It's definitely out in the woods, but that added to the charm and the atmosphere. I'm a pillow hog and there were plenty for everyone, and I wish I could have spent more time in that window seat- it was such a perfect cozy nook. It would be an awesome house to come back to for a week of reading, relaxing, and art.
Beautiful home! Super great house, clean and the floor plan worked out really well for our group. Very spacious inside and out. Close enough to grocery store.
Carls home was exactly what we needed. We were in town for a family members funeral and estate settling. This was an emotional time and Carlâs kindness with adjusting days was so truly appreciated. His communication was perfect. The home was exactly what we needed during our down time. The window seat and porch along with deck were where we spent most of our time. The woodwork is amazing. The house was plenty big enough for our 6 adults. Plenty of linens, fully stocked kitchen and extra blankets for those chilly mornings on the porch:) Thank you Carl!
We had a family wedding to attend in Kingston and this home was perfect for us. It was so comfortable with enough space for all of us to spread out. The covered porches were great to still be able to enjoy the outside but stay dry since it rained most of the weekend. There was everything we needed and more, I didnât want to leave!
Beautiful house and grounds! The home was clean and had everything one would need to be comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful.
Communication was great and access to the house was easy.
Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home.
Loved staying at this property! Our family gathered to celebrate the wedding of one of my sons at the nearby Kiana Lodge. This home was beautiful, and had everything we needed for our extended weekend stay. Highly recommended!
Wonderful quiet and secluded home. Very peaceful. Nice clean home with all the amenities you need. Host if available if you want, but also sensitive to not disturb your stay.
This is a great house for a family stay. Remote and small road to get into, but worth it if you desire somewhere with the feel of being in the middle of nowhere with amenities within 15 minutes. Poulsbo is a picturesque town with dining and shopping options. This house's photos don't really do it justice!
This is a very nice house, well constructed and maintained. It is a little off the road but once you find it you will be rewarded. Note that most of the road is unpaved but very passable. If needed we would gladly stay here again.
My girlfriends and I totally enjoyed our stay in this huge comfy home in the trees. We enjoyed all of our time here and didn't want to leave!!! Lovely shady walks each day among the trees, blackberries abound! Large yard and wrap-around porch with many chairs. Close to Poulsbo and Port Gamble. Home was well stocked to make our stay perfect. Thank you Carl!!
We attended a wedding in Kingston. We bought fresh fish and cooked it on the grill, played cornhole, drank wine, and had a wonderful time. The kitchen was unusually well appointed. I have used many VRBOs. This was absolutely one of the nicest. Quiet, and surprisingly well located for exploring Port Gamble, Port Townsend, even Bainbridge Island over to Seattle.
The woodworking throughout this house is extraordinary. It looks like a finish carpenterâs labor of love. Even the lamps are hand-made. Be aware that the house is down a 3/4 mile long gravel road - your car will get dusty. Also, not all the neighbors keep their places as spotless as our hostâs place.
The home provided ample space throughout and it was well supplied with all the household items one needed. We were on the go so much we didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of the outdoor games, but did enjoy a campfire in the back one night. As the property is about .8 mile off the main road, the serene and quiet environment lent to a relaxing stay. Carl was quick to respond to any communication sent his way. Thank you, Carl, for providing a clean and beautiful home.
The house was just beautiful and so comfortable! We brought my 92yo dad and our kids ages 5, 3 and 2! Everyone enjoyed the stay! It was like walking into our own home with all the small details there (shampoo, hand soap, laundry, dishes, board games, toys for the kids)! It was very quiet and private and very relaxing! VERY CLEAN! The house was spacious with plenty of room for 88yo grandma's walker. The lawn games were really fun! Three full bathrooms was perfect for our large group! We appreciated the extra blankets and pillows in the closets. Overall we will be back next year for our annual family trip!
Our family trip âhomeâ to the Seattle area with an elderly parent was made much easier by staying in this home! Not only was it easy to cook and enjoy the local sights, but we had plenty of fun games to keep us occupied during down time (our go to was the cornhole!)
The space is very family friendly, with a single floor living option on the first floor if anyone in your group has trouble with stairs.
Apple Maps had no problem finding the location, and the host was prompt and available as needed / if needed.
Our only disappointments were that the master bedroom has a queen bed and not a king bed (I didnât read the details closely enough, itâs listed correctly!) and that we didnât end up with time to have a fire outside! We had fabulous weather so the outdoor decks and spaces were put to great use.
Oh - and I wish the top viewing floor was available to use; but the balcony on the second floor was still a great âhang outâ and morning yoga spot.
Weâd definitely stay again!
I have lived in Washington for the last 30 years. I built the Foxglove house and my shop in 1991. We live on the property, near the shop, which is about 200 feet down hill from the house.
Kitsap county is within easy access to Seattle, Olympic Peninsula and many small towns. I chose this property for its beauty, privacy and access to community.
