My two children and I had a relaxing and fun stay at âInto the Wildâ. The only caution Iâll give is the driveway! I was able to get up the driveway in my Jetta but not without the gravel chipping some of my paint. 4-wheel drive is really a necessity for the driveway unless you really like the adrenaline rush and donât care about your paint job. Lol. Other than that, our stay was peaceful and perfect!
The house was the perfect size for our family of 6 (three children and three adults), however, there is not much else on which to brag. The children enjoyed the basement game room immensely but the addition of a sitting area (and TV) would make it more comfortable for onlookers. There were not enough towels or dishes to support a family of 6 without washing them immediately after use. The house was not clean. The oven was filthy and there was an old french fry in the warming drawer. The floor had not been adequately vacuumed, especially under the beds or other furniture. The toilet in the master suite ran in 15 second cycles of off-on incessantly. There are only a few channels on the provided Direct TV and there is no Wi-Fi and sparse cellular service so we could not spend as much time relaxing in the house as we had planned. The house could be an excellent, off-the-beaten-path mountain getaway with some improvements and deep cleaning.
We were given great directions on arriving and accessing the cabin. Plenty of room to spread out and make ourselves at home. We really enjoyed our stay even though it was a little bit of a drive each day to the activities we had planned. The turn around for parking, so you can pull out when you leave, could be extended a couple of feet, so you didn't have to see-saw back and forth to get turned around. It worked and all is good.
The cabine is easy to find , we use the direction provided and the GPS at same time, the GPS gives us the right instructions.
The cabinets inside is nice and spacious.
Some porminors may can have attention of the owners: the meals table is to smal for a six people family, the bed on the master bedroom needs some upgrades to. For the barbque lovers and outside meals the cabin just ofer a small charcoal grill, the balcony around the house is amazing but completely empty, just two bounce chairs. One table and benches would make the space much more welcoming for those who like to enjoy the outdoors.
The basement were we can find some games like pool, soccer table and tennis table also need some attention!
Very quiet location, exactly as photos showed. Would like to have Wi-Fi but cell service worked fine. No TV in bedrooms but we survived! Would stay again
It would have been nice to know sooner than 2 days before the trip that 4 wheel drive is best for the drive way. There was no wifi and the satellite tv was only maybe 12 channels. They should also add a hot tub on their lovely porch. The cabin it's self was clean and had the essentials.
I was nervous about reading how the driveway was steep. It had rained the whole time we were there. My suv made it up the hill just fine. It's nicely tucked into the woods. It was very quiet and the kids enjoys the game room downstairs. The trips to Gatlinburg and Pigeon forge didn't seem as long as it took because the scenery was so beautiful on the way. We purposely got lost.
This is a GREAT cabin the ONLY issues were the stairs are a little iffy and the dryer doesn't dry well at all but other than that this is a great place for a family!! It's very secluded qith nice little hiking areas we LOVED it and will definitely be booking there again!
This cabin was very clean, and very cozy!!
Some suggestions I have are to add a TV to the master bedroom, more dinner plates are needed, (family of 5, and had to run the dishwasher after each meal, because not enough of plates, or sponge to wash dishes by hand) the ping pong net is broke in the game room, and the basement would be so much cooler if you added a sleeper sofa and tv down there!
Overall we loved this cabin, and do recommend it!
It is a very spacious secluded cabin near Cosby TN. It is about 30 minutes to gatlinburg TN and maybe 20 more minutes to pigeon forge. You need a 4 wheel drive to access property. I think you could manage it with a AWD SUV. We enjoyed our stay.
