We had an amazing time. This cottage is in the Gila National Forest. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife while sitting on the patio. The tennis courts were really nice and that was fun. The atmosphere was so relaxing. Just what we needed. Shirley and her family are awesome hosts.
Everything was perfect from check in to check out. Shirley, Marty and Brian were so welcoming. My dog had lots of room to run and had a playmate with their dog Bailey.
This was a great space for two people. Very spacious and all we needed. The backyard has a full size tennis court with a nice view. The pellet stove kept us warm at night! Love our stay here.

Perfect Studio apartment with everything you would need. This studio is exactly as listed and perfectly located so you can experience and explore Gila NF. I wouldnât look for any other options next time I plan to explore Gila NF.
I stayed here with my husband and two pups, and we were blown away with our experience! The cottage itself is incredibly well-built, well-kept, and beautifully decorated. Everything was clean, pristine, and smelled fantastic. The location was awesome, too, with plenty of recreation opportunities nearby. We were greeted with wine and homemade bread, and the host was easy to communicate with throughout. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone staying in the Gila National Forest area!
Cottage was great. I showed up to a fresh loaf of homemade bread and bottle of wine. Cottage had everything i needed, was there for work and exceeded my expectations. Quiet, comfortable and Shirley and her husband were the nicest people. I will be back soon. Thanks, Cory!
My wife and I loved the property and the owners. We felt welcome in the cottage from the moment we made the reservation and then later when we moved in for a few days. The cottage was decorated in wonderful detail and personal touches. You can feel the love that went into this property. Each nook had something interesting to inspect. And the stained glass by the owner highlighted everything! The appliances were small, but complete. They were perfect for what we needed on a long weekend getaway. Each night my wife and I spent sitting around the firepit talking about life. It was nice to drop the digital screens for a few days and actually talk with each other. However, the WiFi worked perfectly for my Zoom doctor's meeting and I was able to take a glimpse at the golf tournament from time to time on the satellite TV. We fished at Lake Roberts and hit a local restaurant for some pie. Silver City is an easy drive from the Cottage where we went antiquing and grabbed a microbeer on a lovely Saturday afternoon. The biggest and friendliest asset of the property were the owners who were perfect hosts. They are great people with interesting lives. We enjoyed seeing them if we needed anything or for a friendly chat. They also gave us our private space when we didn't need anything. I look forward to returning in a few months when we need to escape the desert heat. The weekend is one of the fondest times my wife and I have had.
There are no words to describe this host or the property. If I could give a 10 Star I would. First Shirley and her son Brian were like family by the time we left. They shared their beautiful yard complete with setting areas, and their sweet dog Bailey. Both made sure more than once we had everything we needed and were comfortable. Our dogs were able to check out every inch of their property all without a leach, loving it. The cottage was very relaxing and comfortable. their property was so relaxing and quiet. Coming from Phoenix we loved having screen doors so we were able to have a breeze flow through. We will definitely be returning!
Looking to explore near Gila Cliff Dwellings, then this is an excellent choice. Hiking trails literally out the back gate or drive a few miles to check out some great trails. Cliff dwellings are less than an hour away with lots of trails along the way. Great hosts with Brian being an amazing ambassador for the area. Thanks to Shirleyfor the homemade treat on arrival.
