We had a great few days. The house is large, comfortable beds, clean, nice and close to Mt Abram and an easy quick drive to Sunday River for skiing. Enough place to relax and play games as well as all eat together as a family. The driveway was nice and big which made turning really easy so we didnât have to back out. Thanks for sharing your place.
My family and I stayed here during MLK Jr. Weekend in January 2025. In total, 4 adults, 4 teenagers, and one child stayed the weekend. We even had 2 other family members stop by for dinner one night. Plenty of room for everyone. It is a quirky old house with abundant charm and character, which we all enjoyed. Did I mention it is about 1œ miles down the road from Mt Abram and about 20 minutes from Sunday River? We plan on staying there again.
We had more than enough room for the 6 of us here. The young adults enjoyed the game room after a long day of skiing Convenient to Sunday River. I packed a case of water but did not need it thanks to the water cooler. Shut out to their amazing plow driver for not plowing me in while we were out in the other car
What a wonderful home and host. Location was with in 15 minutes from Sunday River ski resort. A memorable trip with friends and my son. Woukd definitely stay next year
So close to everything. Walking distance to many activities and a short drive in either direction to a variety of functions for everyone in the family to enjoy. The Gem Museum Is a must and Discovery light house boat tour in Portland is great for the entire family.
House is very close to Mt Abram but we are Sunday River people. SR is 15 minutes away.
House has a fun game room, plenty of space and lots of bedrooms.
Old, charming house. As a house from 1850 it has some flaws, which the owner has compensated with impeccable service. I don't see what I could complain about.
Lots of hang out space. Cozy bedrooms with comfortable beds. Great game room. We loved listening to old records. Just down the street from mt. Abram and close to Sunday River and God xc skiing. Great stay. Thanks so much.
This is a great property for groups with lots of space to spread out. The game room was a fun plus and is separate from the family room, etc. so lots of activities can be going on without interfering with each other. It has a basic kitchen but functional. Good location for skiing access.!
the house is very old, but worked out for our big group.
it is indeed a VERY OLD house, but it has 3 bathrooms and 5 bedrooms, and specious living room, where we all could get together comfortably. So for our big group it did work. It's a short ride to Sunday River, and you can walk to Mount Abram, where we took a nice hike. There is no dishwasher, but that for our group it wasn't important (could be deal breaker for someone).
We stayed at the property over the Presidents day weekend. The house is very large and everyone had plenty of space. We enjoyed listening to records, playing cards and cooking in the new kitchen. Itâs only about 15 minutes to Sunday River. Our only regret was not staying longer! Note, that the house is rustic-if you are looking for the Marriott keep scrolling. This is a unique old home and it has some old home quirks but we loved it! Thanks for having us. See you again!
My husband, kids (10 and 15), in-laws and two pups LOVED our stay over the 4th of July weekend. As others have stated, the home is older, but it a quaint comfortable way. The main bathroom was recently remodeled and we had the benefit of being the first guests to use the updated kitchen!
The game room was amazing! Kids went the whole long weekend off phones and video games...by choice! They are now convinced we need a bumper pool table!
There was plenty of room for every one...and then some. The home is well stocked with everything you need to just kick back and relax.
For dog owners, the beach down the road does not allow dogs, but there is a spot right across the street where you can hop in the water, launch boats, kayaks, and paddle boards.
Would absolutely stay here again. Such a great experience!
The Brookside house was a very unique and fun place for us to stay, the record collection was a plus! It was easy to find and a great spot to get to Sunday River for skiers and walking trails for others. Lots of unique rooms and plenty of room for people to stay and hang out.
Our home accommodates multiple families comfortably. Home has 5 bedrooms all recently painted and 3 full baths. Double living room with two large couches and large flat screen TV for watching the game. Large eat-in kitchen and dining room for big family dinners. Fun game room with bumper pool, darts and thousands of 45 records/albums and record player to bring you back in time. Our family has been creating memories in this home for 20 years, come up and enjoy with your family!
We are walking distance to canoe, kayaking and boating rentals. There is a stream for trout fishing in our back yard. A great local market and cafe, the Local Hub located across the street which serves up great food and local craft beer.
