This house was great for our family of 7 adults, 2 Children & Dog, with plenty of extra space. Kitchen was very spacious, table sat all of us with ample room. They have a big fire pit & Hot Tub that we used every night & a large dock that we fished off. (Fishing was great)! Would def rent again!
We booked this property to have a getaway weekend with friends. There was plenty of beds and space! Everything inside was clean and comfortable. Jim was great at answering any questions that came up.Finally we wanted a place on the water, all we had to do was walk across the street!Would absolutely book again!
One of my favorite stays. The house is perfect for a lot of people and there is so much to do at the house! The pond and hot tub were two of the best perks. Definitely recommend.
Stayed here for a long weekend at Sunday River. House was great, close to everything, bedrooms are larger than photos make it seem, tons of room for all of us and our ski gear. Great communication as well. Would def come back!
Our first rental cancelled a month before our Saturday, and luck was with us when the previous renters for this house cancelled and we were able to snag it! The kitchen is probably the best we've been able to get. We are a large group and there was plenty of space for everyone. 2 fridges is brilliant! The large table was great for meals and games. The rooms were clean and the beds were good with nice bedding. I thought they were comfy, some in my group said too firm. All the towels were good quality, and there was lots of hot water! The house also supplied beach towels with was super convenient. We super appreciated the patio with the hot tub and fire pit right there! Many great memories made. The pond is shallow for a long way and a little reedy, but we had great fun in floats and kayaks. There is a loon nest nearby that we were asked to and happily stayed at least 150ft away from, because the nesting pair had an egg! All in all this was an amazing location and Jim was a pleasure to rent from. It's in our list of return destinations!
This was a great location for our out of state family and friends to gather and celebrate. Spacious, clean and quiet. Both the care taker and property owner were ready and willing to help if needed.
Property was perfect for our weekend get away with our group of friends. Jim was very helpful and attentive to any needs we had during our stay. The Property was well kept and had everything we needed. We also had direct access to Songo Pond, which was fabulous for the beautiful weekend we had!
This place was great for our big ski group. There were plenty of beds for our whole crew and great hang out areas in the kitchen and living room. The hot tub was perfect after a long day on the slopes. Will definitely come back again next year!
The outdoor space is amazing with the fire pit and hot tub! The kitchen gave us plenty of space for sharing meals and playing games. We splashed and floated in the pond.
This place provided plenty of hand soap, dish soap, trash bags, towels(bath&beach), toilet paper and paper towels. The in house laundry was a major plus with the pond right there!
Overall we were very happy with our stay!
The Pond is clean and refreshing. The House is in a great central location to visit many places in Maine. I wish we had 2 weeks as we didn't make it to the Coast this time. We'll have to go back.
A well-outfitted place, convenient to Bethel and the White Mountains. We were five adults, but the house easily accommodates more than twice that many. The large kitchen, dining table and living room would provide ample space for a larger group to gather. The lake is bit shallow for active swimming, but the water was refreshing and canoeing was pleasant. The owner, Jim, is pleasant and accommodating.
My friends and nephews decided to book a last minute ski trip and Jim's accommodations opened up right in time for us. It was perfect for our needs. Nice big foyer to take gear off prior to entering the house, big kitchen table for us to all eat together, plenty of lounging space for us to play games, and very comfortable bedding. We also booked this for the jacuzzi, but never got to use it because we were so beat up from the mountain, we got lazy, but it is a huge plus to have that available. This house can also accommodate pets which was a huge requirement. The house is far enough away from the main road and provides a safe space for the pups to run around. Lastly, Jim is very communicative and really helped ensure the check-in process went smoothly. The periodic check-ins throughout the stay were appreciative. Overall, a great host and a great stay here, and would book again. Highly recommend!
Great house, clean upon arrival and the owner Jim is very responsive and easy to communicate with. Plenty of room and beds for our party of 12, and the hot tub was much appreciated after a long day of being outside in the 7 degree weather. WIfi worked well, washer/dryer were also useful to have between multiple days of skiing. About 15 minutes driving time to Sunday River. Very happy with our stay and would book again for a similar trip
Our favorite part of this VRBO is it easily accommodates large groups and the pond access. I grew up vacationing on this pond and it never disappoints. Jim is quick to respond to any questions and he has done some nice updates with appliances and internet. We'll be back I'm sure.
We stayed here for my buddyâs bachelor party weekend. We had a big group of guys, so having 10 beds was great. The location is great, just a 5 minute ride into downtown Bethel. Nice pond directly across the street from the house too! The communication with the owner, Jim, was excellent and his caretaker lives in another house on the property, but you didnât even know he was there. Overall great experience, will definitely book this house again in the future.
I would like to say first that the owner was incredibly responsive and helpful, even giving us a local garage to take care of an repair need for one of our vehicles. Plenty of space for everyone in the house. Hot tub was pristine. The dock on the pond sunk a bit, but didn't impede usage. just a gorgeous view on the pond. Close to markets, stores, and restaurants. A good experience for our family staying here.
This home is close to Sunday river. It took 15 mins. It was has a large kitchen area which is great for my group of 10 people. Hot tub was nice and someone cleaned it every morning. Plenty of dishes, pots/pans, cutlery. Only thing it needs more are bigger spoons for soup. Thank you Jim !
12 of us stayed at this home. Everyone loved it.
We had a toddler, 2 pre teens, 3 teenagers and the rest were adults. There was enough room for all of us. The beds upstairs were very comfortable. The beds in the 2 bedrooms downstairs were not good...that was my only complaint.
The location was great, however the GPS did not work in the area. Make sure you print out the directions. We did so much in the area and never had enough time to use the pond.
We loved Sunday River, lots to do even in the summer time.
You must visit Step Falls not too far from Sunday River, absolutely beautiful falls.
Will I rent this place again? You better believe I would.
Whenever I had a question, the owners were a phone call away.
Thank you for letting us use your home.
Again, we all loved it.

Jim's house was wonderful for our weekend ski trip. We had about 10 people staying in the house and we were all able to sleep comfortably, with lots of extra room. The kitchen was large and perfect for cooking for a large number of people. The hottub was also great after a long day on the ski slopes. There were lots of towels and linens available. The house is about 15 minutes away from both Sunday River and Mount Abram and about 8 minutes from Bethel. It's a great location and Jim was a great host. I highly recommend it!
I am a family guy... a skier, a boater, a sports aficionado. There is nothing more important than family and friends. I appreciate sharing moments with family and friends together, playing cards, or swimming in the lake... hiking, or skiing. Sitting around a firepit under the stars... The Bethel community is full of great people, places, restaurants, and recreation. That is why I visit Bethel... and why you should too!
I bought this abandoned summer farmhouse in 1995 because of my love for skiing, and my desire to have both a ski house, and a lake house. No doubt, I had no idea what a labor of love I was getting into! Ask me about the day I tried to jack up the old farmhouse in order to pour a foundation underneath it... I'll fill you in on how this house, built in the year 2000, came into being!
