This house was well equipped with everything needed and had plenty of space. We appreciated the use of the canoe and kayaks on the river. The location is perfect with a great view. People should be aware that both bathrooms are on the first floor while 3 out of 4 bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. We had elderly family members with us but they were able to stay in the first floor bedroom so it worked out fine for us. The first floor bedroom is almost like a separate suite of rooms. Communication with the host was great as well!
Location was good. Some part of the house was not cleaned properly. Also the wifi was not working properly. I asked the host about this 5G network wifi password. And he has only one answer that the password is on the router. That password was not actually for the 5G network. Also the tap water was stinking so much.you cannot drink that water. I messaged host about this issue, and he said itâs well water not city water and nothing can be fixed. The last thing was we put our all the clothes in the washer and then we realized that all the washer liquid was empty. Then early in the morning we went to the nearest store and bought the liquid.I messaged host he eve did not reply back to my message. I do not recommend this place. I am also uploading some pictures of our conversation and empty liquid.
Great location! The house was very large and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and the communication was great. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
Nate was very helpful with recommendations for places to try and provided great details to make our stay great! We loved this spot! Great place to enjoy a peaceful morning on the deck and cocktails by the fire pit at night. It was so easy to put the kayaks/canoe in the river with plenty of river to explore. It really is close (walking distance and by river) to beautiful Au Train Beach. Close enough to Munising and Pictured Rocks to take in all the activities there and come back to a quiet spot at the end of the day. The house was well stocked and had all the amenities we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
Large house with plenty of room for 2 families of 4. The house has everything you could need. Check in was easy and Nate provided us with points of interest to visit and recommend places to eat.
Great place to stay! Only 10-15 mins from Munising and 1/2 hour to Marquette. Nice, quiet neighborhood and right on the river. Just across the highway from the beach. Super easy check-in and checkout. Owner gave good recommendations for places to eat. Really fun stay!!!
Our family of 8 stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! The setting is idyllic - we made use of the kayaks & canoes most evenings, the kids could walk to a local shop for ice cream, and we could sit on the back porch and watch for wildlife. The master suite on the first floor is huge and includes a sitting room with a view of the river, which I very much enjoyed in the mornings. Nate was so helpful when we needed a recommendation for a place to go to dinner for a birthday celebration, and also went out of his way to return something we had left at the house. We would stay here again when we return to this beautiful area!
Enjoyed the snowmobiling and easy access to gas station and trails with the sleds, the large yard for the kids to play in the snow. The place was very spacious and well equipped with everything that we needed!!
Had a great time with my husband and 2 teenagers at this spacious and comfortable home. The home was well stocked and beds were very comfortable. The best part was getting to launch the owner's 2 kayaks and the canoe into the Au Train River and make the (maybe 40- 60 min one-way) trip to Lake Superior and Au Train Beach. Au Train Beach is a beautiful sandy beach and Lake Superior is swimmable bc the River flowing into it warms it up. Great location with quick access to Marquette and Munising. Fun trips to Pictured Rocks, and Presque Isle. So much to do in the area we ran out of time. Would love to go back next summer!
The house is spacious, comfortable, and very quiet. Communication with the owner was excellent. The house has a/c, a great porch overlooking the river. There was no dock but access was fine for kayaks. Very cool paddling opportunities! The house has well water so we brought our own drinking water. A fire pit and picnic table was a great place to hang out. Drive to Marquette or Munising was easy. Lots to do.
Wow!!Let me start of be saying Nathan was an excellent host.He was able to go over everything at the house and in the area.House waswonderful located around everything. The beds were comfortable kitchen fulled stocked with supplies. We were even able to go for icecream at the end of the road in the evening and watched sun set.Extra bonus firewood on hand along with 2 kayaks and cxanoe..Highly recommend!!
We had an excellent time. The house was comfortable, kitchen well stocked and there were nice touches everywhere. We greatly appreciated the two nice kayaks and the canoe, all of which spent a lot of time on the river. We hope to stay here again.
Nate was fantastic as our host for this property. He gave me helpful hints and his communication was excellent.
The house location was the best, it was a very nice house and plenty of room in a quiet neighborhood.
We had a A++++ stay and definitely would recommend renting this place again.
Nate is a gracious host, even providing restaurant & activity recommendations--site concierge! The property is lovely & quiet, the beds comfortable, & common spaces perfect for family gathering. We enjoyed kayaking/canoeing the Au Train River. Highly recommend this property. Thank you, Nate!
Nate was extremely accommodating and helpful through our stay. This house is the holy grail for families. The main floor has a primary bedroom with a small room located within that was perfect for our newborn. There was so much to do in the area, and the area superseded our expectations. The kitchen is well stocked, and there is a convenience store and restaurant within walking distance. The best way to unplug!!!
We enjoyed our stay in this Au Train home. It was convenient for us to reach our pontoon boat rental to view Pictured Rocks on our first day, and worked out well to make a driving loop chasing waterfalls on our second day. In addition, we were able to use a few of the homeâs amenities such as the kayaks for getting out on the water behind the house, and the fire pit to relax with friends and roast sâmores. Nate, the homeowner, was very helpful with suggestions for things to do as well as places to eat. We enjoyed our stay.
Six family members enjoyed three great nights at this spacious and pleasant house on the Au Train River. Nice views of the river from most windows. Beautiful decor as well. A well stocked kitchen which we used every night for dinner. Kayaks and canoe available for use with an easy put-in out back. We also enjoyed the fire pit one evening. Very convenient to Munising and Pictured Rocks. I'd love to return for a longer stay to explore more of the area. Really nice three days in Au Train.
Location is perfect. House was clean and had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. Kayaks in the garage were a bonus. Host was friendly and commutative. Neighbors were nice, owners of the store nearby were nice, good area.
Pictures do not do it justice. The property was beyond our expectations. The house was very spacious along with cranes that wanted to dine with us. The house was well stocked with essential household items. Kitchen utensils and place settings were enough for the eight people staying at the house. The edge of the backyard was beautiful and overlooked the Au Tran river with a bald eagle sharing our view on the opposite side of the river. Lake Superior was within a 15 minute walk. The only down side is that we are particular on our water and the water from the tap had an iron taste to it.
Les points forts : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
Les points faibles : Communication
Difficulties
First I will say Michigan is beautiful. The home was in a great location for all we wanted to do. Having the Kayaks and canoe was wonderful. The space for our family of seven was just right.
Now for the negatives. Cleanliness was an issue. Both bathroom showers were dirty, Light bulbs were out throughout. The coffee pot worked some times and sometimes it did not.
Communication with the owner was difficult. I had not heard anything from Nate so I attempted to contact him one week prior to our arrival. The number I was provided did not reach Nate but reached another owner who happened to know Nate. He reached out to Nate for me. I received a call back for directions and confirmation info shortly after that. During our stay I reached out to him again about the towel rack that had fallen off of the wall.( Both the towel rack and TP holder were loose upon arrival). No response until he called me back 2 weeks later. When Nate called me back he accused our group of âripping the towel rack off of the wall, of breaking a âswitchâ in the master bath, and punching âknife holesâ in a bar stoolâ. The towel rack fell off when a wet towel was hung on it. The other items were not broken or tore up by our group (6 adults and 1 -12 yr old). I called him to tell him of the towel rack- why would I hide the other items if they were broken/tore up on our watch.
We had a wonderful time in Michigan, the sour note to the whole trip were the accusations from our Host.
We are from Illinois about 90 miles south of Chicago and purchased this home because of our love for the U.P. and the Au Train River and hope that people will enjoy our home as much as we do
The U.P. has always been a place that we have traveled to snowmobile from the West side to the East side. There is something about the little town of Au Train that captured our hearts over the years and just so happened this is where we ended up buying our Riverview home that now we call home and are so anxious to share
This beautiful 4 bedroom 2 bath home is in a great little neighborhood on its own 1.5 acres and its backyard is flat to the river for easy access of fishing, canoeing, kayaking. The views from inside the house or from the back deck overlooking the Au Train River and the Hiawatha National forrest are nothing short of spectacular.
