Thank you for taking the time to write your review. It’s nice to hear you enjoyed the condo and the location. Yes, some guests seem to like firmer beds. We always add plush toppers to the beds to try to be accommodating to all preferences. I too thought we had good communication, and had I known of your issues I would have done my best to rectify and compensate. Future guests, please know it is our sincere intention to offer an enjoyable and comfortable beach get away! If you do stay with us and ever have any uncomfortable experience, please always feel invited to reach out immediately!! We will always, always do everything possible to make sure you are content with your stay!! Leaving comments only after the stay doesn’t fix a problem when it matters! ***The update is that there seems to have been an issue with the neighbors Ac unit, and fortunately all now appears to be fixed!!

Hi Suzanne, Thank you for taking your time to write a review. I too enjoy that our complex is so close to the beach, boardwalk and restaurants! The complex is an older ‘beach bungalow ‘ style building., and is just as is shown in the recent images on this site. While the building is not new and modern, I’m not aware of what would have been in disrepair, but I will investigate and bring whatever I find to our HOA’s attention! Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. I am so happy that the condo was a great fit for your family of four. We are also a family of four, and the condo is a perfect fit for us as well. (For those reading, the condo can accommodate up to 6, if a second person sleeps in the double bed , and the single sized sleeper love seat is used. I recommend that just up to 5 adults can fit comfortably.) Thank you also for noticing the stocked kitchen and quality bath towels! (I buy new, fresh fluffy towels each year and really appreciate that they were enjoyed and noticed!! I also love your idea of a drying rack! There is little extra space, so perhaps a fold up drying rack that can be set up in the bath tub, or by a window with a towel or plastic tub under it? I will problem solve and add right away! And finally, thank you for trusting us to provide a nice vacation home for you and your family. I hope you will always feel welcome to come back to stay.

Hi Deb, Thank you for your 5 star review. I appreciate your comments, and will look into the air vents! I actually just installed brand new air vents throughout the entire condo when I had the bathroom and kitchen renovated just a couple of months ago. I will make sure they open fully! And, thank you for mentioning the cabinets. I will add handles! As mentioned, the kitchen was just renovated, and it seems some fine tuning needs to be done! I will look into it right away. Thank you also for noting the 5 minute walk to the beach! We are super close to the beach and boardwalk area, right on the corner of 9th and Pacific in the midst of the hub bub! *I actually have always thought of the condo as only a 1.5 block walk to the sand and ocean area! There is the one short width sized block walk from the corner of Pacific Avenue to the corner of Atlantic Avenue, and then right across Atlantic Avenue are all of the ocean front businesses and hotels! But, distance wise, there is a walk from Atlantic Avenue to, and across the boardwalk to get to the beach, which could be considered a short block as well! :) I am relieved to know that a fan took care of the noise you heard from busy 9th street, and am so sorry it bothered you before the fan. I thank you for mentioning the noise that can come from 9th street, as we really want people to make an informed choice of where they want to stay, and understand our location! We REALLY ARE IN THE MIDST of the Atlantic Avenue/Board walk 'resort area' (boardwalk/beach area) which is super busy in the summer, and we are on a corner of a main thoroughfare! The wonderful news is you can park your car for the entire vacation, and walk, or even bike ride or trolley to the beach, boardwalk, restaurants, night time street entertainment, the amusement park, arcade, shops, the convention center, various stages for concerts and beach music, etc.... It is only really toward the off season (beginning of September through mid May) that the area quiets down. And, yes the kitchen is a thin galley type kitchen, but fortunately full size with a dishwasher, microwave, full sized oven and all of the conveniences! The A/C issue is news to me, and I will research this a bit! I know the main vent is in the living room, and one is in the bathroom. I will need to see if one is in each bedroom as well! If so, were vents all open? If not, perhaps the door needs to be ajar for the air to circulate through the apartment?! I have not had that issue before, and will investigate! Thank you for bringing to our attention! As for the tv, we use Cox Cable for our tv channel package, HBO, and wifi, but we don't have a satellite dish. My thought is that the storm temporary knocked out the local wifi & cable, either to the area, street, or our complex. I am hopeful that channels and wifi were up the next day and that Cox Cable was right on it?? I always make certain guests have all of my contact information, so I hope anyone who stays will always feel invited and welcome to call or text me if this happens! (I will then call Cox cable immediately and see what the scoop is, and if perhaps just a signal needs to be sent to the router to get the cable up quicker !) Hi Mary....I'm so sorry the condo wasn't what you had hoped it would be. The condo is in the middle of the fun boardwalk area on Pacific Avenue, which is busy and can be noisy, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Please, future guests, read the comments and make sure you realize that the condo is on a busy corner in the Va Beach Boardwalk area! (The plus is that the location is just a block to the Boardwalk, beach, restaurants, etc!) Thank you for letting me know about the repairs! Fortunately, a loose towel rack and broken(?) cabinet door can be easily fixed! The newish (2 year old) mattress in the master bedroom does have a soft 'foam' top but, it is firm and a personal preference. Future guests, please note all the mattresses in the condo, are enclosed in protective plastic casings that are sanitized (!!!) after each stay, then covered with a soft bed pad and then cozy, fresh sheets! And, future guests, please note that the photos are current and much of the living room furniture is new and fresh! As for Netflix...since the summer rental season is only 9-12 weeks we have never added a Netflix account to the property. But, along with the upgraded cable channels and wifi, we do have HBO, and of course a good ol' DVD player! :) Let's see...kitchen! The kitchen is what you see in the pictures! After 9-10 years of condo ownership, we had actually planned to have new counters and cabinets put in this spring! But, with all of the uncertainty due to covid, had to halt moving forward until the fall or winter. I think the 'chunk' on the kitchen counter mentioned may be on the side ledge area above the new (again about 2 year old) dishwasher? The installer made a good size chip and took off some of the front veneer when it was installed. He did patch it...but, not very well! (I told him not to worry as new kitchen counters were on the horizon!) But, in terms of outdated, the kitchen really has what you need, a microwave, dishwasher, well kept pots & pans, etc. For now, it is a ‘beach bungalow like’ kitchen, and not fancy schmancy! (*see photos!) (When those new counters and cabinets are added, I will add updated photos!) Well...I don't know what else to say...In almost 10 years, this is our first unhappy review. I am disappointed to know that there was such disappointment, and feel a great sense of responsibility to offer a clean, cozy vacation home. I do always go above and beyond to give that little ‘extra feeling of care’ to guests, a number of which return year after year, after year. (Thank you...) Future guests, I hope you read ALL of our reviews, and look at All of the photos, and ASK ME ANY and all of your questions about the property! My wish is that you will feel informed, content and happy with your stay! Mary, I hope your vacation still brought you much joy, and happy memories!
