Great stay! Owners were nice and met us there and helped us via Whatsapp to figure out a time of a cafe opening when asked. 1 shower was broken and couldn't get fixed while we were there (only 3 days, so understandable). Only adding this in case the broken shower continues. Great location for an authentic experience. We didn't cook there, so we can't add to that aspect. A/C was great in July!
We spent a whole week in Athens at this property, and for the most part, had a great experience. There are some learning curves on the systems (A/C, hot water, appliances) in Europe when you're not used to it, but that's completely understandable. The hosts were fine, not particularly friendly but responsive to our questions. They often seemed accusatory in their responses when we asked questions, but that could certainly be a cultural difference. The layout of the space for a large group was great. Plenty of rooms, beds, and bathrooms. The kitchen and appliances were lacking for anyone needing to cook (we have an allergy in the family so had to cook a bit more than usual travelers might) but we made it work. The neighborhood is not touristy which was great, but also we were met with a lot of odd looks and stares from residents in the area. Overall, the space works great for a large group and for that I'd recommend it to others.
The property is very nice, plenty of room for 4 couples and 1 single. A/C works great. I think you need to have a better coffee maker, toaster and more larger cups to drink with. The ice situation was a challenge every day. The restaurants, coffee shop and bakery are very close and nice. I donât think the neighbors really wanted us there, not very nice.
The apartmentâs location was a short walk to the Metro subway as well as some amazing restaurants. It wasnât located in the city center so it was more quiet and away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to the Metro for easy transportation to/from.
The location of the apartment was in a quiet neighborhood and was walkable to a small grocery store and a few restaurants. We used Uber a lot to get around to other parts of the city and that was very convenient. The apartment does have other residents and they do not want any noise so I would definitely not bring a rowdy group or small children. The owner was very responsive and gave us a late check out to accommodate our Ferry time which we appreciated. The view was absolutely gorgeous, the pictures did not lie.
The property is beautiful, and accessible by elevator, six floors up. The view is exactly as shown in the photos and is spectacular. It is near to many attractions and services. The deck view is spectacular. The gentle breeze and pleasant temperatures in (summer) mornings and evenings, makes it great for breakfast and unwinding. Sunsets are heavenly.
It was spotless and generally pleasant for food prep, dining and sleeping.
One area that needs attention, however, is the hot water. There was none, which made showering quick and simple since it didn't matter which way you turned the fixture, you got the same temperature water.
Given the overall quality of the experience, along with Athens' simmering temperatures, however, it was more of conversation piece for our group rather than a deal breaker.
The driver hire by the property management didn't know exactly where the property was, so there was some walking up and down the street to locate the property, during which time we were assailed by an angry neighbor who shoved a complaint into each of our hands, which clearly spelled out that we were NOT welcome, we were NOT guests, and that we should leave. The flyer also went on to malign the property owner as not belonging to the neighborhood, only some foreigner looking to make money. This cast a pall over our entire visit, some family were scared for their safety as the flyer made clear we were NOT welcome and should leave.
Yannis, who was waiting for us only shrugged the flyer off, clearly he was quite familiar with this practice, and he didn't care. Yannis impatiently showed us around the house and could not get the stove to work.
The master bedroom shower does not hang well in the holder, which is loose, and falls on the person taking the shower and spraying water everywhere.
The chairs in the dining room effectively are on three legs, which means if one leans even slightly in either direction, the chair threatens to fall over. Seat cushions don't stay on the chairs as their straps are mostly broken, probably from previous guests falling over in the chairs.
Ironically, after the angry neighbor's flyer spewing hate for foreign visitors and accusing us of bad behavior and noise, we heard loud music on Saturday night through the entire night.
The AC worked.
The property description perfectly describes the unit. We had a lovely stay. The views are truly wonderous and the outside patio was a great game night spot! Beds are comfy and AC works great. The small challenges we faced was: cabs didn't like coming up to pick you up at that location (we didn't try UBER so maybe that's a better alternative), the stairwell is lit by individual floors so sometimes it got dark in there and we had a tough time figuring out how to program the dry cycle on the washing machine to dry the clothes. We would hearitly recommend the unit and would return without hesitation. Thanks for a lovely stay!
View of Athens was spectacular as advertised. But, the negatives overrode the view and the claim of an "Exclusive" apt. The manager was not on-site at the check-in time, although he had been texted 1 hour before we arrived as requested. When called, he said he would be there in 1/2 hour but it took almost 1 1/2 hours after check-in time before he arrived. This caused us to miss our 4:45 tour costing us $464, which he barely acknowledged. The beds hadn't been made, which he finished (sort of), leaving one of our group to make up her own bed. In the house tour, he said that the dryer didn't work, and we would have to use a drying rack (small) like most Athenians. The advertisement definitely didn't mention that-and 7 passengers just getting off a 9-day cruise couldn't fathom hanging our underwear off the balcony, despite this being the local custom even if it was feasible. Another problem was the hot water. The apartment uses solar to supplement the electric, but we were supposed to leave it off most of the time. But for 7 people, solar was insufficient to handle our hot water needs. The resulting cold showers were not appreciated; electric heat became a necessity. Would not recommend for families with small children or seniors. There are random stone steps in the apt. and dining chairs that have only 3 legs. Both of these resulted in several falls and bruises.
Spacious, neat n tidy ,view from dining,Living and front deck was absolutely spectacular!!
Quiet building, close to what we were hoping for, corner market down hill from this apartment was fantastic and owner and staff terrific and helpful!!
We walked up Labbiticus Hill and monastery look out from apartment in cool of evening and spoiled by lights of the whole city below!!
Our group of 56+enjoyed all immensely but to each his own in todays overly critical society!!
The property is spacious, very well-maintained, and in a quiet neighborhood. The view from the apartment is stunning, and offers a panoramic scene of the city of Athens. It was an amazing place to explore the city from, far out-of-the-way for it to be quiet and restful in the evenings and close enough to get into the city without an issue every day. I would highly recommend it for someone wanting to see Athens not be overwhelmed with the noise of the inner city.
We really enjoyed our stay in Athens and this apartment met all our needs. We were a party of 7 adults and there was room for all of us. A driver was available when we needed, and Uber worked really well also. We felt at home in the large living space and the view was incredible.
Thanks for a great stay. I would recommend this apartment.
Our family stayed here in April for a few days in Athens. We enjoyed the views and hanging out on the balcony. The listing was accurate and it was easy enough navigating the buses and metro from the apartment. It was a nice walk/hike to the top of Lycabettus Hill too.
Loved the layout of the apartment with a big patio. The view was awesome of Athens. Our host so helpful in getting a taxi for us coming and going to the airport as well as any other questions we had. We had a great experience.
