Second time staying at Honokeana Cove, but different unit this time. The cove is the main draw of this location, fabulous snorkeling even during the hurricane. The reef is healthier and more colorful here than in nearby beaches. Easy entry from left side. The grounds are impressively clean and well-maintained. This unit itself is dated but comfortable for what we needed for our stay. Kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of towels and paper supplies. Would definitely come back to Honokeana Cove again for a third stay. Thanks for a fabulous stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent choice! Our condo was clean and well maintained. Maintenance man Ray keeps the grounds picked up, and well groomed every day, and if we needed anything he was there for the asking. The office crew was great too. The view is exceptional, just like the picture. We went floating and snorkeling in the cove water and were treated to sightings of fantastic sea creatures. An overall exceptional stay!!

Awesome view and property

Views from property were superior and just the right size. property manager was extremely responsive and helpful. The turtles in the cove and snorkeling was very good. Would stay again!

Our graduation celebration at the cove!

The 2 of us had been there 3times and knew they would love the cove for snorkeling and seeing the turtles and fish. We all explored Maui and it was a wonderful experience together.

We had a wonderful view of the cove and ocean, and loved snorkeling and seeing the fish and huge turtles! Our condo was well stocked with everything we needed, including a cooler bag in which we packed a lunch for our drive to Hana. We enjoyed walking to the Gazebo Restaurant, as well as a beautiful beach to the North. I would highly recommend this property to friends! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable trip. We hope to return someday.

Love this place!

We have been here several times, and have always enjoyed the peaceful tranquility; however, this trip was not so tranquil. Young children were up and running around the property at 6AM, - toys in the pool, playing "ball" games on the grass, etc., none of which is supposed to be allowed. Is there any way to put a minimum age of 10 for children?

Waking up to a beautiful view every morning!

It was a great experience starting from the night we got in. We arrived after the condo office was closed which made me nervous however there was an envelope waiting for us near the office which contained keys, maps, and welcome letters! The unit was beautiful and super clean but it was the morning sunrise that sold me on this unit. The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning. I would recommend this place to any of my family and friends.

Magical times

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented at the Cove several times over the years and always come back. It gives us the low-key, oceanfront experience we love. Access to the cove for snorkeling is one of the main attractions for us, as well as the magnificent views of the surf crashing beyond the cove and the whales enjoying their winter retreat. This time, we had Unit 213. It has a fabulous view. Downstairs bedroom has twin beds (a bit small for adults) and the upstairs has a queen. A comfy couch gives nice seating for four or five. The dressers could use replacing, but overall, the unit is in good shape. The bathrooms with large walk-in showers appear to be a recent addition—much appreciated.

Condo 213

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great big family trip and had lots of fun. We rented 3 different units. The quality really varied from each place. The upstairs bathroom for the main bedroom of our place has a really bad layout; the toilet sits in front of the sink and only one person can be in there at a time. Most things in the unit need to be updated, many things need to be replaced or cleaned out - too much stuff in every drawer, cupboard, closet. Loved the property & location but I wouldn't rent that condo again. The property manager wasn't very friendly but he diligently did his chores everyday.

Review 40 years later

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 40 years ago I visited with my mother and learned to snorkel. After traveling the world snorkeling The state of the coral here and other beaches in Maui was disappointing, although I enjoyed the turtles. The condo was very nice although the carpets were dirty. The difficulty in turning on the tv and the wifi was frustrating. The wifi didn't work for 4 days and the front desk said I was on holiday so shouldn't get on line or watch tv. That was not helpful. There was no list in the condo of local restaurants, or recommended snorkeling sites and boats, nor any list of other things to do, such as the butterfly farm and bee area. That is always helpful. Given the extra charge for cleaning I think the cleaners should have emptied the garbage.

Aloha Patricia, The office did send up our handyman the first day you said you could not turn on the Tv or Wifi. We always encourage our guests to enjoy the beauty of the Cove and Maui rather than to watch TV or be online. If you were still having problems we wish you had come down to the office and let us know. You must remember that these are private condos and not a hotel with a concierge desk. Our many many repeat guests come to enjoy just the Cove and do not venture beyond the Cove. New guests will do their research prior to coming on activities and popular eateries and snorkel spots. But, they will never find a better place to snorkel than at the Cove. i apologize for the carpets; we have been so busy, it is hard to get carpets cleaned with our many many reservations. The carpets have been scheduled in the near future to be cleaned. The extra charge for cleaning is for sterilization after departure due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. We are not a hotel and do not provide for daily trash removal or maid services. I hope that you will, not take another 40 years to come back to Maui. mahalo, su

Great Location on Maui

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cove is a beautiful for swimming for even the novice and other water activities. My issue is each condominium is owned by a different person and the overall cost is based on the size of the unit. Our unit was one bedroom with a loft. We didn't need the loft but it was the only option available. The owner of our unit didn't upgrade the unit or put any investment into making it more comfortable. The towels were old and very used. We were there 10 nights and no cleaning of the unit or extra sheets or towels for a long stay. In other units they had this small amenity. We were paying $400.00 a night and it would have been nice if there was a cleaning mid stay. Other condos have cleaning and towels cleaned and sheets in 4 days. If you get a unit (no way to know) with the guidance of Campo, the manager, who helps the "regulars" get the renovated units it would be nice or they should lower the fee for the old units that are not cleaned unless you stay 2 weeks. The location is good for restaurants and there are 3 barbecues but the kitchen is electric and not very functional. The workers cleaned the grass every morning and that was good. You are expected to take out your garbage. I am not a snob but for $400.00 a night - I expect more attention and a better unit. The kitchen chairs rolled and were a poor choice in my opinion.

We are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with your stay. I am happy to report that our property is under new management, and we have undergone a lot of positive change. We have all new towels and linens that are much better quality. We are also happy to report that we have all new office staff available to assist you with your future bookings to ensure you get a condo that is to your liking. We still wont offer trash service, unfortunately. The onsite dumpsters are the best options to keep pests and critters at bay. If you are visiting our property for 14 days, you will get a maid service on your 7th day, however, fresh towels and linens are available upon request. We have an onsite residential manager ready to address any after hours maintenance issues. We hope you consider visiting our property again to see the many improvements we have made.

It is well maintained, has private ocean access with some of the best snorkeling on Maui. There are turtles, fish and if you’re lucky you may see a small octopus in the cove. You can’t go wrong staying at the Honokeana Cove!
