Grandma's house was a great little place to stay for Independence Day weekend! It was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed for the weekend.
The location of the property was very convenient to access beaches and shops and a quiet neighborhood. The house is feel like staying at Grandma's house. Nothing funcy, but you have everything you need. I brought 3 large dogs and they enjoyed at the fulled fence backyard. The neighbor's friendly dog came by the fence to say "Hi!!" It might sneak out from the fence if you have small dogs or escape artists, but mine was totally fine, and loved it.There was a hot tub in the backyard and was full fenceed, and so relaxing. The communication of the owner was very quick and friendly. We enjoyed staying "Grandma's house
When we opened the door at Grandmas house we felt like we had returned to our childhood. The only thing missing was a pot of roast beef on the wood fired stove. We enjoyed our time. We came to relax and enjoy watching our two dogs run in the fenced yard. It rained and rained but we played games, did puzzles, and relaxed. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
My husband and I came for a long weekend with the dogs. It was our second time staying here and it did not disappoint. Great location, comfy lazy boy chairs, awesome yard and super nice neighbors! Canât wait to come back!
Had a very nice time at Grandmaâs house. The house the perfect place to spend a days away with our dogs. Even with the rainy weather, we were able to be snug inside. The house is stocked with pretty much everything we needed. Just purchased our groceries and we were good to go. Beds are computer and hot tub is very nice. Walkable to beach and lighthouse. Just a couple of notes: we noticed that some of the outlets were only 2-prong instead of 3 and because of all the rain (had some good storms come through) the end of the driveway is pretty much a lake. But, we considered it part of the adventure- lol. We would definitely recommend and would definitely revisit.
Such a great place to stay, so close to a beautiful beach and so close to everything in town. Also, very handy for charter fishing and a hot tub to come home to. Worked great for our dog as well. Highly recommend.
Nice central location for beaches, fishing, National Parks and tourist destinations. Used the equipment provided and caught a dinner of dungeness crap for dinner one night!
The hot tub was perfect to unwind in
Grandmaâs House is a perfect name for it. It felt like my grandma was just in the other room the whole time. We stayed here for our winter on the coast. We would go out to the beach or the wharf in the late mornings, have lunch, get cold and wet, stop at the grocery store on the way home, dinner, games and screens, and then a dip in the hot tub.Itâs very much a snug home with its own personality; donât expect plain, fashionable hotel accomodations. Perfect for our family.
Grandmas house was a lovely weekend getaway! Perfectly located, cozy house that was well equipped, awesome firepit and relaxinc hottub. Thank you for sharing grandmas house and be apart of maming new memories!
The house is exactly as described. It is older, comfortable, and clean. It was a great place to spend a week with our two small dogs enjoying Westport. We will stay again.
We enjoyed our time at this property. The home was so welcoming to dogs and the large fenced yard worked well for us. The hot tub was a nice treat after a fun day.
This is our 3rd stay at Grandmas, and each time it gets better.
Grandmas is a lovely place to find peace of mind and location close to shopping and outdoor activities. We hope to vacation there again next year.
We are Shawn and Rene Tobin. We live in Startup Washington on the way to Stevens Pass. We love vacation houses and stay in them when we travel. We started out buying our first house in Westport when we adopted our 2 youngest children many years ago. We needed a place to stay when we came to visit grandmas Glenna and Beth. Our family just did not fit in a hotel room anymore. We decided to rent the house out when we were not using it to make ends meet. We found a property manager to rent it for us but they went out of business. Rene decided to manage the house herself and discovered she really enjoyed the job. We love sharing Westport with others and helping people make vacation memories!
This house is owned by the Tobin Family. Shawn Tobin grew up living with his Grandparents Earl and Elizabeth Brown in this house. Years ago we made a deal to buy Grandma's house from her while she lived in it. Shawn wanted the house to stay in the family and he wanted to help his grandma out with a little extra bingo money. Earl was a commercial fisherman with his brother Ed and Elizabeth worked in the canneries. Shawn's mom Glenna worked in the hospitality industry and his sister Mickie worked at the shipyard. Other family owned and worked Cranberry Bogs. Shawn spent his childhood riding his bike around Westport playing in the woods and at the beach and developed a love of nature that led him to work for parks. Rene grew up in the suburbs of Seattle. Her parents loved the beach and family vacations seemed to always led to the coast.
Grandma's house has 2 bedrooms with beds set up to accommodate one or two couples or a family with kids. The house is very pet friendly with a fenced yard. Everything you need for comfort and convenience is provided. Meals are easy in the well stocked kitchen, there is a full bath and washer and dryer. We have provided bikes and helmets for just about everyone and a firepit with wood too. And last but not least there is a private hot tub.
