We had a great time at Edâs! It was super comfortable, the fire pit was awesome, we used the bikes to ride into town on the path along the dunes and the host was awesome about communicating. Canât wait to go back! The beds were comfortable too!
Good place for us to stay. Close to what we are doing. Some of the dishes in the cupboards were not clean, so I gave it a little elbow grease and cleaned them.
This older home has plenty of space for a reasonable price. Itâs very private and cozy, with lots of outdoor space also. Understand that it is an old building, with old wood. All my guests enjoyed the charm of the creaky wooden stairs. We absolutely loved it! Short walking distance to the grocery store, coffee shop, several restaurants, and a bar. And yet, it has so much privacy that you donât realize it until you wander out of the yard. I felt very much at home there in my big, comfortable king size bed.
This home is a very comfortable place to stay with family especially when your family includes dogs! Both very kid friendly and dog friendly. Everything is provided for an easy stay. Great communication with the host. Reminds me of my grandparents cottage. Really enjoyed reading about Ed's story. How wonderful his legacy lives on!
This is our first family vacation that we all got to go on together and come to Westport. It was amazing. We love the house and being able to have everything that we needed was great.
The house had so much character and room. The granddaughters loved the upstairs room. I was really happy that there was a small bathroom upstairs - so nice that we didn't have to share a single bathroom. The fenced yard was great for our dog too.
This is our second stay. The first time it was just me and the husband. This time I brought my sister, brother, child and the dogs. Everyone for without being on top of each other. The kitchen has everything you need. We struck out crabbing but still had a great time. As always, the hot tub was the star of the show. We will be back again
This place is just right, not all foo foo but rather down home, very comfortable and homey. 6 stars on the 5 star scale for us. Great landlord and cleaning/mtce staff and nice location.
We simply loved staying at Ed's. The house is located on an end street ao no through traffic and therefore less worried about grandkids playing. They have stocked the house witb so many things that you forget to pack. There was deer in the yard, firepit for smores, hottub for relaxation. We cant find one bad thing to say. Close to beaches. We will be back. Thank you so much!
Surprisingly large home, that has a lot of history that is displayed throughout the house. The main floor has a good sized kitchen and the main bedroom with a solid mattress on a king sized bed. The upper level has larger rooms with the angles of the roof as the ceiling, but it gives it great character. We loved how much room there was and especially loved the easy-going nature of the owners whom we were able to communicate with very easily. We enjoyed having the hot tub and even though its a settled part of the town, there was a lot of privacy due to the nature of the street and the trees and shrubs. It was hard to figure out the lights when we got there in the evening so just beware that this IS an older home and the lighting is there, but you gotta kind of look and find switches and lamps. There are minimal outlets, but we were able to find enough to make it work for charging our devices.
The heating system was something we hadn't experienced before, but there are multiple vents in the walls that have their own switches you just turn on as well as a main "electric hearth" you can turn on as well. Once we got these up and going the house was very cozy and warm. You can easily walk a block to the grocery store and a coffee shop.
Overall very happy with our stay. Would be great even for a larger family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edâs.
We were able to really relax because of the ownerâs attitude about dogs and kids and the rustic nature of the house.
The decor inside is historic Grays Harbor, and thereâs a really cool article about Ed, which we enjoyed. The property was rich with history.
I would have fully given five stars, except for an Internet snafu that made it a little difficult to check in. The owner was very gracious, and did refund part of our fee for the money.
We would absolutely stay here again and expect a second state have a five star rating.
We rented this house for Christmas and it was perfect. Prompt response to a couple questions and around the corner from everthing. We loved it so much we have it rented for 9 days in July.
Weâve stayed here twice now. Itâs perfect for our family and for activities at the beach. The tvs were upgraded this time and it was appreciated!
Thanks!
The directions to the home were exactly as stated. Checking in was a breeze. Once inside we discovered a cozy, warm sweet home. Lots of space, large kitchen area, inviting beds and of course the hot tub. I didn't need any assistance from the owner but she had been easily reachable throughout and quick with response. There is EVERYTHING you could need or want here. Appliances, pots and pans, coffee maker, plates all the usual but also bikes ( and helmets) crab pots, games, toys, videos and the coolest old time record player. ( bring your vinyl đ). You are close to do many things to do. The marina, beaches ( bring your discover pass if you have one for the state parks) food. I will definitely be back here. LOVED it all. PS we were also spoiled with the best weather mid October you could ask for - sunny and mid to upper 70's
It was a nice little house!
The only thing was the last person didn't pick up after their dog. But otherwise it was a nice stay. Of course wish we could have stayed longer.
Edwin Brown bought the home with his wife Della and raised their girls Pam and Edwina there in Westport. Ed was a commercial fisherman, a golfer and a fixture of the community. He was even Mayor for a time. Ed passed away in his 90's in 2012, His daughters wanted the house to stay in the family so gifted it to Ed's Great Nephew Shawn Tobin and family. The Tobin's are a busy family who sympathize with how hard it is to find a great place with space and amenities for the kids and pets.
1500 square feet fully stocked home with a large yard. Ed's is very pet friendly with a fenced dog yard, pet beds and dishes. Ed's is perfect for a family get together with comfy beds and the basics covered, full kitchen, bath, washer dryer, and also lots of extras to make your vacation simple, toys, sand toys, books, smart TVs with Roku and lots of games too. Last but not least, a private 2-3 person hot tub just outside the door.
