Linda was quick to respond. And offered tremendous flexibility in checking in. So friendly and helpful. The location was incredible. We were able to go in and out without leaving the old town. Big bathroom. Very clean. Plenty of blankets and towels. We did laundry during our stay. Great AC!!!Would stay there again.
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
Very loud neighborhood
The room is quite small but it was new and clean (though the hot water didn't work particularly well). But the neighborhood was incredibly noisy until at least 4 in the morning, right outside the ground floor window. Impossible to sleep! (Not to mention the man who stripped naked on the street in front of my wife as she went to the local market.) We had to move to a hotel after one night of a mult-night stay. Asked about a partial refund, didn't hear back on that.
The host made check in a breeze and greeted us warmly when we arrived. The apartment is gorgeous and the location is unrivaled. I highly recommend this spot for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the Old Town experience.
Everything about the apartment was wonderful. We were a family of 4 with ample space. Communication before and during the stay was prompt and the location was spectacular.
The place had everything we needed. The air conditioning worked and that was the main thing. The location was awesome because it gave us the ability to escape the midday heat by going to the apartment to cool off and then continue our exploring of the tower.
Wonderful apartment and wonderful host! Location couldnât be better; youâre close to everything. Apartment has everything you need and an amazing view of the Stradun. We would definitely recommend and would love to come back one day.
Absolute bast place to be right on the Stradun for new years eve!
We had a great time here. Kate was wonderful in meeting us and showing us around. Enjoying the new years eve festivities and concerts on the Stradun from the comfort of the apartment was just fantastic. And they even provided drinks and Champaigne! Everything was just perfect.
We had an amazing stay at Ivo snd Kateâs apartment. Kate was the consummate host - delighted us beyond our imagination.
We highly recommend this place.
The only downside was the surprisingly high parking cost - $80 per day, but the city and accommodations far outweighed this detail.
This apartment is in the very center of the Old Town. It's bigger than we expected for that location. You can open the window and look right down onto the main street (great for people watching as you wind down). There are definitely stairs to get up there - so be ready for that. The host met us there to give us our key and answer any questions that we had. She was extremely nice and helpful - we would definitely stay here again on our next visit!
We stayed at Kate's place in Dubrovnik with a 1.5-year-old for 4 days. While it was just enough space for us, it was in a perfect central location right off the Strada within the old city walls that allowed us to easily walk to everything we wanted to do. It is up several flights of stairs and does not allow for vehicle loading/unloading which is normal when staying in an old city like this.
The unit itself was clean and quiet while the windows were closed. Kate made sure it was well stocked with everything we needed for the duration of our stay and was communicative and available for a smooth check-in and check-out
Upsides: right in the heart of old town! Very clean and as advertised. Though above the main drag and an Irish pub, with ear plugs the noise was very manageable.
The owner (grand daughter of original tenants) met us when we arrived and was as lovely and charming as could be. Highly recommend staying.
Downsides: a few floors up narrow staircase and you have the schlepp suitcases up. Also air conditioning was just on or off and could definitely have been a few degrees cooler (esp in main room).
But overall a great spot and would definitely go again.
A cute apartment on the main street of old town therefore everything is walking distance. The apartment is very clean and well furnished. Nothing is missing from towels, to an outlet plug converter to ground coffee and tea bags. Even though the apartment is located on the 3rd floor [no elevator], the water pressure is great.
Maro greeted us outside the wall of Old Town and helped us to bring our luggage from the taxi drop-off all the way inside the apartment!! On Saturday, Maro allowed us to leave our luggage in a safe storage location on the same level of the apartment allowing us to enjoy the city prior our flight. As we were leaving Maro went out of his way to meet us and help us to bring the luggage down the stairs and up to the taxi line - Such a gentleman! Thank you again đ
We're in our 70s, so wanted a central location (to swing by for naps if necessary!)
A few things to share if you're going.
Kate is a lovely host and willing to do what is necessary. Just call or text.
Safety in Dubrovnik and certainly at this property is not an issue.
No cars incl. taxis, are permitted, so be prepared to walk.
Be prepared to climb four sets of stairs, the last of which has locked access. And in general Dubrovnik is on a hillside so lots of stairs.
Remember that the unit is sound proofed - while there is an Irish Pub immediately below the rear window, closing the windows and turning on the a/c makes for a beautiful sleep.
The rooms (there is a separate bedroom) both overlook the Stradun, with impromptu views like the marching band!
There is a decent sized fridge, a two burner stove top, MW, and a clothes washer. And a jacuzzi tub!
We did not turn on the big screen tv, but presumably it works.
wifi works very well.
The location is fantastic!!! -- Once you remember the 'sound proofing'
Kate left us a few items that helped us get settled on arriving quite late. Highly recommend her and this property.
So to be clear. Maro, the owner was great! He met us at Pile Gate and walked us to the apartment. He was friendly and helpful and they even left some complimentary welcome drinks for us which is super thoughtful. The location was perfect in the heart of Old Town Dubrovnik. MY only issue: This is advertised as a 2 bedroom but is not a 2 bedroom. It is a one bedroom with a pull out sofa in the living area (small living room and kitchen combined). In fairness to Maro, in the deep details of the listing it clarifies the layout, BUT rather than explain it in the details, IT really should be only advertised as a one bedroom (as so many other apartments like this were). We needed a 2 bedroom and was one of the 2 key reasons I booked this place. Should I have read ALL the details? Sure. BUT when I saw it advertised as a two bedroom and it had a great location, I reserved it. For a one bedroom this would be a 5 star due to location and host. But it just should not be advertised as a two bedroom.
Wir hatten 2 ĂN. Waren 4 Personen.
We absolutely loved staying at this apartment. The location can't be beat - right in the middle of everything, it was easy to get to any place in Dubrovnik old town. People watching out the window to the main street was entertaining.
Maro was great - communication was excellent. He met my sister at the gate and took her to the apartment to show her around.
The photos very accurately reflect the apartment and we were very comfortable there. It had everything we needed. We were glad to have the air conditioning.
The only downside was the three flights of stairs, but it was clearly stated in the listing and we were expecting it. Everything in Dubrovnik has stairs either inside or outside and we were happy ours were inside.
They allowed us to leave our luggage on a locked landing outside the apartment on the last day which was extremely helpful.
I would definitely stay there again - and would recommend it to my friends!
Our flight was arriving early and we had a wedding to get to. Kate was so kind to let us drop our bags early so we didnât have to worry about finding a place to store them. She met us at the property and told us the apartment was already ready for us, which was a nice surprise. We were so grateful to have some time to freshen up before heading out.
Kate was so kind to help us navigate the Old City by pointing out some places that may be of interest, like grocery stores and landmarks, and how to get to them.
The apartment is lovely and in a perfect location to explore the Old City. It is above an Irish pub, so was a little loud at times but it really wasnât a nuisance at all.
Pro tip: The apartment can connect to another unit that could be used for larger groups! For smaller groups such as ours, the door is locked. Good to know for future visits.
Overall our experience was great and the host was really kind. Would definitely stay again.
