Without doubt a lovely property in quiet location. The shine taken off our stay due to way owner handled the breakage of the glass in a picture. We were quite happy to pay for new glass but felt it was unreasonable that she added the cost of her driver collecting the new glass.
I could easily live here. The Monastery itself is spacious without being imposing. The pool is really great; one of the best we have seen. Claudia and Nick were so very chilled it was hard to believe that we were their first renting tenants. They had only been there a month themselves. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.
We stayed for four weeks and frankly another four would have been fab. The garden is private, self contained, pet-friendly (i.e. hound could not escape) and we just loved it. The interior is stylish, understated, save for the quite magnificent 'great room' which is really quite cool.
The nearest decent super market is only five minutes away, once you know where you are going (it took us about three weeks to know where we were going!).
We had a series of friends turn up during our stay and the house was perfect for all. Our kids are 8 and 10 respectively and they had a ball.
It is quite remote (i.e. you would need determination to walk to the nearest bar or restaurant) and you will definitely need a car, but for entertaining at home, with the odd excursion into Avignon, this is hard to beat. The outdoor dining room was really nice.
Mont Ventoux is just up the road and worth a visit. If you cycle be warned. Ventoux is further away than you think and hence it is higher than you think and quite a bit steeper than it appears on the Tour de France coverage. Do not plan to cycle up without being a little bit fit. A 1400 metre climb over 26km will find you out. I speak as a reasonable cyclist who ventured up twice (by car).
On the downside, we did have a few power cuts and we did not always know what to do. There was no manual to speak of (it was their first rental) but there were plenty of fridges and we loved it. I wish I was there now.

Claudia and Nick are English and have been living in France for over twenty years. We used to live in Paris.
This is an exceptional spacious property in Provence, with a vast 90M main banquet hall and fireplace, there is quite simply nowhere like the Monastery in the area - it is perfect for celebrating family events like Christmas, Birthdays etc; and ideal for a honeymoon getaway. Loads to do, wine-tasting, cycling up the Mont Ventoux, antiquing or enjoying the pool with kids.
