If you are looking for a bit of design, space, and plenty of light, and you also want to be close to the beach, then this is probably the house for you. From Villa Africa, it is less than a 400m walk to the beach in Roche, 100m to the local shop and bar, and a little bit further to the tennis courts. The location is ideal for both families and couples, as is the house: a little bit of luxury by the sea!
Built only 5 years ago, it is one of the newest houses on the Roche estate. The clean lines, large windows, and small internal garden, make it quite an unusual beach house for this area, and certainly set it apart from the more traditional properties we have in our collection. There is loads of light, yet the clever design keeps the direct sun away and also any unwelcome “levante” wind. It is a low-maintenance house, and it also has most of the creature comforts and technology that you would want in your own home. This is beachcombing in comfort!
The accommodation is all on one floor, with the front door opening onto a large open living space and the covered terrace and pool beyond. Marble floors, a large white leather sofa, and an old wooden table provide a combination of textures that are cool in the summer yet surprisingly cozy during the colder months. The main sitting area has glass down both sides: on one, the little internal palm garden; and on the other, the terrace and pool. Like the house itself, the terrace is simple yet comfortable and oozing with style: a giant wicker sofa with soft creamy cushions combines with large Moroccan puffs and a modern low table. It makes for a wonderfully relaxing corner, which becomes even more magical at night when the giant white pots and the far side of the pool illuminate!
The kitchen is state-of-the-art, and has everything you will need. The main bedroom wing contains three of the bedrooms, and the fourth (along with the bathroom 3) is on the other side of the entrance hall. The main suite has a large double bed, and a luxurious walk-in shower. And, again, there is an interesting combination of textures, with imitation skins on the floor, a large cork-framed mirror, and an unusual bathroom wall. It makes for a very special suite; you won’t want to get up too early! The two twin bedrooms are separated by the second bathroom (also with walk-in shower), which is accessed independently from each. And the fourth bedroom has a single bed, with an optional extra.
The small garden is extremely well kept, and there is some good lawn space for running around. Outside the kitchen and utility room, there is a back terrace, complete with an outside shower for sandy feet!
