La Villa, qui peut accueillir confortablement 6 personnes, dispose de 3 chambres dont une mezzanine, une cuisine américaine avec salle à manger et salon, 3 salles de bains et buanderie. Le grand jardin, équipé d'une magnifique piscine entourée de rochers et de palmiers, (ouvert de début mai à fin octobre), est le cadre idéal pour des moments de détente et de plaisir inoubliables. Vous pouvez cuisiner sur le barbecue en plein air tout en profitant du cadre enchanteur du golfe de Gaeta, puis déjeuner dans l'intimité du jardin. Le Cottage est idéalement situé à la fois pour des excursions dans le parc voisin des montagnes Aurunci et pour visiter la célèbre Riviera d'Ulisse, avec ses magnifiques plages et les charmants villages de Gaeta et Sperlonga. À seulement 1 heure de Rome et de Naples.
La côte amalfitaine, Pompéi, Herculanum et Capri sont également facilement accessibles.

I absolutely LOVED staying at Casale Poggi degli Ulivi. The house was adorable and the pool was extraordinary. I especially loved the star gazing at night…it was wonderfully romantic and relaxing. The beds were comfy, the grounds were lush and the hosts were lovely. Definitely stay here! I’m coming back!

Fantastic villa and host

We had a lovely stay, Diego was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, and was very responsive. The villa is set in the beautiful mountains a mile or so outside of Formia with an amazing view of the sea and over to Gaeta.I would recommend asking Diego for a pin location to the property because our car sat nav couldn’t find it!

There are so many great things to say about staying here, the location is perfect, the villa is perfect with everything that you might need. The villa is very well located in the mountains but close enough to the coast. Formia is very pretty and we particularly liked Sperlonga with its little alleyways and shops and Geata. Our party learned to windsurf on the beachfront. The villa is lovely. It’s roomy with high ceilings. It’s superbly equipped. We didn’t need anything. There are lots of places to sit in sun and shade and the pool is beautiful. The hosts looked after a flower filled garden and were helpful without being intrusive. I would thoroughly recommend. We wish we’d booked two weeks.

Perfect Italian holiday

A lovely, lovely house - very comfortable, full of character and charm. The location was absolutely stunning looking over towards the village of Maranola, and the magnificent mountains behind - all to be viewed from a little piece of paradise. Not only was the house and pool an ideal retreat for relaxing but it was a great base for exploring and visiting Pompeii, Rome etc. Diego and his parents were ideal hosts - always attentive to any queries and helpful advise for travelling ....and the home grown tomatoes and figs were delicious. Lovely property with pool. You need a car as very quiet and peaceful although not far from Formia. The owner was very helpful and helped us book a great day out to Ponza. Very helpful with information re supermarkets and places to eat and get gelato! Rome was about 90 minutes by train. Great service from Formia. There were great beaches about 30 minutes towards Rome but really didn’t need them as the pool was just gorgeous.

Wonderful oasis

We had a wonderful stay at Diego’s vacation home. The house is set in a beautiful well kept garden. The interior of the house is furnished and decorated very tastefully in a Mediterranean country style. His parents were so nice to give us fresh salad and tomatoes from their garden. Such a sweet gesture. Diego provides a list of recommended restaurants and shops which we wouldn’t have found otherwise and really enjoyed. There are some older cats on the property which are also very sweet and we enjoyed their company on the terrace. Overall we would stay there again. It was great.

perfect Holidays

we were 3 couples and wanted to aspend 2 Weeks in a nice, quiet but luxury environment. Diego and his parents gave us an excellent and friendly start, the house and the surroundings like te pool were perfectly maintained and very clean so that we could feel in holidays shorty after arrival. The location is perfect for short trips, as we visited Rome, Pompeji,, Amalfi and Naples (all within an1 1/2 hour trip) and we also had some beatiful days at the sea in luxury beaches with very clear and warm water. Also in the surrounding we were surprised by some excellent restaurants, Diego advised us. Diego: thank you a lot and greetings to your parents. Surely we meet agai

Unbelievably Beautiful

We cannot say enough about this beautiful villa owned by wonderful people. Diego and his parents, Luigi and Suzie, were absolutely wonderful hosts. We pulled up to this beautiful gated entrance to the villa, which is situated on the mountain a few miles from Formia. The property is full with olive trees, Lemon trees, Lime trees, Fig trees and Palm trees just to name a few. The Villa is a spacious 3 bedroom, 3 full bath, with a large open concept kitchen, dining and living room. There are multiple sitting areas around the house to enjoy a snack or bottle of vino. The pool was a beautiful natural pool carved out of the natural rock, equipped with its own waterfall and pristine clean! The view is incredible as you look down to the sea and the city of Gaetta in the distance. You are in your own private bit of heaven occasionally hearing the church bells resonating down the mountainside from the near by village of Maranola. Diego and his Parents graced us with a wonderful basket of fruits, vegetables, and of course Luigis fabulous olives, all grown on the property. We can't say enough about this Villa and its owners. all we can say is Thank you for making our honeymoon an epic experience! You can not go wrong by choosing this Villa to spend your holiday at. Are you sitting comfortably?

We have been travelling to Italy for 25 years and have stayed all over in all kinds of accommodation. This year we booked Casale Poggio degli Ulivi through Vrbo situated near Formia in the Latina region. The house is spacious and first impressions are imposing, set in a semi tropical garden with mountains to the east and the mediterranean to the west. The host, Diego is helpful and genial. He had to meet us on the road as the Vrbo app could not locate the property. However, we would note the following: 1. Although the water quality of the pool is excellent and the size big enough for our party of four, it is not at all child friendly as it is cut into the rock and has no flat area around it. At one end there is a drop from the edge of the pool to the ground of aout 2 mtrs. 2. Despite having a deep veranda on three sides, by early afternoon, the shade had disappeared. 3. There is only space for two sun beds by the pool for a house that sleeps six, and no shade. 4. The only seating provided outdoors is for dining, there are no recliners and so it became uncomfortable to sit and read, and the only way to take an afternoon nap is to retreat indoors, as the locals do. 5. The surrounding area lacks the charm of Tuscany or Le Marche although Formia is near by and has several good restaurants.

This review is neither truthful nor objective. There is no difference in height of 2 meters on one side of the pool as all around there are retaining walls which form steps which cancel out the difference in height, making it safe. It also makes you smile that a family without children writes that the pool is not suitable for children. We have been hosting families with children for 15 years who have always rated the villa with 5-star reviews. Around the pool there is room for more than 6 sunbeds, available if needed. (Barry never asked for them and always said everything was perfect). The Casale is surrounded by 3 covered patios, if the one in front of the swimming pool is not completely shaded in the late afternoon, you can enjoy the shade under the other 2. I also find it very difficult to evaluate the charm of the Riviera di Ulisse, as the guests never left the villa during their stay. I reiterate that a 2-star rating of the villa is neither objective nor truthful, just read the other reviews.

Superb!

We had a lovely holiday here in the hills above Formia. The house was full of character but with all the modern amenities a family could want, both main bedrooms were en-suite and there was an additional bathroom for the sleeping loft. The house has wi-fi which was a huge bonus. Clean, well stocked for those who want to self cater every day (proper cooker, hob, coffee machine, microwave, BBQ and enough crockery and cultlery to cater for a dozen). It is deceptively spacious, 4 adults and 3 children didn't feel like a crowd and there are lots of lovely outside spaces (3 terraces with dining tables and chairs) which allowed us to enjoy the weather any time of day. The pool is a real highlight, part formed out of the natural rock in the garden and enjoying a lovely view over the hills and village of Maranola. Kids need to be supervised though as it is deep in places. The owners live in an adjacent house but that didnt impact our privacy, the holiday villa is fairly self contained and it is good to know the owner is on hand if ever there was a problem. They were so friendly an welcoming and have lived and worked in the region for years so are full of tips and advice on where to go and where to eat. We were able to sample home grown tomatoes and cucumber, and home made marmalade which were all amazing. Security isnt an issue, the site is fenced with remote control gates and isnt overlooked. Maranola (where the villa is) is a lovely little medieval village with stunning views over the gulf of gaeta and the route up the the christ the redeemer statue on the mountainside above (not for the faint hearted, single car track and then walking). A great base for beaches (the stretch between Gaeta and Sperlonga is best) and an easy drive to Gaeta (go to the broken mountain), Formia (Roman Cisterns) Minturna (roman ruins), Monte Cassino, (the abbey) Pompei, the Pastena Caves, Naples and beyond, all of which we took in on our trip. A car is a must have but with it there is plenty enough to fill two weeks. Highly recommend this villa. In this region of Italy we did find it quite hard to get information about tourist sites (opening times, locations) because it just doesnt seem to be visited by many international touristis which is a shame. Make sure you prepare your days out and know exactly where you are going because the road signs wont be much help! All in all a great trip, lovely villa, great owners which has left us with many wonderful memories.

Superbe séjour

Nous avons été accueilli par Diego et son père Ce sont des hôtes très attentionnés qui ne vous font pas sentir comme étant des clients mais des invités . La maison est extrêmement propre et fonctionnelle . La piscine extraordinaire , le jardin apaisant et très bien entretenu . Même si les propriétaires vivent sur la propriété , ils sont extrêmement discrets et nous nous sommes sentis seuls sur la location . Merci spécial pour le papa de Diego qui nous a montré le marché , les commerçants ou prendre les meilleurs produits . Merci spécial a Diego qui nous a organisé une excursion a l’île de Ponza En un mot , si l’occasion nous est donnée nous y retournerons avec beaucoup de plaisir

Très beau logement dans une superbe propriété. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants mais cependant très discrets. Endroit très calme et très reposant offrant à proximité commerces, restaurants, plages et facilités de la ville. Situation idéale... Rome et Naples à 1 heure de train. A conseiller ! "La maison est situé sur les hauteurs de Formia, dans un lieu très tranquille. Sa terrasse, sa piscine et son jardin en font un endroit idéal pour la détente et pour oublier le stress quotidien. Les propriétaires, qui habitent la maison d'à côté, nous ont accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse et nous ont donnés beaucoup d'informations utiles sur la régions lors de notre arrivée. Durant les 2 semaines de notre séjours ils sont restés très discrets, mais toujours disponibles si nous avions besoin de leur aide. La maison est grande, confortable et très propre. Elle possède 2 chambres à coucher spacieuses avec beaucoup de place de rangement pour les habits et en plus un lit double sur la mezzanine. Au niveau de l'équipement nous avions trouvé tout ce que nous cherchions. Je peux vraiment conseiller cette location !"

Wir genossen im Juli, zwei sehr erholsame Wochen auf diesem wunderschönen Anwesen. Der Pool lädt zum verweilen ein. Der Aussenbereich mit den vielen verschiedenen Sitzmöglichkeiten ist sehr gepflegt. Die Küche ist sehr zweckmässig eingerichtet. Grundsätzliche Sachen wie Gewürze, Öl, Essig, Kaffee, Folien sind vorhanden. Aus dem eigenen Garten durften wir auch die frischen Zitronen geniessen. Die beiden Schlafzimmer mit Badezimmer sind sehr gross und gemütlich eingerichtet. Formia ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt um mit dem Zug in Richtung Rom oder Neapel zu fahren um die Städte zu besichtigen. Diego und seine Familie sind sehr freundlich und immer gut erreichbar. Ihre Tipps in der Umgebung für Restaurants, Strände, Märkte sind sehr empfehlenswert. Ganz ein herzliches Dankeschön, wir werden wieder kommen
