Our Stay was Very Comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay very much. It's always nice to get outa work and be able to relax and cook your own food while living on the road. This property was Perfect. We also enjoyed being able to have a fire outside. (Sorry we Burned So much wood).
I would definitely consider staying Here with my family for a getaway...
Thank you for the experience....
This property is the best of both worlds. The antique post & beam and outdoor amenities bring back a simpler time. The modern post & beam lends all the comforts of home. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the pond, playing ping pong in the basement, and campfires in the firepit. A great place to spend time with family and friends.
I grew up in Vermont but moved away for college and haven't moved back since. I took my family here for a week around my nephew's first birthday party and it is a magical place that includes all my favorite things about Vermont specifically natural beauty, mountains, and feeling a little off the grid.
We stayed Christmas Eve through New Years Day and everything was great at the property. Family members loved the location near ski areas and the feeling of being surrounded by nature while being close enough to grocery stores and restaurants. Property manager was very helpful and updated us on the sanding/plowing of the road during our stay. The house was fantastically stocked for all of our needs. Thank you so much! If weâre headed to VT in the future, we will definitely think about staying here again!
My husband is from Burlington VT originally, though we hail from MA now. Our children gifted us tickets to the Grace Potter concert in 2020, but Covid put that on hold until 2021. We were lucky to find this beautiful property located in Jericho VT, and it met all our expectations. Very clean, well supplied home with room for outdoor living and entertaining. And also has a swimming pond and hiking trails right out the backyard. We hosted an evening with some of my husbandâs HS friends in lieu of the 50th reunion that was supposed to happen. The property was perfect for it as we all ended the night around the outside fire pit. Totally comfortable and well maintained home that has everything you need to make you feel at home.
We stayed for 5 days. Loved the property and the view of Mount Mansfield. The pond was great too - it had some frogs and leeches for those who arenât into creatures! They didnât bother us though! The property is well stocked with everything you need from kitchen stuff, towels and extra bedding. The attached cabin does have a ladder access to the sleeping areas so it may not be ideal for older folks but kids would love it. Kris, the property manager was readily available for anything but we had no issues. We would definitely stay again!
My husband, son, and I enjoyed a glorious ten days at this private and tranquil spot. The accommodations were even nicer than we had expected and the swimming pond, surrounding grounds, and gorgeous scenery made for some restorative and relaxing fun in the sun. And whenever we needed a trip to the store or meal out, Richmond was a beautiful and close option, Burlington when we were feeling more adventurous. 5 stars across the board, canât wait to return!
Breathtaking views from winter wonderland. The lids had a blast sledding all over the property, even down the driveway which mom wasnât too happy about. Wish there was a real radio to use in the house but it was great and all 7 of us had a blast. Located close to everything while still being secluded, beautiful place
We could not have been more happy with our experience. The home was stocked with everything we needed, and we were able to unplug for a much needed relaxing getaway. We loved sitting by the campfire and cooking our dinners outside. Plenty of picnic tables made for fun card games and canoeing in the pond was a fan favorite. We canât wait to go back.
One of the best homes I have rented. Felt so at home. There is room for an entire family retreat with dogs. Amenities were plenty. Space was abundant. Deer were in the yard in the morning. The house is in the middle of nowhere at the end of a dirt drive. Full privacy. All peace and nature. I highly recommend. Bring the whole family. Pictures do not do this home justice, it is breathtaking.
We had a great stay, enjoying spending time with family while we were here. Plenty of room to spread out, play games on the grass, hide and sneak for the kids. The leaches around the swimming pond made us a little squeamish but kids still all jumped in the lake from the dock and enjoyed playing on the paddleboard, and no one ended up with a leach on them. They also had fun using the nets to catch the frogs and other things around the pond edge. The kitchen was well stocked and there were lots of board games, books and puzzles to enjoy around the property. It did take a little while to drive to the property because of its private location but it was beautiful once you got there.
I cannot say enough about this amazing spot. From the pond, to the view of the mountains, to the outdoor kitchen, to the beautiful interior of the main house, this place has everything you could want in a vacation stay and much much more. We had a wonderful time with our family and friends barbecuing, enjoying the incredible setting, swimming in the pond and just relaxing in the splendor of beautiful Vermont. The house has everything needed for a great stay, lots of space, comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, and tons of charming character. It was also really clean and well cared for.
The property manager Kris was incredibly helpful and responsive, answering all our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Kris!!!
I really canât say enough about how wonderful this place is. We feel really grateful and privileged to have had the opportunity to stay here. And we hope to do so again!

Beautiful Property
This was a great place for our family reunion. Plenty of space. A great outdoor area. The kids loved the pond and running around.
It was everything the descriptions said it was. Scott was a great
My wife said, "I could do this every year... for a month!" The kids(7 + 2 spouses) thought I "nailed it" with this pick. That pretty much tells the story.
Scott was an awesome host! Our large group enjoyed his home and the amenities he had to offer. The house was large enough to accommodate our group comfortably. We loved how quiet and peaceful it was at his house. The one thing we enjoyed the most was hanging out by the fire and the pond. The location of his house was a short distance to Burlington. We will definitely stay at Scott's home beautiful home again.
Thanks for the great hospitality! Scott met us when we arrived to ensure we had everything we needed - from floaties for the pond to camp chairs for sitting around the fire pit. . We spent relaxing days playing badminton and soccer in the field, catching frogs and salamanders, floating in the pond and exploring the many acres of forest behind the house. There were toys and games for the kids and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook wonderful meals for the family. A perfect spot for a family reunion!
As one of five siblings, living across the East coast (from Maine to North Carolina), it is a real challenge to get us all together. This year, our family get-away was at Simpson's High Meadow. It could easily accommodate 10 people and a toddler, and gave us all the amenities we could want.
We loved the pond, the outdoor living space, and especially the view! The close proximity to Burlington and other Vermont attractions was great for us - it allowed all of us to go out and "do things" during the day, but gather in the evenings for grilling, campfires, and games. It was great to be away from everything, yet close to everything.
It was a memorable weekend for so many reasons, and I could not have picked a better place!
I couldn't have asked for a better place to bring 11 of my best friends to for a weekend get-away. We arrived to a sprawling lawn, warm but refreshing pond, and beautiful home perfectly fit for a weekend of fun on the lawn, swimming in the water to cool off, drinks by the fire at night, and warm beds for all.
I would highly recommend for any larger group get-aways and plan to come back here in the future
Wow! This was a beautiful and magical setting to spend time with family. We gathered from Toronto, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Vermont to enjoy some time together and relax. Our group filled the house, the cabin and even a few tents. There was plenty of space and we were very comfortable. We spent most of our time outside (except when we were huddled inside to watch the Womenâs World Cup Semi-final game!)
We experienced all sorts of adventures and it worked out beautifully to have folks do whatever they were inspired to do and then meet back up at the property. In the five days that we were at High Meadow we hiked two different trails up Mt. Mansfield, hiked to Preston Pond (a five minute drive from the property), and ran/walked/and biked on the nearby dirt roads! Some of the young adults even found a great place to play Disc Golf! And those are just the off-site adventures we had.
On-site we swam in the pond, played volleyball, cooked food over the fire and spent hours sitting in lawn chairs just visiting and enjoying each otherâs company (and the gorgeous view). We had an amazing time at Simpsonâs High Meadow, and we look forward to going back!
As we had visited here before, I knew what to expect and was excited to share the experience with our friends. We were 3 retired couples. It was a little difficult for the 3rd couple to be on the 2nd floor without a bathroom. It is a retreat from the usual vacation place. Very relaxing, beautiful views, nature all around, quiet and peaceful, just what we were looking for. All had a wonderful time, went sightseeing, leaf peeping, definitely enjoyed Vermont in October.

Originally purchased by Bart and Marge Simpson (really!), Simpson's High Meadow is now run by the second generation and their families.
This retreat is designed for families to relax together. In the warmer months parents can gather around the outdoor fireplace hang-out by the fire or on the dock while the kids play in the pond or the field, all within view. In the winter, the pond can be flooded for skating and there are steep hills nearby for the construction of 'toboggan runs,' while the younger kids stay warm by the outdoor fireplace near the cabin.
