Fantastic location and property! Owner quickly responded when needed. Everything needed for a fun and relaxing vacation on a clear pond with lake Winnipesaukee nearby. Just a short drive to Wolfeboro center for shopping and good eats. Plenty of fun attractions nearby as well.
The Barn is absolutely lovely. I visited Rust Pond as a kid, and this was a wonderful return to a beautiful place. The Barn lives up to its description - well appointed kitchen, spacious, cheerful and peaceful. We very much enjoyed listening to the loons on the lake, fishing, and watching the sunrise. Christopher was super helpful, answering questions before and during our stay. A great host ad check in was smooth and easy. Will definitely stay again next time we find ourselves in New Hampshire!
Rust Pond is a perfect location. The town of Wolfeboro has everything, the pond itself is clean and quiet with no public access. It's only about an hour from the ocean, and there is so much to do in and around Lake Winnipesaukee.
This is a beautiful private location yet close to all the attractions Wolfeboro has to offer.. The family loved the "barn" and Rust Pond. We hope to return soon.
We a wonderful time on Rust Pond in Wolfeboro. This house was incredibly unique, and extremely comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed looking around at all the interesting house features and spent hours in the water on the floats and kayaks. Owner was very responsive to any questions we had.
Our week at The Barn was outstanding! We lucked out with beatiful weather which let us really get the most out of Rust Pond and all that The Barn had to offer. We kayaked, fished, swam, and floated. The house exceeded our expectaions and accommodated our family perfectly as we cooked some delicious meals inside and out on the grill, played games, read and simply enjoyed some quality family time with a peaceful and gorgeous view.
This is a fabulous spot - both the house and the location. Would certainly return!
My only critique would be the condition of the non-stick pots and pans. They're terribly scratched and as we are now aware, that's a health hazard. Luckily, our friends picked up two pots for us to use on their way.
If you're there in the summer, go to East of Suez for dinner!
The Barn was a wonderful spot for a week long family vacation. The owners have maintained the charm of lakeside living without compromising comfort or cleanliness. The house has everything you could need, including nightlights (if you travel with kids, you know how important this can be), and plenty to keep an entire family entertained in case of dreary weather. On sunny days we enjoyed playing in the pond (the stairs off the dock were great - it allowed our kids to easily get in and and out of the water) and the proximity to Wolfeboro, while still be peaceful, is hard to beat. The outside grill was perfect for dinner and the kitchen had everything we could have needed for cooking. Chris provided everything we needed well before check-in, including an up to date welcome packet with listings for restaurants, grocery stores, parks, and local attractions. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The Barn on Rust Point was the perfect setting for celebrating Christmas with our 93-year old dad. The two-story stone fireplace with a roaring fire provided the perfect setting for sharing family stories, putting together a puzzle, and opening Christmas gifts. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare gourmet meals. The sunrise over Rust Pond is a perfect way to start the day. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!
What beautiful home, location and the best host! The house was everything in the photos and more! Very well equipped and comfortable. The location was close to everything. The host was amazing and answered all my dumb questions with patience and more information that I could have hoped for. Even the neighbors were lovely people. I would go back in a minute and hope to next summer.
Thanks Chris for everything!
The Barn is a truly special property. My friends and I had a great weekend enjoying the surrounding area, as well as the Barn itself with all that it had to offer. Between going out on the pond, playing croquet in the yard, or the many late night games of shuffleboard on the second floor, there was always something to do and enjoy during our stay.
We enjoyed a restful stay at The Barn, and enjoyed Wolfeboro! The location was peaceful and The Barn is comfortable, well appointed, and full of character.
Peaceful lake experience close to the action of Lake Winnipesaukee
We had a wonderful stay at The Barn for a week in August. We loved being a five minute drive to downtown Wolfeboro, and the action of Lake Winnipesaukee, but on quiet and peaceful Rust Pond. The house was perfect for our group - plenty of space for all three generations, and a fully stocked kitchen so we could cook at home most nights. We took full advantage of the private dock, the floats and the kayak. Recommend bringing a small net if you have young children, they will spend hours chasing after the bait fish near the dock! Thanks to Christopher for being very communicative and for sharing your home with us.
The Barn was a perfect place to stay. The place was even more than the description. Plenty of room, an amazing Coca Cola machine, lots of games, and water was great! Many days we were the only ones out in the water. Highly recommend the place.
Beautiful, peaceful property with water view and access on Rust Pond. This area is truly a hidden gem. It is close to Wolfeboro restaurants and all the big lake activities but you can escape back to relax. We enjoyed kayaking, swimming and we rented paddle boards from SUPNH for the week. They delivered and picked them up. We also spent the day at Brewster Beach which was clean and a great spot. We enjoyed the trails at Castle in the Clouds as well as a tour of the property. The Millie B boat ride was a highlight. Christopher was easy to communicate with and very responsive to any questions or needs we had. We sure hope to return back to The Barn in the future!
The property is great as is the owner. We had a beautiful weather week, but unfortunately the only single lane road through the neighborhood to the house was being entirely excavated all week. We were unaware of this as was Chris the owner since it was supposed to have been completed 10 days earlier. Several very friendly neighbors confirmed that and warned us to move our cars out at 6AM each day because the rude contractors donât warn you and block you in for 8 hours otherwise. Chris was very upset about this and to his credit rebated part of the cost of my week back. The house is very well appointed and supplied with paper products and cleaning products and most necessities. So you just bring the items you need ,sheets ,food and clothing. Another unfortunate occurrence was the failure of the air conditioner fan halfway through the week which of course again is out of Chrisâs control. The weather was beautiful so we really didnât need it but to Chrisâs credit he had an Air conditioning repairman come out immediately and repair it. If I had to complain about anything at all with the property I would say the beds are very squeaky in all rooms and it appears to come from the box springs. The paddles for the canoe weâre not the greatest. It is a rowing type canoe that allows you r the option put oarlock type paddles in and row or paddle, but there was only one of that type. The other paddle was an aluminum kid size adjustable one that was broken but barely usable. I didnât bother today complain to Kris about this but if I had I believe he wouldâve probably rectified that also. Thereâs bubble hockey and a wooden shuffleboard table in the loft ⊠If I really want to nitpick, the shuffleboard table finish is rough and worn in center and could stand some refinishing to truly enjoy it, but I consider that a bonus item that wou stop me from renting again. I recommend this beautiful home and this great landlord who communicated with me immediately answering every question right from the moment when I first looked at the house online all the way through to the end of my trip! Thanks Chris!
We enjoyed our stay so much in 2021 that we decided to repeat the trip again in 2022. Christopher is always available for questions and makes you feel like you are at home at The Barn. If you are looking to make memories that last a lifetime, you will want to book this property immediately!
This was a perfect family getaway! The Barn is beautiful, clean, well-maintained and was everything we hoped it would be. The stone fireplace was the main draw and it did not disappoint. Excellent job by the owner Christopher in maintaining the home and providing clear instructions. We loved our stay and would absolutely visit again!
We enjoyed our stay on Rust pond at this beautiful home. The views from the house were stunning and the house had lots of space for our two families to play and relax. We spent hours just sitting by big wood fireplace and enjoying cooking in the kitchen. A quick 5 minute drive from downtown Wolfeboro and an hour drive to North Conway. Thank you Christopher & family!
We spent our Thanksgiving of 2021 at the beautiful âThe Barnâ property in Wolfeboro. The pictures on VRBO website can not capture how wonderful this rental isâŠ..better than advertised!! Warm & comfortable, perfectly appointed, we felt like we were in a Norman Rockwell painting. Christopher was a perfect host, quick to respond & accomodate our requests. We canât wait to return!
Everything was great and as advertised, highly recommend it. Just be aware, the beds donât come made and with sheets which for those that are traveling from far it may not be ideal. Host was amazing and responsive and location canât be beat.
