This a gorgeous property-down a bumpy track ( slightly washed away by floods in part and thru two sheep gates). Only 15 mins by car from Alcudia and 25 mins from Pollença and Port de Pollenca- both lovely towns to visit. Tues market in Alcudia âold townâ great fun - do haggle though! House is big enough for two families to be together but also to have own space. There is air-con in 3 upstairs bedrooms- but use sparingly as the house is totally off grid and powered by solar. We had very hot weather at 38 degrees so was uncomfortable sleeping without air-con downstairs at night despite using electric fans. The pool although not huge is fabulous- good shade and perfect temperature. Lots of mosquitoes and ants so TAKE SPRAY as they all bite between 6.30-9.30pm. Also buy citronella candles from supermarket in Sa Pobla. The seating area by the BBQ is particularly bad so eat on the other terrace which has a breeze and a great canopy where the views across the marsh are stunning. There is a dishwasher/ washing machine and all things necessary in the kitchen. The TV didnât work as no signal but could play radio channels. - we went to AlcĂșdia beach. Beautiful busy/ shallow water. But nicest was Cala Vicenç - easy parking at both. ArtĂ is a great town to visit and coast at Cala Ratjada beyond is stunning and good swimming off rocks for teenagers. We went for 10 nights which was a perfect amount to explore the island. The Wednesday market at Sineu also a pretty drive and place to shop.
The villa itself is beautiful and rustic. The house is set away from other properties so you feel secluded and have privacy. The property was very clean. The house has everything you need for cooking and cleaning, including an outside grill which was great. There are two terraces and the one at the back has an incredible view. There is also a lovely pool (which is not deep).
When we arrived, we met the owner Francisca who was there to show us around. She does not speak English but luckily my friend does so she was able to pass the information onto my friend about the house (such as everything is run on solar energy).
My only criticisms were that the owner removed the air conditioning remote controls from the villa. We managed for a few days but decided to ask towards the end of the trip and were told that they were taken to be fixed. We were then given the remotes the next day. We were also not warned by the owner when we got there about the incredibly high number number of mosquitos. I have never seen anything like this, and I learned it is due to the government not treating the mosquito breeding grounds since the pandemic (worst in north east Mallorca). Given the widespread issue, I would have expected her to at least mention this or put some plugs in the house before we got there, and we would have been more prepared from the start. Air conditioning would have at least kept some mosquitos out but we did not have the controls. One of my friends had over 120 bites.

Ca Na Bassera is a wonderful, interesting traditional old farm house and a fantastic place to stay. It is very spacious and has everything you need for a large group with plenty of glasses, china etc and the kitchen is very well equipped. Everything was extremely clean and the shower towels are good quality and large. It was very hot during our stay but we were provided with an extra fan for the kitchen and dining area. It is lovely having two outside eating spaces. It is well positioned for easy access to Alcudia and Pollenca, there is a good market in Alcudia on Sundays and I think Tuesday as well, with free parking nearby, it's easy to find. We tended to go to Sa Pobla for a pharmacy, Eroski & Lidl supermarkets as it is very easy to get to and we also ate in the square there one evening. It is worth checking what kitchen cleaning items have been left behind by others before buying, it's handy to bring your own bin bags to save having to buy a roll

The house is absolutely beautiful. It is in a quiet area with no other houses around. The pool is lovely, two large outdoor seating areas, a huge living room. You have almost all of the amenities needed (apart from soap, condiments etc) and it was very easy to settle in. 3/4 of the rooms have air conditioning. During our stay one of the units wasnât working, but the rest of the rooms were comfortable. We hope to stay again next year.
Pretty house in a remoteâish part of the island.
Everything is there, but itâs all a bit shabby, and not in a chic way. Silly things, like a dishwasher that works but doesnât clean anything well. None of the furniture is comfortable to sit or sleep on, and the aircon is only in 3 out of 5 bedrooms.
The owner seemed resentful of us, when we insisted on emergency repairs as the power failed, leaving us with no lights or water on the first night. Not unreasonable, but this set the tone for our further dealings with her, culminating in her basely accusing our children of breaking roof tiles.
Certainly wouldnât recommend this property, although the area is full of beautiful towns and beaches.

Loved the house, it was spacious and well appointed. Recently renovated I would guess. It has 2 lovely outside shaded seating areas, pizza oven, BBQ and the lovely warm pool and sun bed area. Getting up and having a swim was lovely, eating lunch looking across the countryside in the shade was beautiful. The kids loved the 4 poster beds which when folded out are like mini dens for them to hide in. Having to open and close the gates is a little annoyance but worth it. Recommend you go to the supermarket at Sa Pobla, bit further but quieter, probably cheaper and they have freshly baked bread and goodies. The beach at Platja De Muro is only an 8 min drive and we found parking easy on the right hand side before the roundabout. Formentor is a beautiful beach and if you arrive about 3pm the coaches of visitors from the hotels are leaving and you can have a quieter time on the beach for the rest of the evening. End it all by going to watch the sunset at Cap De Formentor. Worth it, even though

Francisca showed us round and despite us being late, she was very accommodating and thorough. Highly reccommend.â
