We stayed here while visiting Zion and loved the house. It was in a very quiet area and dark enough for incredible star gazing. We would definitely stay here again.
Excellent location, everything just as described in the listing AND as documented by so many other reviewers. Perfect for our 3 day getaway in a beautiful part of Utah. Definitely going back to this one!
It's an amazing place with lots of room to spread out. The house itself is also very secluded and you really feel like you're on a vacation. The location was perfect for seeing multiple places of interest. The property owners are fantastic and very helpful.
We had a great stay! Our host checked in with us several times to make sure we had what we needed. It was a great to have space for our family to relax and enjoy the quiet. We loved having the outdoor space to spend the evenings after the days exploring the parks.
Nice rustic cabin with plenty of room for a stay to explore the area. The host was wonderful and very attentive. Great suggestions for places to visit and eat ⊠very cozy.
Cozy cabin with space for a family. Well stocked and clean. Property provides some privacy and seclusion. Property manager very easy to communicate with
Perfect spot for visiting Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon
This property was very comfortable. The owner was great to work with. They had welcoming treats and greetings, perfect porch to sit out and watch the hummingbirds, and a pantry filled with wonderful herbs and spices for the cook in the group.
One of the best VRBO properties I have ever stayed in. The host goes above and beyond to make sure everything is clean, ready for your arrival and provides an above-normal amount of cooking supplies. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great base camp to explore southern Utah.
Great location to both parks. Very quite home with so much room for everybody. We spent days in the parks and afternoons and evenings on the deck(s). House was well equipped for everybody and so down to earth. Loved our stay and would go back next time. Host was so accommodating and very responsive.
This is a fantastic place located in a nice quiet area. No congestion like some of the resort towns and has all the amenities you would want. Easy access to Kanab, Bryce, and Zion! Kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meals. Views across the valley at sunset are spectacular. We even did some canyoneering directly across from the home in Ladder Canyon. Can't say enough on how great this place was for our crew. And I would no hesitate to book again! Thanks Marlene
We stayed here while visiting Zion and Bryce. It was very comfortable for us and our doodle after exploring the parks and hiking. Weâve stayed in lots of VRBOs, but this was the best stocked kitchen ever with thoughtful goodies for getting settled in after a long drive. Interesting rock collection with info books on fossils, trees, wild flowers. Enjoyed a visit to gallery and Maynard Dixonâs studio next door. Inspiring landscape and great stars, too.
Great central location from which to explore south Utah, particularly Zion, Bryce, and north rim of Grand Canyon. Marlene, the owner, made contact to ensure we were comfortable and had what we needed. The house was well organized and well stocked with incidentals. Comfortable bedrooms with access to private bathroom for each. The evening shade on the main porch provided a comfortable and cool evening retreat even on hot days.
We arrive late at night and porch lights were on so we could see. Everything was perfect. We traveled with our 2 adult children. So everyone had their our rooms and bathroom. Plenty of room
We truly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Its location was great for hiking at both Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks. We especially enjoyed watching the deer outside with the sun coming up while sipping our morning coffee and tea inside the cozy cabin's dining area. The host provided us with everything we needed, plus more. There was a basket of snacks with trail bars, coffee and tea. The cabin even had a telescope for night sky viewing, which is quite dark there with the lights turned out. There were trekking poles and dry rags for dusting off the red dirt before coming inside. The host truly thought of everything, which made our stay very enjoyable.
Perfect location for a family get away which was convenient for accessing both Zion and Bryce National Parks. The cabin is uniquely designed and roomy enough for our family of seven. Our grandchildren greatly enjoyed our four night stay as did all four adults. We were all wishing we had booked a longer stay when it was time to leave. The view from the cabin is spectacular in and of itself; and the trips into Zion and Bryce were beyond beautiful. Plentiful hiking and sightseeing opportunities abound. The cabin itself was large and comfortable. The nearby town of Orderville had a Family Dollar and grocery store for securing all the supplies needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this cabin for a larger family or group. Much fun with our family. Hope to return sometime.
We've stayed in plenty of VRBO houses in our travels.
THIS is the guest house you would want for yourselves.
Spacious, fantastically decorated, stocked with way more than anyone should expect. I actually felt like a friends vacation house.
The location is awesome. Bryce, Zion, Kanab, St. George.
We discovered a new favorite spot.
Sand Hollow State Park. The beach is DELISH.
Try the jumping rocks.
Anyway, the owners are so thoughtful and made every part of our 5 day stay truly wonderful.
Grateful to have had the opportunity to use this special place and share it with the hummingbirds that met us each morning.
If you are in the area and looking for a spot....
THIS was awesome.
S&A
My wife, our dog , and I all really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very well-stocked with all of the things you need in a home. The views are spectacular and change as the lighting shifts throughout the day. And it is close to many National Parks and Monuments.
* I recommend that anyone looking for an accessible property coordinate closely with the owner. Marlene was wonderful to work with and provided us with a raised toilet seat to make it ADA height for me. I was able to maneuver around the main floor in my powered wheelchair without any problems and I never had to access the other floors. The only surprise was the front step from the entry deck into the cabin. It's only about 5" high, but it was too high for my powered chair. A manual chair with large wheels might make it by popping a little wheelie while being pushed over the threshold, but my chair won't do that. Fortunately, we carry a folding, portable ramp that allowed me to get up over the threshold and enter the cabin. That was the only barrier for me.
We enjoyed the experience so much that we would like to come back some time in the future and bring some friends along to share this incredible place.
We are a small family of five: Dad Carlos, Mom Marlene, daughter, son, and our precious Sophie-a twelve-year-old Springer Spaniel. We have lived on the coast of southern California for 29 years. Carlos serves as the principal for a local high school and Marlene works for the University of California. Our son and daughter love the outdoors, especially hiking, rock climbing, and scuba diving. Sophie is in charge of keeping us smiling and makes sure to keep the family healthy by taking us on walks. Our family works hard, has ups and downs, and strives to celebrate and enjoy life. We feel truly grateful for the everyday blessings and miracles in our lives.
We have visited Utah at least three times a year. We love the area and the people are very friendly. We are so excited to have been able to make this area a permanent part of our lives. After 24 years we still find this area magical and we discover something new each time we are there. We are very lucky to be the second owners of this cabin. The previous owners were Omer and Anita Mullen. The Mullen's first started with a small one-bedroom cabin but with time they added to their cabin until they made it into a full three-bedroom plus one open loft bedroom/rec room home. The cabin has a peculiar layout that allows for privacy and also has an eclectic feel. For example one of the rooms is an actual room from the old Zion lodging. Parts of the room and door were purchased when the Zion lodge was remodeled many years ago. We look forward to restoring the home to a full cabin experience and at the same time honoring the hard work, eclectic style, and love that the Mullen's put into their home.
We love this location because it is right at the heart of Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon. The night skies, red cliffs, inspiring hikes, tranquility of the area, and spectacular sunrises are a true gift to the senses and this can be experienced without leaving the cabin...a home away from home.
