Absolutely amazing place to stay. The cabin had all the accommodations we needed. Very friendly hosts. So close to the bike trails. Cannot wait to stay again!
Stayed at The Ferns for a week on fishing trip. If you are fishing Trout Lake, you can't have better location. Perfect cabin for our group of 3. Plug-ins for boat, all essentials, and a fish cleaning station just short walk away. Property manager was quick to fix the one issue we had. Great communication throughout whole booking process. Would definitely stsy here again if went back to Wisconsin.
This place is awesome! Had everything we needed and more. Loved sitting on the deck and look at the lake. Cabin was very nice, clean and comfortable. Very relaxing. We will be back!!!
Small family managed spot, clean cabins with everything thing you need for a rustic up north experience. Beautiful hiking and biking trails located on a quiet lake with a shallow, Sandy beach. We had a great week with wonderful hosts.
Great experience and excellent value. Tracey was very communicative and patient beforehand with our questions & Gary, Sue, and Lynne were delightful on-site. We wanted a week to unplug and sit around a campfire but got much more in the bargain. Our girls (ages 3 & 5) loved the beach, my smarter half fell in love with the nature trails, and I found the fishing challenging, but that couldnât be helped. Great experience, would recommend. Also, the nearby zoo is a must.
Beautiful clear-water lake surrounded by woods including nearby nature trail, and civilization (groceries/restaurants) only a couple miles away. Kayaks and paddle board available for free. We saw loons, eagles, and even a porcupine during our stay. If you love nature but don't want to be too far from food, this is the place! Cabin is better than advertised and even had decent wifi. We search every summer, but it will be tough to find a better northern lake vacation!
I highly recommend Campo Fiesta! It was more than I could have expected.
Our deepest thanks to Gary, Susan, Lynn, Tracey (Sorry we missed you), and Alex. We had a very relaxing, rewarding vacation. We can't wait to come back up.

Clean, well stocked and appointed cabins. A very friendly and helpful family run business. Very quiet and serene property. Bring food and drink and you're set. Rent a pontoon. So worth it.
Stay at Trout Lake near Boulder for the Fall Colors
Simply had a great time on this trip and the property was as advertised. Quiet, fully operational, and clean. There is ample room to explore and a beautiful beachfront. Walking trails in the woods connect to the state campground trails and this was also a nice plus. Biking in the area to the bike trail was quite easy with the option to get there directly from the property. If you need something, Lynne lives right on the premises and was able to answer any questions we had or address any issue promptly. I would say they went above and beyond my expectations. I would definitely stay here again. Fall colors were simply beautiful.
Very nice place to stay. As advertised. Very clean. Will have to go back when itâs a little warmer outside. The heating did work amazing glad we didnât tent it
Peaceful and relaxing on a nice lake, with boating options available. Friendly and helpful hosts. The cabin was described and pictured accurately, so it met our expectations. Glad to be able to bring our dog along too.
Nice play to stay up north. Cabin was cozy and clean and lake was beautiful and serene. Bring good bug spray. Forgot what the mosquitoes were like there.
The cabin is very basic, but has everything you would need to enjoy the beautiful setting on Trout Lake. Beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of warm blankets available (we stayed in November during a snowy cold snap). The bathroom is large and had a surprisingly great shower with plenty of hot water.
The wi-fi did not function at all during our stay, so I wouldn't expect it to be available...just make due. The cell service up here has improved greatly over the years, so we were never without a connection to the internet or to make calls. Also, there is no TV in the cabin, which was fine with us, but you may want to bring up something to watch a movie on if that is something that you need for entertainment.
Overall, a really cozy and clean place that allows dogs, which was really great to find up here. Downtown Boulder Junction was great and lively for this time of year, which was great to see. We had a really wonderful dinner Saturday night @ Aqualand Ale House. Do give it a try when you are up!
The cabin was in good repair and well stocked in housekeeping supplies and utensils -- beyond our expectations. Everything was clean and worked and the on-line pictures were accurate. The owners were welcoming and gracious, like long term good friends. We only used the cabin for sleep because we spent the days from breakfast to the evening campfire with our extended younger family camping in the nearby state forest. The uncontrollable weather (cold and rain) precluded using the place's water craft and swimming beach or perfectly placed lake side patio. But the cabin's two wall mounted heaters kept the place cozy.
Outstanding! Without exception this property is 5+ stars.

I am a seasoned outdoors person who has a lot of experiences from back country backpacking to exclusive resorts. For the money you will not beat this property.
In more detail: The entire property is immaculate (inside and out). No undergrowth throughout the property to hold excessive bugs etc. The trees have all been trimmed properly (just enough) to get great views of the lake but not barren. Many fire pits throughout the property (each cabin also has their own) with Adirondack chairs. Plenty of cut wood to grab when needed.
The entire cabin was VERY clean with comfortable beds and plenty of sitting areas. Bathroom and kitchen extremely clean with all working parts (stove, oven, facets, micro, toilet, hot water, etc).
The water front and pier are in excellent condition with sitting areas throughout the property. (Added bonus of a concrete patio so the adults donât have to constantly be sitting in the sand) with ample tables next to the chairs for a cold drink. The beach area is clear of all debris. Water front seems to be approximately 200â wide with a swimming area that is 0-3â deep as far out as 200â.
The building that was the dining area from the original girlâs camp can be used for ping pong, reading a book or kidâs toys up to 6 years old. Owner went out of their way to bring in a fish cleaning station with plans to build a new station with a roof and screening.
One of the owners (Lynn) lives on the property. She is VERY nice and gives you your space â however she is accessible whenever you need something.
I highly recommend this property.
Stay here - youâll love it
Excellent owners and staff, friendly, and accessible. Only, and I mean only draw back was the limited internet access. Otherwise, nice secluded area with excellent lake access

Fiesta on the Lake was once part of a private girls' camp known as Campo Fiesta. Since the camp closed we have kept a small part of it with 4 cabins, the dining room, and the little theater. Fiesta On The Lake is military, family, and predominately female owned and operated.
Trout Lake just can't be beat. Between the sandy bottom, clear water, and changing topography there is always something to see and explore. In addition, or property connects to the state forest and a walking trail goes from our cabins to a state hiking trail. Loons, eagles, squirrels, deer and an occasional bear can be found near the property.
Ferns overlooks North Trout Lake and is more private than a few of our other cabins. In addition, there is an outdoor outlet to charge boat equipment in the back of the cabin. Ferns has a small electric fireplace creating a lovely atmosphere on a crisp fall day.
