Our third stay and definitely not our last
This place is lovely- the gorgeous mountain views, the lovely woodstove, the nice open kitchen, etc. It was very clean this time when we arrived, and the kitchen is pretty well stocked. The internet was a bit spotty but it encouraged us to unplug, so not a big deal at all. We enjoyed nearby walks, the bookstores, and just generally the large yard and porch. Hope to return again in the spring or next fall!
We absolutely loved our 8 day stay at the cottage. As advertised the cottage was beautiful, clean, modern, and had everything needed for a nice relaxing vacation. The cottage has everything that was advertised online making it so easy to just walk in, put your feet up and relax. Bob the owner, was wonderful with providing all the necessary information needed for the cabin and the area. We loved it so much we are already planning our next vacation there .
Lovely summer stay
The property is as promised in the photos. The setting is beautiful with hillside views out the front door. It is a bit further away from some hikes, but we were able to get pretty much anywhere we wanted in under an hour of driving. Overall, if you want a clean and beautiful place to stay while exploring the Catskills, this place is it!
Fantastic view of the mountains
The view from the front windows is amazing. The cottage has everything that could possibly need for a relaxing vacation in the mountains.
The owners did not scimp on anything. From the comfortable beds, feather pillows, chefs kitchen or the comfy couches.
Spectacular Weekend in the Catskills
My son and I celebrated my wife's birthday by spending a weekend at this magnificent cottage near the quaint town of Hobart. The cottage is new, very well appointed and the owners, Bob & Tracey, were simply the best. They helped us find a wonderful restaurant (Brushland Eating House...more on that later), as well as provided all the information necessary to enjoy their wonderful slice of heaven.
The 2 BR cottage has everything you need to spend a weekend including a beautiful deck, gas grill, gourmet kitchen and best of all (for the summer)...air conditioning!
My wife fell in love with the luxurious Restonic mattress which we now have to apparently buy for our own home. She said it was the best 2 nights of sleep she has had in months....I think the cool breeze coming in during the evening helped quite a bit.
In addition to the large deck with magnificent views of the mountains, there is a small fire pit outside the house. We picked up some firewood at a local gas station, and my son made us a wonderful fire to enjoy the starry night while we listened to the cacophony of crickets, cicadas and the occasional "moo" of a cow from across the distance.
We brought our loyal Vizsla, who wandered the treeline chasing fireflies and phantom rabbits. Of course, he found the most joy when we hiked the 4-mile loop at nearby Bramley mountain. It's a fairly easy hike, but I recommend doing the Blue trail up as the Red trail (which we took down) is a bit more steep. The views at the top are simply amazing.
After our hike, we grabbed some wonderful summer salads and a cold beer at Table on 10 in Bloomfield. They have a nice outdoor seating area where our dog enjoyed the attention of just about everyone who walked by to pet him.
Bob recommended a couple of nice restaurants in the area for dinner, and we chose The Brushland Eating House in Bovina Center. As we were driving there, a fierce thunderstorm hit the area, and just as we arrived, they lost all power. Totally prepared for this inconvenience, the wonderful staff there lit some candles and continued to serve an amazing meal to all the diners. As with all the other patrons, we found the experience quite enjoyable and were not put off in the least.
Overall, it was a wonderful weekend at thoroughly beautiful, well kept cottage with terrific and attentive owners. We are already looking for weekends in the fall to find a date to see the foliage. We look forward to a return very soon!
