My family really enjoyed this little slice of heaven. A wonderful porch overlooking the lake became our top relaxation spot. There was plenty of room for the family to spread out when alone time was needed too. The lake was quiet and peaceful.
This is the ideal place to stay if you are visiting Glacier National Park. It is very close to the park entrance and easily accessible. We had everything we needed in the house plus things we didn't think about. We couldn't use the fire pit due to the fire ban but the outdoor heater kept us all toasty while we enjoyed the beautiful view from the deck each night. We would stay again!
This property and the home are beautiful. We visited Glacier NP daily and ate dinner in Whitefish one of the nights. The kids loved swimming and fishing in the lake.
I gave everything five stars... except the accuracy of the description of the home... because the location is so much better than we expected! It was perfect for us - a true cozy family home for our family - my 75-year-old mom, my sister's family of five and my family of five. The deck is amazing and we spent most meals and family time outside! The closet is STOCKED with family games. We were so excited and surprised that the lake was big - with speedboats - we were expecting more of a pond. But there is a full resort on the other end of the lake! Our kids took out the kayaks everyday to explore and fish. We saw deer daily. The home is SO CLOSE to Glacier National Park and I can't stress how key that was when exploring the park all day. It's so easy and quick to get home. Property manager was helpful and so kind. Kitchen was stocked with basic cooking needs like spices and coffee filters and a huge amount of cooking appliances and plates, etc. Property was peaceful - sound does travel across the lake but the joy of hearing other kids play during the day was a delight. Very quiet at night, except for the lone train whistle which we LOVED. The puppies (and neighbors) next door were friendly and helpful. Plenty of soap, towels, shampoo, etc. A very comfortable, joyful, lovely vacation. We've been looking forward to this vacation for two years and this home was a highlight of ALL the national parks we visited. Thank you!!
Our family enjoyed our stay so much! After a day of hiking at Glacier National Park, we relaxed by swimming in the lake and enjoying the fishing, paddle boards, and kayaks. We celebrated our grandson's 3rd birthday there and it will be a birthday we will all remember. The location is perfect for exploring Glacier National Park and Lake 5 is so peaceful. The house was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Carole was so easy to work with and quickly replied to my questions. Hopefully we can return one day! Thank you Carole!
Nine members of our family gathered to stay here for a week. We enjoyed being just 3 miles outside Glacier National Park, and we also really enjoyed just spending time on Lake Five paddle boarding and kayaking. We took turns cooking meals together in the well-apportioned kitchen, and enjoyed evenings just talking on the deck. We wish we could have stayed longer!
This was a perfect property for a family reunion. The big porch is fantastic, kids loved the games downstairs, all enjoyed the kayaks. Would give more stars if possible.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week vacation at this house. It has a nice back deck with beautiful views of Lake Five!! It is conveniently located close to West Glacier National Park, Whitefish and Columbia Falls. We hiked, golfed, went to the top of Whitefish ski resort, and drove to East Glacier as well.
The house is very clean and comfortable! We gathered on the porch each evening to watch the sunsets! We had a fabulous time!!
We had a great time at the lake house and really enjoyed the kayaks! The house is just a few minutes from the west gate glacier which was awesome. Very relaxing place to stay; would love to return again!
The deck in the back is a wonderful place to relax while viewing the lake. Itâs quiet and peaceful. I was here end of September with my grown siblings, significant others, and my dad. Lake also has great private access and we enjoyed the paddle boards.
Myself/son, daughter and her boyfriend stayed here. We found the house to be a wonderful place to stay, while exploring Glacier National. The house was clean, and very comfortable, and had everything we could ash for. The town of Columbia Falls is just a 20 minute drive, with some fun bars, a brewery and restaurants. The park is really close, and we had an incredible experience there.. We would definitely stay here again!!
Beautiful house on a beautiful lake! Owner very congenial and easy to work with.
House will accomodate 9 people comfortably but owner supplies extra blankets, etc if kids don't mind sleeping on the floor. Queen mattress in lower level bedroom needs replacing, but otherwise we were very comfortable
The house is wonderful, clean, well cared for and a great layout! It was full of extras and we really appreciated it. It fit our 11 people perfectly. There wasn't very much hot water for showing, but we talked to the owner so that should get fixed. There is also a lot of trees on the property so the sun doesn't really get to the beach. There is no dock so if you want sun you have to get on a floaty or swim out. It is a great location, we hiked in Glacier a lot. Wonderful stay!
Carole's place was clean, comfortable, and furnished with every amenity we could imagine. The setting on the lake was beautiful, and the proximity to Glacier was perfect. We would definitely stay here again.
Homey lakeside home. Everything as presented. Beautiful lake views. We loved our fire pit!!! Clean and well stocked. Carole was a joy to work with. Proximity to West Glacier National Park is a huge bonus.
Beautiful scenery, extremely convenient location and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Lake was cold but perfect to make that early wake up happen! Luckily we were able to use the fire pit one night, what a setting just steps from the water.
We were in town for a wedding, 5 couples stayed comfortably in our own rooms- only thing that wasnât ideal for us (5 couples) was one was on the pullout in basement and one room had the 3 twin beds, but for anyone with kids these two setups would be great to have.
We will definitely look to stay again if back in the area!
Between being close to the airport and practically at the entrance to the park, this house ensures you can maximize your time spent enjoying all that the area has to offer. The surrounding neighborhood is beautiful and quiet, yet friendly. The house is idyllically situated and perfectly appointed. It was very comfortable for the seven of us (all adults), and we were very grateful for the fully equipped kitchen and the great fireplace.
The host was responsive and helpful with all the questions my group had. The trip to Glacier is one of my favorite vacations, and having such a wonderful place to stay was a big reason for that. While I could try to list everything we enjoyed and appreciated about this property, I'd inevitably miss some of the small thoughtful details. You won't be disappointed with this house!
Perfect location for exploring the west side of GNP. The house was clean and fully equipped with everything our party of 8 needed. The paddleboards and floats were also great for enjoying the lake.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property on Lake 5! The house was clean, well-organized, and well-supplied with nearly everything we may have needed.
The one comment I heard over and over from our group was that it was such a beautiful location on the lake, it would have been nice to SEE the lake! The shore line has gotten very overgrown with brush and small trees, which obscures the view. This could be easily remedied with some clearing, not of the large trees, but the smaller ones. A dock would also be nice, but is not imperative, since the shoreline has such a steady natural slope to it.
We really enjoyed the fire pit and were pleasantly surprised that it was already stocked with firewood.
The owner does a nice job of including almost everything that would be needed for a group, from laundry detergent to shampoo, body wash, etc.
The kitchen is nicely stocked, but we did have an issue with the refrigerator. The ice maker/water dispenser did not work and we were told that parts had been ordered so we just ran for bags of ice every day. The refrigerator froze our produce, in spite of us turning the temps down more and more every day, so don't know what was going on with that.
Overall, property was beautiful and we would love to return again in the future.
I've recently taken a job that leaves my home available for vacation rental. I'll come back and retire one day but for now, my loss is your gain. The picture is of me and my kids at the eldest's wedding on the shore of the lake.
This property has been in the family since 1948 with this house being constructed in 2010. Originally purchased by my Parents and Grandparents after World War II ended and my parents moved 'West of the Mountains', this spot has been a summer retreat for 5 generations now. In 2007 I decided to make this my full-time home and built the new house in 2010.
