My sister and I stayed at Johanna's beautiful cabin, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. It was so cozy and comfortable and we loved the soaring ceilings and beautiful views, even through the rain and fog of our short stay. We loved the whole feel/vibe of this special cabin. Johanna was easy to communicate with. Her cabin is a true gem.
We enjoyed our stay. I like the vintage decor and the location. We really enjoyed Southport General Store for breakfast and lunch. Itâs a long walk to get into the house but we didnât mind it because our house has similar features. Also be prepared for mosquitoes. The only thing I would fix is to find a better place to store all the cardboard boxes above the closet in the bedroom.
Such a beautiful and relaxing cabin- looked forward to it all year
This year was our second time staying.
We loved it as much as... and even better ... this year than last year. The site is gorgeous and the interior is relaxing and comfortably laid out
The sunrise views of the cove from the deck are amazing. Rustic, very comfortable and well equipped. I wanted to be snowed in for months to read all the books. Would definitely rent again.
We loved Johannaâs family cottage! It was very homey and old fashioned, and it obviously belonged to a family who love it! The porch was great for drinking coffee in the morning or wine at night. The kitchen was well equipped. Johanna was very helpful with great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Weâve always loved the BoothBay area, but havenât visited since Covid. What a relief to see that the area is still downright lovely. The early fall weather suited us as were escaping Florida perpetual summer heat. The cottage supplied with everything we could want save lobster served each night. The bed was cozy, the water hot, the views outstanding and the steps helped work off our treats. Our hosts answered our moving in day concerns promptly.
Hope to return again.
This cottage in Southport Maine was perfect for a weekend away from the city with friends. We used it as a basecamp to explore Boothbay Harbor. Pros: Kitchen had everything we needed to make big meals together, gorgeous view of the water from porch, beds were comfy (at least mine was), showers were hot, and the house was clean. Also loved the marine themed decoration and family feel. Tips: Finding the parking and cottage up the hill was confusing so be sure to get directions. Also we couldn't get the wifi to work.
What a fabulous time we had at this beautiful cottage! Johanna was very communicative, her directions to find the path were detailed and we had no issue finding our way. We immediately fell in love with this charming cottage as soon as we stepped inside. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with all the cook and serveware we could ever need. The beds have high quality mattresses and we slept very soundly each night. The deck looking out at Capitol island was large with plenty of seating for our friends to visit. The view is absolutely stunning. We cannot wait to return. It was perfect in every way.
My family came up for a 3 night stay in Maine. Johanna was a super host. She was attentive, provided great communication and was very hospitable. The cabin is charming and has a great view of the water. The layout is different with all bedrooms on one floor and the bathroom on the main floor. Everything she says in the description is accurate. Our only issue with our stay was the heat. It was very hot during our stay (90+ degrees) - so it took the cabin a bit of time to cool down. We opened all the windows and The fans in the room helped too. Overall, this is a good place.
Great location and experience. We really enjoyed staying here and will absolutely book again. Being a Boothbay Harbor native I can say honestly you will love how close you are to everything while still having a private space of your own to enjoy with others.
My family and I enjoyed the comfy cabin. Great view and location. Not for anyone with mobility issues. Path to cabin is not paved; steps to bedrooms upstairs are steep, slippery if you're wearing socks.
The house was clean, comfortable, and was everything we needed for our long weekend. The pathway to the cabin could be marked better and needs lighting, which we were made aware of prior to our stay. We enjoyed our time with our grandkids as we were in the island for a wedding.
We loved everything about the well equipped and comfortable cottage. Minutes from Boothbay afforded us a great jumping off spot for the exploration of surrounding areas. The feel and smell of an old cottage brought back rich memories of the past. The sunsets on the point of the island were lovely. We would highly recommend this property.
This is not a waterfront property - it is a water view only.
This cottage is quaint, and cozy. The location is nice, but there is no water access. The pictures are not quite accurate. The stairs leading down to the waterfront lead to a roped off dead end trail. Unfortunately the view from the deck is blocked quite a bit by overgrown trees. If you know this going in, it's a nice place to stay.
Very cute oceanview cottage with spacious living area and comfy bedrooms. It is a bit of a hike with lots of stairs to get in, but adds to the privacy and quaintness of the place. Wish we could have accessed the water from the property.
Joanna has clearly put a lot of time and care into organizing the cottage and making everything comfortable for the guests. There was no water access because the dock was not out so that was disappointing but everything else was wonderful, including our day trip to Monhegan Island. I would recommend this personable quaint cozy and well thought out cottage.
This a family cottage that our Great Grandfather built in 1905. Our parents added an addition in 1968 and then my sister remodeled it in 2002 with another addition. It has three nice bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It has an awesome view of Pigs Cove and Capital Island and Burnt Island. NO DOCK NO WATER ACCESS!
It is peaceful and beautiful with a warm friendly atmosphere. Watch the lobsterman busy at there days work, enjoy the sweet smell of pine and the cool ocean breeze. During Wind Jammer Days see the tall ships sail into Boothbay Harbor. Enjoy picking fresh blueberries and black berries seasonally for your pancakes, muffins and pies. Have nice walk through the woods. No dock. This property is not suitable for handicap or people who can not climb stairs or walk up hills.
Woods to explore; blueberries to be picked for your morning blueberry muffins or evening pie. Close to Hendrick's Head Beach, Robinson Wharf Restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious Maine lobster. Grill out on the deck and have a delicious meal at home. Not handicap accessible.
