Pointing out that this is the FIRST BAD REVIEW we have received. We are very disappointed with the review and take it seriously. Customer's satisfaction is critical. Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do to make them happy. They "claim" they did not get their deposit back. VRBO confirmed that they did receive 100% of their deposit back within 24 hours of check-out. This "supposed" non-return of deposit is the crux for the poor review, but I will address every "issue" raised: 1) There is NO reason any guest should be in hot water heater closet. This door is to remain locked and was inadvertently left unlocked by maintenance. The lock is a simple bathroom door lock on the inside. A simple twist of the lock button and closing of the door would have resolved his concern. I'm still confused by this complaint. 2) Broken bathroom door knob. Never any mention of this prior to this review. Also, I cannot confirm that it was broken since he says he fixed it and the group before his did not mention that there was a problem. I don't know how you "fix" a broken door knob other than replacing it. It was not replaced. 3) Yard mowing. Yard maintenance is scheduled on the day prior to guest arrival, so that it will be freshly cut. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, the belt broke on the mower when the crew was cutting the grass. A new belt for the mower was ordered for overnight delivery. The crew returned late the next day to complete the job. This was an uncontrollable situation and the guest acknowledged this fact. 4) Kitchen in Dining Hall. Although the guest claimed to have rented the kitchen, this was not the case. But, rather than argue with them, I gave it to them for free!! However, because they did not actually rent the kitchen, it was not prepared for their arrival i.e. the refrigerator and freezer were not turned on. There was a hidden grease trap of which we were unaware. However, once this was pointed out to me I immediately cleaned it myself. For the guest to say there were maggots is a complete EXAGGERATION! 5) The Ping-Pong table had a minor issue with a small bent support beam prior to their arrival and they were enjoying it on Friday. When they checked out the table was destroyed! 6) We love our animals. We tried to appease this group. We immediately addressed their complaints on site. We gave them the Dining Lodge kitchen free, free pony rides for the kids, 4 hours late check out for free, and I see none of this was mentioned on his review.
