Wonderful experience

We had a great trip and staying at the Honiara Kai was very nice. Well laid out and had everything we needed for our stay. The resort itself is also great. The pools and hot tubs were clean and the restaurant Dukes was excellent! We will definitely return when we visit Maui again!!

Great family vacation spot!

Stayed for 10 days with a family of 4 (kids 4 and 8). Ground floor unit was fantastic with kids and the sitting area outside was lovely and private. Easy and quick walk to pools and beach and Duke’s. Unit is clean and had everything we needed. KBM was fantastic and responsive and check in was easy despite arriving at midnight with 2 overtired kiddos. Honua Kai is a fantastic place to stay with kids and we’ll be back!

A great place for our family vacation! The unit was clean, had great appliances, and a large bathroom. Our only complaint was with the resort pool. We enjoyed our stay and our Vrbo was as listed. There were no issues other than their dryers are terrible. However doing laundry on vacation is not my priority so very little concerned.

Our particular unit 140 was bare bones in terms of kitchen items, there was no cookie sheets or BBQ tools. There was also no beach towels so you will have to use the ones from the Honua Kai. The property was lovely and well maintained with friendly staff

Location good. Property was pretty and Dukes was great. Alarm and speaker went off all night about evacuating. Sheets old and pilled. Pillows old and lumpy. Furniture gross and old. ESP throw pillows. No one wants those on the clean bed and sheets. Hallways smell. .

GREAT STAY

Honua Kai is a perfect family resort, with great pools, a nice beach and close access to everything. This ground floor unit was perfectly located so we could easily get out to the pools or our car. The lanai includes a garden area making it feel very private, but spacious. I highly recommend this unit for any family travel. Oh and they included beach chairs, beach toys and a cooler that we used for beach trips.

Love this place

This is our second time . My family loves the property. My only not so good is gate pass didn't work to get in the gate at the end of the property. Took to valet person he fixed... and it worked once and never agian for the entire stay .

Family vacay

We came with a group of 11 and were able to get ground floor units all right next to each other. Ground floor was perfect, could walk out slider to pools/ocean. The dryer in the room does not work well, I would suggest just hanging washing outside to dry. This was a great hotel for all age groups. The beach was beautiful but not amazing to swim in, quite rocky. We ended up going to a few other beach locations to swim/snorkel and boogie board. If you walk down the boardwalk from this hotel about ten min there is a much nicer beach. Nice that our rental came with boogie boards and sand toys and beach chairs.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Honua Kai. It is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The grounds are beautifully kept and the walk out to the beach was amazing. We spent much time enjoying both the beach and the pool areas.

Condo was beautiful with gleaming granite counter tops and cupboards. I loved that it had all the beach supplies in the closet for us to use. Couches were comfortable and the table was large enough for 5 to eat. Fridge with ice maker and water was appreciated.

Fabulous stay at Honua Kai

Our family loved our time in Maui and enjoyed Honua Kai. The property was clean, staff super helpful and kind, and the pools were a huge hit. The condo was spacious for our family of 4, and had everything we needed!

Fun Family Destination

We loved our stay at Honua Kai. The photos of the listing are accurate; it is a lovely condo and beautiful property. The location of the room is very convenient for an easy exit outside or to the parking garage. We especially enjoyed having the extra bedroom for our kids so we could all have our own space! It was quiet and clean. About Honua Kai in general: it is a huge property full of families. The pool is full of kids (as one would expect!). It is not a place I would go for a quiet getaway, but great for families with kids. The beach in front isn't the best for swimming, but so easy to access and lovely for watching the sunset. We walked about 10 minutes south along the path to the old airport beach for snorkeling. We highly recommend Times supermarket for groceries, which is essentially across the street from the property. We found their prices to be the most reasonable (better than getting WAY too much from Costco!). We will always remember our vacation in Maui with fondness! What a beautiful place to stay and explore.
