Breathtaking view!!

My daughter and I stayed in this room for 9 days. The view never got old!! I was completely enchanted with the expansive ocean and city panorama, particularly enjoying the sailboats and canoe paddlers out on the ocean. The location is amazing… so close to the Ala Moana shopping center, park, beach, and Waikiki center. We had a car but walked a lot as well. The free, secure parking was a huge bonus and the parking spot itself is very conveniently located near the elevators. And speaking of elevators (as others have had issues), we had no problems during our stay and found them to be very quick considering we were on the 37th floor. The building staff was very friendly. There is an ABC store right on the corner that has most anything you’d need. We were so happy with this unit and highly recommend it!

5-star view makes up for anything that wasn’t perfect! We really enjoyed our stay there. The host was wonderful to communicate with and the price was great. A couple of things that could’ve been better are the corners of the bed frame introduced themselves to our shins a few times, the shower is a little small, but it did the job it needed to do, one of the lawn chairs in the closet was broken, but it wasn’t the end of the world. The cable TV service wasn’t that great but we just hooked up our laptop to the TV and did YouTube TV. It worked! You’re not really there to watch TV anyway, but thought we’d mention it. It had all of the amenities that we needed for our stay. Some previous reviews mentioned Long waits for the elevator, but we did not experience that. It was wonderful being by the marina and there were a few beaches right across the street that we were able to enjoy.The hot tub in the pool were great and it was very quiet. We hope to stay there again in the near future!

Nice place to stay.

Decent place to stay. Walking distance to beach and gym. Needed dish soap and bathroom soap. Overall, it was clean. Elevators slow ya down a bit. Everyone seemed to be friendly and nice. The price is right. If you looking for an affordable place to stay in Hawaii, this is a great place.

Roach Motel

I truly wish that I could have been more generous with my rating of this property. The views and location provided by this property were absolutely incredible, in fact they are what led me to choose this option, along with the value of the price. During our last night at this condo my wife spotted a roach crawling across the kitchen floor. Needless to say we were both disgusted and uncomfortable with the thought of potentially bringing home roaches with our luggage. The manager of the property responded by saying this is a tropical environment and there's nothing they can do about it. We would not recommend staying here in light of this.

Do not recommend

The room was comfortable, smaller then expected but the view was nice. However do not recommend this place because the elevators issues. One elevator was completely down and the other was braking down 2 days out of our 6 night stay. We were on the 37th floor going up with groceries bad knees was a nightmare. We had asked for a discount or a night at the hotel to accommodate our inconvenience and that was ignored and was told the room was already disconnected because of the elevator issues. If we would have known that we would NOT have chosen that condo.

The view is amazing however the condo and property is run down and has roaches, the owner said its a normal thing for Hawaii to have bugs, the bed was broken, the owner said it could not be fixed at this time, you sink to the middle and the frame cracks every time you move, we were just waiting for it to collapse. There was only 1 working elevator to and from the 37th floor so the wait was at least a 5 minutes each time. The owner told me he would leave a bug fumigator on the counter to feel free to use it which is just crazy!!! I'm on vacation!!! When on vacation I expect my stay to be nicer than my home and this was very disappointing. I don't live with roaches in my home so why save my money to go on vacation to stay with them... I would leave lights on at night to help prevent the roaches from coming out, we brought food and snacks that we had planned on using there but ended up throwing everything away as we were disgusted. VRBO also did not help, I asked to be relocated to a different property and they gave me the runaround. Hawaii overall is beautiful but the stay here was the downfall to our vacation. My advice spend a little more and stay at the hotels, this place is not it!!!

DO READ NEGATIVE REVIEWS!

My boyfriend and I arrived late due to flight delays on our first night, it was relatively easy to find from the airport and finding the key fobs were uneventful. We unloaded all of our luggage, 7 days worth and went to the lobby to get to our condo on the 37th floor. We waited for a half hour for the ONLY elevator that is running for all 39 floors. We thought it would improve...it most certainly didn't. We wasted hours of our vacation and were late for 2 reservations because we had to wait for the elevator. We missed the sunset the night my boyfriend, now my fiancé' proposed to me, because we waited 45 minutes for the elevator. The unit was dirty, dust on all the edges of the trim around the whole unit, the sheets were not clean (just straightened up, same with the comforter), 1 of the 2 drinking glasses was broken, the sponge for washing dishes was sour, our shower curtain was filthy (so bad we bought our own and used it and put the dirty one back on when we left), the shower had dirt in the corners (i cleaned for an hour before we felt comfortable there) and worst of all our toilet was broken and ran ALL day and night and made a loud pitch whistling noise. When I asked the owner to come fix it after my fiancé' had tried many times in the night to get it to be quiet before we had to close the door to muffle the sound, he didn't acknowledge my request. 2 days later there was a leak above our unit from another toilet leaking and we were told it was ok. I specifically asked if beach stuff was included at the rental and the owner told me yes. No beach stuff. 2 towels, 1 of which I found waded up in the bottom drawer, not beach towels, very thin small towels, no chairs as he said there would be and no umbrella. The broken elevator, which we found out from residents is not "temporarily out of service" as the owner will tell you AFTER you book the reservation is permanently down until the building will pay a huge amount of money to fix it. The elevator waits are enough to ruin this VRBO and your experience. Homeless people hang out outside the front door with the security guard, that made us feel real safe. On a positive note- we got our steps in, walking up and down 37 flights of stairs 4x because of the broken elevator. The view is spectacular, the bed is comfortable and it's nice size for a couple. Other than that it's TERRIBLE. You can find plenty of better VRBO's in the area in the same price range- Go there!

Some renters wait until they return home and claim all sorts of problems and then request rental funds back or post a negative review. The only valid complaint that the renters made to us was noise from the toilet which they said they fixed. However, I went to the unit the next day to make sure and there was not noise from the toilet. I also went to the unit after they departed and again there was no noise from the toilet. The rest of what they claim is simply not true. In addition none of those claims were brought to our attention until after they departed and requested a return of rental funds.
