Welcome! I’m Dayna, and I’m so happy to share my little piece of Nova Scotia with you.

I grew up in Halifax and have always had a deep connection to the South Shore and St. Margaret’s Bay. After spending a number of years living and working away, I came home to Nova Scotia — and this cottage became a very special part of that homecoming.

While we’re new to Vrbo, we’re certainly not new to hosting. Our cottage has been a consistent five-star accommodation on other booking platforms, and we’re incredibly proud of the experiences our guests have had here. Providing a beautiful, comfortable and exceptionally clean place to stay — and being available when our guests need us — is something we take seriously.

I don’t think of this as simply a rental property. It’s a home I genuinely love spending time in, and I’ve tried to create the kind of place I would want to arrive at myself: comfortable, relaxed, welcoming and thoughtfully put together, without feeling precious or fussy.

Some of my favourite moments here are the simplest ones — morning coffee, walking to the beach, a quiet evening in the hot tub, cooking dinner after exploring the South Shore, or simply slowing down and enjoying the peace and quiet.

I’m also happy to share my favourite restaurants, beaches, day trips and local spots you might not otherwise discover. And if you have a question or need something during your stay, please reach out. I want you to feel at home here.

I chose this neighborhood because it offers the perfect balance of natural beauty, peace and convenience. St. Margaret’s Bay has the relaxed, welcoming feel of a coastal community, with beautiful beaches, forest trails, rocky shorelines and stunning ocean views all close by.

I love that the area feels quiet and private without being remote. You can spend the day exploring the South Shore, visiting local beaches, enjoying great restaurants and cafés, or taking in the scenery along the Lighthouse Route — then return to the cottage and unwind in the peace and quiet.

This neighborhood also feels genuinely connected to Nova Scotia’s coastal character. It’s a place where you can slow down, enjoy the outdoors and experience a more relaxed pace of life, while still being within easy reach of Halifax and many of the region’s most popular attractions.

For me, it’s the combination of location, natural beauty and atmosphere that makes this neighborhood so special. It feels like a true escape, but one that is easy to enjoy and explore.

What makes this property truly special is the way it brings together the best of both worlds: a peaceful coastal escape surrounded by nature, with the comfort, privacy and convenience of being close to everything the South Shore has to offer.

Tucked into the natural beauty of St. Margaret’s Bay, the cottage is surrounded by forest, fresh air and the easygoing charm of a coastal community. Mornings begin quietly, with the sounds of nature and the promise of a new day by the water. You can spend your days exploring beaches, trails, rocky shorelines and nearby villages, then return to a private, comfortable space where you can relax and settle into the slower pace of coastal living.

What I love most is that the cottage feels like a true escape without ever feeling isolated. Halifax, local restaurants, cafés, beaches and many of the South Shore’s most popular attractions are all within easy reach, while the property itself gives you a peaceful place to unplug, reconnect and enjoy time together.
