With approximately 3 feet of MLW in Jenkins Creek and a nearby public launch ramp, you'll have easy access to the Choptank River and Chesapeake Bay for boating, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and exploring the Eastern Shore's scenic waterways. After a day on the water, cool off in the sparkling 20' x 40' in-ground pool, unwind in the hot tub, or relax on the screened porch overlooking the water.

Nice quiet little place on the water, perfect for our paddle boards.Terri was a communicative and accommodating host. We opted to bring our own linens - if you do this, be aware there are no comforters on the beds.We appreciated the cleanliness and found the house more than suitable for our small reunion of college friends. Baer Necessities is a beautiful slice of heaven…. It has everything and anything you could want. The house is pristine and spacious and also well supplied with everything you need. The outside is picture perfect with a pool, a dock and beautiful scenery right on Jenkins creek! Five stars and more!

The owners were very communicative and everything was as expected. The setting of the property is gorgeous and it provided a great space for us to grill with our son's team before retreating for a quiet night's sleep.

Girl's Weekend

The place was perfect for our college friends reunion. Town was less than a 5 minute drive for restaurants and shopping, and we appreciated having the pool to escape the heat. There was plenty of room to lounge about and reminisce and play games. We loved our time here and Teri was very welcoming and easy to communicate with.

This property is immaculately kept and probably the most comfortable, charming, well-stocked property I’ve ever rented. Teri and Lauren clearly care deeply about it, and no wonder - it’s a little slice of quiet, peaceful heaven on the water. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful vacation home!

This was our first family vacation. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this lovely home. There was something for everyone..fishing from the dock, swimming in the pool or enjoying the screened in porch!! Teri responds immediately to any questions. We will definitely be back next year.

Peaceful stay

Our family of four enjoyed a peaceful stay at Bare Necessities! The house was well stocked with everything we needed for a week on the Eastern Shore. Teri communicated throughout the process, which made preparing for the stay very easy! This house is in a wonderful location and a short ride to many different attractions, but we ended up spending most of our time enjoying the dock, creek, and pool at the house. We look forward to a return visit.

Peaceful Get Away

What a property! We were in town for my father’s memorial service and there couldn’t have been a better property for my family to gather during a time of loss. The pool provided plenty of healthy distraction for the kids and the water access and view provided peace for the adults. We will absolutely be back. Teri and Lauren take great care of this property and provide thorough communication. Don’t look anywhere else if visiting Cambridge.

Awesome Getaway with Great Sunsets!

Beautiful Home in a Quiet n Friendly Neighborhood ! House was fully stocked, everything we needed was available. Walmart is only 15 minute away. Crystal Clear Pool , Relaxing Hot Tub n a Private Peir to fish n crab from not to mention Foos Ball and Ping Pong so much to do never a boring moment! Not 1 complaint! Highly recommend this property 5 Stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our Family is looking forward to our next stay👍

Our family had a wonderful, relaxing time at Baer Necessities on Jenkins Creek. For birdwatchers, there are several resident herons, ducks, osprey, and terns in addition to the usual backyard birds. Crabbing from the pier amused the kids. But they preferred the swimming pool more often than not. The kitchen was very well equipped, which was a nice surprise. The fireworks at Cambridge were also a must-see event. Would totally rebook!

Family vacation

We had a lovely family vacation at a beautiful home with everything we like. It was in a beautiful creek with wildlife, a wonderful pool, the canoes and dock. Very private and beautiful property with a garden. The game room was awesome! Beautiful pond area. Everything was well keep and clean, as the inside of the home. Very comfortable and clean!! Loved the tvs in all rooms, even though we didn’t need to use most of them! We enjoyed just sitting outside and gazing at our view. Thank you Teri, for having us!

A perfect home in a beautiful setting!

Teri and Lauren’s home perfectly met our family’s needs, and was exactly as advertised. We appreciated all the home comforts, from the extremely well-stocked kitchen to the beautiful pond, vegetable garden and pool outside. The communication with Teri and Lauren was exceptional from the time we booked until we checked out, and we really appreciated the binder full of helpful restaurant suggestions, including detailed notes about each restaurant, The location of the home is beautiful, and we enjoyed watching the sunset over Jenkins Creek each evening. The house is only five minutes from downtown Cambridge, but feels like you’re way out in the country. We could not have hoped for a more peaceful, comfortable home to spend a few days!

Spacious, Modern Home on Jenkins Creek

Teri’s home was beyond our expectations! The photographs are accurate however don’t do this home & property justice. The living areas are spacious, modern and comfortable. There is more than enough seating for relaxing or eating for 8 plus the covered screened porch added an additional table and chairs for dining & just hanging out with stunning views of Jenkins Creek. The home includes 3 bedrooms with comfortable queen or twin beds, linens and 2 full bathrooms, including the private master bathroom with stand-up shower. The chef’s kitchen was a delight - modern and well equipped with all the appliances, dish ware & cookware you could need. The fully stocked spice pantry was a pleasant surprise as was finding staples like oil, sugar & flour. Although we couldn’t take advantage of the in-ground pool in mid-October, there is a hot tub for relaxing as well as chairs in a sunny spot near a pond or you could sit on the dock & enjoy incredible sunsets. There is no end of outdoor space to roam and enjoy. Don’t hesitate to rent this charming home for your next vacation. You won’t be disappointed!

A very special weekend

I had a wonderful romantic weekend at Baer Necessities with my girlfriend--now fiance. I surprised her by proposing to her at sunset the Friday we arrived--unbeknownst to her, we were not coming to join friends at their rental. Instead we would have a perfect romantic weekend at a perfect location. The gorgeous and private setting of Baer Necessities was exactly what I was looking for; close enough to town for easy bike rides, but secluded enough to feel like we were "getting away from it all." We took advantage of the many amenities: we biked into downtown Cambridge for lunch, canoed out to the bay for sunset, relaxed in the hot tub and read outside by the small pond near the water. Teri was a wonderful to work with and she helped me be confident about using VRBO for the first time. We were in regular contact before and during our stay, even providing helpful restaurant recommendations. I had complete confidence that if anything had gone wrong it would have been handled immediately. However, everything was perfect, as advertised. Thank you so much Teri. We will be back for future romantic weekends and with family and friends. Jason and Jeanie
