This was a great location to enjoy the ocean and the bay. Also you could see the sunrise and sunset from the back porch. We enjoyed the bottom and top decks...never had to use the popup or umbrellas. The house was lovely, the refrigerator and cook top need to be replaced...lots of fridge broken shelves and the cooktop only had a few working eyes with no writing on the knobs so didnt know simmer from high. You need to cook when you stay on Dauphin Island...not many restaurants and most had a long waitlist...broken appliances make for a terrible experience.

Independence Day

The beach in front of Paws Awhile is one of the best we've found on the bay side of Dauphin Island, and the water was actually deep enough to be relatively cool most of the week. We were bothered by the standing green water in the hot tub that was likely a breeding ground for mosquitoes. If the hot tub really needs a cover on it.

Review of Paws-A-While beachhouse

We were very pleased with the rental except that neither ice machine worked-the one on the counter or the in the freezer-so I reported this, but no one came, so we had to buy ice. The oven does not work properly. The top oven did not heat up past a certain degree, the bottom oven didn't work unless the top oven was on.

We absolutely loved Paws-awhile. The house is beautiful and has stunning views. The beds and furniture are very comfortable, and the property is clean and well maintained. We can't wait to go back!

The property was clean, well equipped as advertised and in a pleasant and growing neighborhood. Excellent access to the water with a sandy beach and shoreline. Overall, the property provided an excellent venue for a family vacation.

Beach escape

We had an issue checking in. We arrived on the island early, so we drove around getting familiar with the area. At 4pm we headed to the house. We arrived a few minutes after 4pm to find the cleaning crew. They didn’t speak English so a representative arrived to speak with us. She was very nice and apologetic. Regardless, we sat and waited at the patio area under the house. This area was a big disappointment. It was nothing like pictured. All the nice furniture was gone. The hanging chairs, large grill, hammock. And lounge chairs were gone. The only furniture was a picnic table, one broken wooden lounge chair, a heavy outdoor lounge chair and matching beach style chair. There was a large grill that was broken and a smaller working grill. We chose this house because of the downstairs area. We felt it would be a perfect area to keep our dog out of the sun while we enjoyed the sun and we’re just steps from the water. Once we were able to enter the house, it was perfect. Very clean and exactly as pictured. The furniture was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with all necessities. The next disappointment was the hot tub. I lifted the cover and the water was dirty. It stuck a

House was very clean and exactly how it was Described and shown in the photos. Loved being on our own private beach! Easy check in and out process. Definitely will be back.

Amazing beach vacation

We had a great time. The check in was easy, with a private Bay front. We spent a lot of time on the ocean side but it was an easy walk across the road or drive to the public beaches. We recommend renting the golf carts to explore the island. Also Fort Gaines was a great experience. The check out was simple and easy as well. We will definitely stay a again.

Dauphin Island summer trip!

We had a great time!! The house was beautiful, clean, great space. We didn’t realize the house was on the Bay side, but it was fine because the beach was right across the street. And actually the bay side had the most beautiful sunset views! The fire pit was also a big hit! Dauphin island is so quiet & peaceful- with a few quaint shops, restaurants, and the grocery store had tons! We were surprised at how cute the boutiques were! Thanks so much!! Vacasa was easy to work with! Highly recommend !!

Most relaxing vacation ever!!

We took our senior dog for his first trip to the beach and he loved it!! We walked on the beach with our 2 dogs and relaxed in the hot tub with a glass of wine.. it was beyond relaxing and peaceful!! I WILL be back!!!
