Destin vacation

Very good location. Really enjoyed the two pools. However, the office staff was poor. The manager was great and without his direct number stay would have been worse. The property was worn. Toilet broke, pullout couch was broke and table on outside legs was broken from rust. Regardless, great location and had all amenities we needed.

Worst room ever

This was the worst room we have stayed at in Sterling Shores. We had roaches in the room, and when I reported it I was told it is “normal in Florida”. Funny, as in all my stays, we’ve never seen them. There were no full length mirrors available, and the bathroom fixtures were dingy and dated. We always stay at Sterling Shores when we come down, but this trip has us second guessing that decision, and we will probably look for a new location next year

Good. Nice location.. Trouble with cable in main room. Calls went unanswered for assistance. Left items in unit. 28 bucks to go check it out. No call back yet on our belongings. Not a good experience in that regard. Mold in main shower over head was bad too. Front door needs a coat of paint. Elevator out all week as well. Had to do 8 flights of stairs multiple times a day. Other than that great time was had.

Sterling Shores 809 was the perfect place for our fall vacation.

From the reservation process to checkout, everything was wonderful. Our group enjoyed the views from the balcony, the lagoon pool, and the beach. We were lucky that Hurricane Ian steered clear of Destin. One suggestion would be to upgrade the kitchen cookware. We love to cook breakfast and the pans available were definitely not non-stick.

Not what it use to be, but still a nice property!

The last few visits to Sterling Shores gave us the feeling of being owned and managed by a large company.It use to feel warm and inviting with the comforts of home provided by the family who own the condo, now it feels like something is missing. The only person overseeing the needs inside the condo for the guest is probably the maid/cleaning service and it’s near impossible for her to inventory essential things that are needed but slowly become unaccounted for over time. Additional blankets, missing spatulas, towels, pillows, oven mitts, and beach stuff are no longer present. Low quality sheets and who knows how often these comforters are washed. These are noticeable things that individual owned properties seem to have plenty of. We have made many great memories at this property and believe it is a great place to stay, but we will be trying some other places that are individually owned , the way this property started.

Beautiful, clean condo!

We loved our condo! My family and I love Sterling Shores! Out of the last ten years, this condo (809) had the best view we have been had! My only recommendation for the owner is to upgrade the master bed frame. The frame is soooo squeaky. My husband and I are both light sleepers and just turning on our sides or adjusting a leg would squeak so loud. The mattress is comfortable. Some additionals blankets for the pull out sofa would be a great addition also! We are always sad to leave and we truly enjoyed this condo so much!

Didn’t want to leave

Would definitely stay here again. There was a fairly large maintenance issue, but Vacasa was extremely responsive and efficient. They always checked with me before entering the unit and was anxious to compensate us fairly for the inconvenience. The pools were clean with plenty of seating and access to the beach couldn’t be better. There’s an amazing seafood restaurant directly across the street on the beach. And the views-no words!

Room 809 Sterling Shores

The Master bedroom smelled like cat urine. When we first arrived the cleaning solution was so strong it masked the smell of the cat urine. Some of the outlets didn’t work. The screen on the sliding doors was broken.The grounds of the property were beautiful

October 2018 Stay

stayed here 10 times in the past 15 years. By far the worst vacation experience. We contacted the service desk about a cancelling our stay 5 days early, due to red tide and the severe asthma my step son has. We were at the beach and pool a total of 10 minutes the first day. We were informed, it was out of their control and we could not get a credit of any sort, since it was out of their control. Fast forward another two days and we had to leave due to a near category 5 hurricane 45 miles away. No refunds of any sort. Paid for 7 days, got to experience 2 days at the resort. Only one of which we were able to go outside for any length of time. We have talked to several people who have received money back or a credit for future visits, some of whom stayed at Sterling shores. I guess our mistake was going thru the company website instead of VRBO... Loved staying here in the past, won't be staying here in the future
