Welcome to Wildflower Home, a designer three-bedroom tucked into Cottage Grove, one of Houston's quietest inner-loop pockets. Sleeps seven across a king master, a queen guest room, and a bunk room (full plus twin) that's cheerful and kid-ready with toys and everything families actually need. Three full bathrooms so mornings don't turn into a traffic jam. One has a deep soaking tub made for long days that need winding down.
This home is personal. Original artwork from local Houston artists hangs in nearly every room, live plants fill the space with vibrant greenery, and thoughtful touches sit in every corner. It's a home that's been lived in and loved. Modern with mid-century accents, rich oak floors, and bright natural light pouring through every window.
Rare for the Inner Loop: Free Garage + Driveway Parking
You get the garage opener and a private driveway. Both are rare in the city. No permits, no street hunting, no paying a downtown rate to park at your own home. Pull in, unload, and you're in.
The Space
The king master is built for real rest. Casper mattress, premium linens, blackout curtains, and the kind of quiet that's hard to find in a city. The queen guest room feels bright and airy, styled with the same care. The bunk room is vibrant and practical, perfect for kids who want their own space. Traveling with a baby? A pack and play is ready to go, no need to bring your own.
Downstairs opens into a light-filled living and dining area that flows into the kitchen. Vintage glassware, a Pottery Barn dish set, a drip coffee maker, a French press, and quality cookware and serving ware for everyone at the table. Treats left throughout the house because extra care is always welcome. You'll also find family games, group games, and conversation starters on the shelf to make this a memorable stay. A dedicated workspace with fast Wi-Fi is ready if you're bringing work along. Central air, washer and dryer free to use, fresh towels ready on arrival.
Outside
A large fenced private backyard with a patio dining table that seats 8 people comfortably, string lights, and space for kids to burn off energy. Morning coffee here is a ritual.
Your Neighborhood, Curated by a Local
I've lived in Houston long enough to know where to send you, and the good stuff is all within a few minutes of the front door.
Start your morning at Next Door on Larkin, the Cottage Grove coffee shop that's the heart of the neighborhood. Walk over with a book or a laptop and you'll see half the neighbors already there. For dinner, walk to Elliot's Table, one of the best intimate dinners in Houston with a grilled octopus and pork chop that regulars swear by. Down the Street is the true neighborhood bar and patio with a huge outdoor space and the kind of weekend brunch where you stay longer than you planned.
Adventures Under Five Minutes
Five minutes by car or a nice bike ride gets you to Memorial Park's 3-mile loop, hike-and-bike trails, tennis center, and golf course. While you're there, two locals-only tips: Vibrant near the park is the coffee shop that honestly smells like health when you walk in, and Beck's Prime at Memorial Park is the actual hidden gem. Grab a burger (or their tuna sandwich, they'll make it as a lettuce wrap, a personal favorite) and a strawberry or vanilla milkshake. The vanilla is the best, full stop. Eat on the patio, watch people play golf on the Memorial Park course, and you'll understand why locals love this place.
Memorial Park is one of the largest urban parks in the country. You can drive or walk there from this home. They recently competed a $72M addition. This was phrase two of three. The third one is being added to now. Houston does an impeccable job of pouring money back into Houston, so this park is true gem that's constantly being upgraded.
Adventures Under Ten Minutes
Whether you drive or bike, you can get to the Heights for dinner at Postino or Local Foods. The awesome part about this home is that it easily connects to the White Oak Bayou Greenway where you can explore miles of scenic trails perfect for walking, biking, or scooting.
Next hot spots for under ten minutes are Washington Avenue's restaurant and bar row, downtown, Montrose, and/or the Museum District. Specific recommendations for each I include in your guide once you book (more on that coming up).
