Serene 5-bedroom house in Panajachel perfect for your getaway
One of a very few properties located on the lake in the Panajachel area with direct access to one of the most picturesque beaches on the lake. This home, comprised of three buildings -- the main house with two bedrooms, a detached bedroom with bathroom and a separate guest cottage with two bedrooms, epitomizes rustic elegance. Located on the outskirts of Panajachel, outside the hussle and bustle, you can walk to the center of town in 10 to 15 minutes, or go by tuk tuk or car in five minutes.
The space
From the moment you enter this lush, tropical oasis you'll realize you have been transported to a very special place. 100 year-old cypress trees and birds of paradise frame in the circular, drive-thru parking area. Upon arrival you will be greeted by me or one of my staff as well as the house staff. We will walk you through the house and make sure all your questions are answered.
A stone stairway with handrail leads from the parking area down to the main house, detached bedroom and recreation area complete with ping pong table, badmitton court and lake entrance. The guest cottage, which has two bedrooms, living room, bathroom and kitchenette is adjacent to the parking area.
The great room of the main house has a wood-burning fireplace, smart TV and ample seating. The kitchen is completely equipped. Other amenities include a charcoal grill, beach access, and a two-person kayak.
A variety of services and activities can be arranged including:
- paragliding
- hiking tour that culminates in a gourmet picnic
- moutain biking tours
- cultural tours that include authentic Kachiquel Mayan ceremonies
- cooking classes
- private in-house cook
- lake tours by private boat with or without bilingual guide
- kayaking tours
- massage therapist
- private yoga instruction at your rental home
- shopping service to stock your kitchen with any beverage or snack items you would like to find upon your arrival

As part of new regulations inacted by the Guatemalan tax authority in January, 2023 (Acuerdo Gubernativo 245-2022), all businesses are required to submit an official government invoice for all sales in excess of Q.2500; failure to do so could result in a fine for the hosts (i.e. property owners).
For citizens of Guatemala a tax ID # or DPI number is required along with your name. For all non-Guatemalans a passport number along with your name is required in order to issue this official government invoice/receipt.
We are aware that you were required to provide this or similar information to register on Airbnb, however the hosts are not provided with these details.
After your reservation has begun, or shortly after your checkout, me or a member of my team will contact you for this information so that we can create a receipt (aka, "factura").
