Unlike any hotel in the area, our home provides space, privacy, and luxury within one of North Carolina’s most sought-after communities. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine from our expansive decks overlooking the greens, or unwind in the quiet elegance of a gated neighborhood designed for relaxation and comfort.

areas. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing anything from a quick
breakfast to a relaxed dinner, while the comfortable living and dining spaces invite
you to unwind after a day of exploring. Start your morning with a fresh cup from
the coffee maker, catch a movie on the 65” Ultra HD TV, or step out onto the
covered wrap-around deck to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Stay connected
with high-speed WiFi throughout the home, utilize the washer and dryer during
your stay and take advantage of complimentary parking.

Your Private Retreat

Each guest bedroom is designed to feel like your own personal sanctuary. Enjoy a
spacious private bathroom featuring awalk in shower or an extra-deep soaking
tub and shower—perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. Rooms include a 42”
HDTV with Spectrum cable, a dedicated workspace, and fast, reliable WiFi. With
individual temperature controls for heating and A/C, you can set your comfort just
the way you like. Each room also offers private access to both the common areas
and the outdoors, giving you the flexibility to come and go with ease.

We chose The Hatteras Cottage because it offers the perfect balance of luxury, relaxation, and convenience. Located within the private gated community of Governors Club, the home provides a peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful scenery and nature, while still being just 15 minutes from the restaurants, shops, and charm of downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro.

What truly drew us to this property were the tranquil surroundings and stunning golf course views from the decks, where guests can enjoy quiet mornings with coffee or relaxing evenings at sunset. The community’s walking trails and natural beauty make it easy to unwind and reconnect with the outdoors. It’s also common to see deer, bald eagles, and many beautiful birds and wildlife throughout the area, which makes every stay feel even more special.

For us, The Hatteras Cottage is more than just a vacation home — it’s a peaceful luxury retreat that allows guests to relax, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of Chapel Hill.

The property is also ideally located within walking distance of the Governors Club clubhouse, making it especially convenient for guests attending weddings, golf outings, and special events hosted at the club. While the golf course and clubhouse are private and not open to the public, our home is one of the closest properties to the clubhouse — just three homes away — making it an exceptional location for event guests.

We also completed a full renovation of the home to create a more elevated and luxurious guest experience. This included a chef’s kitchen, beautifully updated bathrooms, refreshed bedrooms, and enhanced landscaping throughout the property.

To make every stay as comfortable and seamless as possible, we provide many of the conveniences guests appreciate while traveling, including quality linens, shampoo and conditioner, laundry detergent, dishwashing supplies, and other everyday essentials. Our goal is for guests to arrive, relax, and immediately feel at home in a luxury retreat designed with comfort and hospitality in mind.
