Off-Grid Islamorada Stay

The space
Our houseboat is totally self contained. We store rainwater in large tanks. We ask our guest to conserve our water by limiting showers to 5 minutes. Please make sure all spigots are properly closed at all times. House water is for shower use only. (Non-potable) We are equipped with an ‘instant on’ LP gas water heater for your comfort.
5 gallon jugs of spring-water are supplied for consuming and brushing teeth.
Electrical power is supplied by solar panels and a large battery bank. We ask guests to conserve energy, when possible. We have a small, gas, generator which turns ‘on’ automatically when batteries are low. We are equipped with one 12,000 btu a/c in the salon area and one 9000 BTU a/c in the master bedroom. Coffee maker and microwave oven in kitchen.
We are equipped with a portable gas BBQ grill which may be used on the forward deck or the stern deck (exterior only). No cooking, smoking or live flames within the interior of the houseboat.

Guest access
All living quarters are open to our guests. The top sky deck is also open for sun bathing and stargazing. The stern roof where solar panels are installed are off limits. Please take note.

Other things to note
The forward main entrance door is extremely heavy and robust.
Please take great care not to let it swing in the freely. On a cool breezy day please use the cord strap fastened to the rail post near the door to loop around the doorknob to hold it in place.
