Iâm Donna, originally from Phoenix and a longtime Austin resident before falling in love with Portlandâs creativity, community, and green spaces. I stay in this cozy 1911 bungalow with my partner on off weeks and love sharing it with guests when weâre away. When Iâm not tending the garden or walking along the river with our dogs, I enjoy exploring Portlandâs neighborhoods, supporting local schools, and connecting with small businesses. Hosting gives me the joy of sharing the comfort and character of our historic home â and the beauty of Portland â with others.

I chose this neighborhood because it captures everything I love about Portland â itâs peaceful, walkable, and just two blocks from the Willamette River. I was drawn to the historic homes, tree-lined streets, and the sense of community here. With Jola CafĂ©, three amazing bakeries, local shops, and the Willamette Sailing Club all nearby, it feels like the best of city living and small-town charm combined. Itâs a place where you can relax, connect, and truly feel at home.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
What makes this property truly unique is its history and heart. Built in 1911, the bungalow was owned by the same family for over a century. The original owners met right here in the neighborhood in the early 1900s, later buying this home and raising their daughter, Nancy, within its walls. The old-growth dogwood tree in the back garden was a gift from husband to wife â a symbol of their love that still blooms beautifully each spring. Nancy lived here until the age of 93 before moving to a nearby retirement community, and her spirit of warmth and care continues to fill the home.
