À propos de cet hébergement
1BR Sleep 3 PALO DURO CANYON Sunset Cabin Firepit
Summary:
A one-bedroom glamping cabin on our Palo Duro Canyon Base Camp compound near Canyon, TX. Sleeps 3, with a private fire pit out back, a BBQ grill for cookouts, a garage for gear, and pet-friendly policies with prior approval. Set up for couples, solo canyon travelers, or a small family using the cabin as a basecamp for Palo Duro Canyon, Pioneer Amphitheatre, and Amarillo. Stand-alone stay, or pair with another cabin or the main home on the compound for a larger group booking.
The Space:
The Sunset Cabin is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom glamping cabin on our compound, comfortable for 3 guests. Rustic exterior, modern interior, sized for someone who wants the canyon-side quiet without the hotel-room sterility.
Inside, you will find a comfortable bedroom, a full bathroom, and a small living area with a flat-screen TV and wireless internet. A laptop-friendly workspace sits in the cabin if you need to log in for a morning call before heading out to the trails. The kitchen handles light cooking and morning coffee. Air conditioning and heating cover both ends of West Texas weather. Bed linens, towels, hair dryer, hangers, and iron are stocked. A washer is in the cabin for longer stays.
Outside is the part most guests come back for: a private fire pit for evening fires and stargazing, a BBQ grill for cookouts, and a garage for gear, bikes, or muddy boots after a Lighthouse Trail morning. The cabin sits on shared acreage at the edge of Palo Duro Canyon, so the night sky is uncompromised by city light.
Sunset Cabin is pet-friendly with prior approval and a pet fee. Smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher are on site for safety.
If your group is bigger than 3, the Sunset Cabin pairs with our other cabins, the tiny home, an airstream, the main house, or the bunker on the same compound. The full property is available as one booking for groups up to 28.
Guest Access:
You will have private access to the Sunset Cabin, the fire pit, the garage, the BBQ grill, and the cabin parking. Self check-in. We send access details, a parking map, and a brief orientation a day before arrival so the trip can start with the first fire and a quiet evening.
The Neighborhood:
We sit in Canyon, TX, the small town wrapped around Palo Duro Canyon. The main park entrance off State Highway 217 is a short drive from our gate, which puts the Lighthouse Trail, the rim road, and Pioneer Amphitheatre easy day-of choices. From June through August, the TEXAS Outdoor Musical runs Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm at the amphitheatre inside the park. Downtown Canyon has the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, West Texas A&M University, and a handful of local BBQ and Tex-Mex spots within a few miles. Amarillo is a short drive north on I-27 for the Big Texan Steak Ranch and Cadillac Ranch off I-40. Days are rim hikes and golf and museum afternoons. Nights are fire-pit conversations and stars.
Getting Around:
A rental car is required. Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA) is the closest commercial airport, with a straightforward drive south on I-27 to Canyon, then west on Country Club Road. Rideshare options in Canyon are limited. Parking is on the property.
Other Things to Note:
This is a glamping cabin on a working rural compound at the edge of the canyon. The fire pit is open-air, so check wind and burn-ban conditions before lighting. Cell signal varies by carrier on the acreage, so wifi calling is helpful. Pets must be supervised on the unfenced shared acreage. Sunsets here pull people outside.
Interaction with Guests:
We respect your privacy. No one is on site full-time. Our team is on call from early morning to late evening Texas time and typically responds within an hour during the day. Message us through the booking platform for anything from a thermostat question to a canyon trailhead recommendation.
