Reach for Beach Stars for your next family vacation. This is an oceanfront home in Avon with four bedrooms on its lower level. The first two bedrooms each have queen beds, deck access, TVs, and share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. The third and fourth bedrooms each have twin beds, TVs, and they share a hall bathroom. Upstairs, the great room has a TV, deck access, a full kitchen, and a dining area for the whole family, plus a half bath. Don't forget to bring your four-legged family member to enjoy the vacation. You'll have easy access to the beach via a sand path and an outside shower to rinse off under after a busy beach day. Take advantage of the fish cleaning station to prepare today's fresh catch. Turn off the deck lights at the end of your day and catch up with old friends while looking up into the night sky while enjoying this great family vacation home.

Things to know:

You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

Location is great. Last house on a dead end low traffic street. Walking distance to just about anything you need including Avon Pier. My group surf fished every day and caught fish every day. From croaker,mullet, to Spanish and blues. We saw dolphins several days from the beach. Good ocean view from the top deck, a few feet higher and we could’ve saw the waves crashing. Dune path is narrow for a cart if you use one. All in all it was a great trip!

Cute house great location great view beach is right there. Jacuzzi was great and outdoor showers were wonderful. Just the right size. Well stocked kitchen. Minuses place was filthy when we arrived. There were2 broken chairs and wine fridge was broke. Mgt responded quickly when I called. Dune trail is overgrown. Didn’t like the fact that the primary shared a jack n Jill bath. And I didn’t like the excessive fees that were tacked on to rental

Great views

The views were absolutely breathtaking. I enjoyed my coffee every morning on the deck. The walk over the dunes were completely normal for the outer banks. The main issue with this home is related to vacasa. They do not hold their cleaning staff accountable. When we arrived the home was incredibly dirty! They were very responsive to my complaint and willing to send people out but nobody wants strangers in their house cleaning after you arrive. I would rather arrive to a clean home. Be prepared for lots of pet hair!!

Pictures poorly represent the bedrooms in this house. It’s very outdated

This house was very dirty inside with roaches in one of the bathrooms. The internet was bad. The upstairs air was poor with a dirty filter. Trash outside on the ground. Old food on the “outside grill”. Microwave door cracked. Broken outside furniture. This was our first bad experience with a VRBO rental. We came home two days early! We have asked for our cleaning fee back as the house wasn’t cleaned for us!

Unfortunate stay

We stayed in this home last year, overall good experience with some minor flaws as expected. This year we arrived to an atrociously dirty home at 6pm. 4 pm is already late then being pushed to 6 is even more unfortunate. Upon arrival we open the door and see sand everywhere and I’m not talking the little expected sand, I’m talking a lot. Evidence of a quick brush of floors but not vacuumed. Sand filled tub, old residents items left behind, visibly dirty surfaces in all rooms. No Wi-Fi connection, cable not working in 2 bedrooms, toilet that kept running. Very poorly maintained and managed. While Vacasa did try to help, it certainly dampened our trip as now myself and other family had to deep clean the home, make several phone calls to address above issues. Minimal compensation was given to us for our unfortunate stay. These events could happen in any home I am aware of that. We may consider pausing obx trips until they can get better staffing. Vacasa still blaming ‘COVID’ for issues.

Great Location - Vacasa is just average

Close to the beach and within walking distance of several restaurants in Avon. The main floor was not vacuumed but the the bathrooms were cleaned. The electronic keypad ceased working. After returning from the beach we were locked out of the house. Thankfully, a sliding door was left open. I contacted Vacasa and was told someone would come out to fix it only to be called back to say that wasn't going to happen. I was told it would be fixed the next morning. Vacasa never contacted me again about it. The door could not be locked from the outside as a result. A toilet was also constantly running and had to be stopped manually. Eventually, it stopped being used. Never bothered trying to get that repaired during the week since the lock on the door resulted in no urgency on the part of Vacasa. I paid $2,896 for the week. The same week next year is $5,189. Not sure if Vacasa or the owner (if not Vacasa) jacked the price up but the house is not worth that. Seems as if they are going to price the house out of the market.

A disgrace to the Outer Banks

I've been vacationing at the Outer Banks for more than 20 years and always had wonderful experiences at the locally managed properties. Vacasa, an entity based 3,000 miles away, has turned the Outer Banks into a nightmare for the properties it controls, including this "Beach Stars" house. On the day of my arrival Vacasa sent me an email saying that there were "driving directions below". There were no driving directions in that email. There was a link to Google maps that took me to an intersection of the main highway a quarter mile away from the actual house, which was down two pitch dark roads past the intersection with no visible street number. When I frantically called Vacasa's 800 "emergency" number to explain that I was stranded and unable to find the house, the call was answered by a woman who told me she had no idea where I was and anyway she was home for the evening. The call was disconnected and there was no call back to find out if I was ok. When I finally managed to find the house I also found filthy floors; bathrooms coated with dirt and hairs from the previous tenants; an unemptied dishwasher; dead waterbugs; and no internet service. I again contacted the Vacasa 800 line folks for their "help" regarding the latter, and they promised to get back to me the next day. Guess what, they didn't. Please don't stay here unless your idea of a vacation is a nightmare arrival followed by a series of ugly suprises.

Can't beat the location.

Beach design with upstairs open floorplan on the top and four bedrooms below. Old unit that is well kept with modern upgrades where necessary. Easy- clean engineered flooring throughout both levels. Two zone heating/cooling. All of the kitchen utensils you could ever need. Coffee machine is a hybrid Keurig/large pot variety. A private narrow trail over two sets of dunes is a pretty walk to the beach with beautiful scenery. For someone with mobility issues the trek can be quite a challenge. Luckily less than two doors down there is a public beach access with steps and a handrail. The ocean waves are visible from the upstairs deck which is a perfect place to relax and watch the surf while sitting on new Adirondack style chairs. The downstairs deck, with the hot tub, is blocked by the massive dune.

Free as a Bird

The beach was gorgeous and the home was beautiful! Loved the location with nearby restaurants and stores. Avon is more quiet and much less populated than Nags Head and Kitty Hawk area. The home should have been cleaner and supplied with adequate towels and wash cloths. Only had 3 each for 8 people.

Needs Some TLC

Although this home was ideal for location to beach, it left ALOT to be desired … this home was DIRTY. 3 of beds not made, floors were nasty, rugs not vacuumed towels were provided but not put in bathrooms. Major leaks in sliding glass doors water running thru length of living area so sad this home has great potential.

Amazing View, Dirty House

We were so excited to arrive to this perfectly placed, ocean-front property and immediately enjoyed the amazing decks overlooking the dunes and the ocean. Our pup loved it too. The top floor is almost all windows and is light and bright and a great place to hang. However, we almost immediately noticed that the place was, well, filthy. The floors were and counters had crumbs and dust all over them, despite us being assured that a cleaning crew had visited the property. There was sand in some of the beds. The couch cushions and blanket were visibly dirty and stained. The outdoor shower was literally filled with sand, feet high. The outdoor crate of beach supplies, which initially seemed like an awesome touch, was filled with dangerously sharp and rusty items that were caked in mold. It was as if this place has no true people overseeing the property. We also had to call maintenance to fix all of the dining room chairs that were about to collapse. We truly loved our vacation and if the cleaning and maintenance issues are addressed, it will be a gem. But, based on other reviews and reviews of the cleaning service in Avon, NC, it sounds like no one is capable of properly cleaning this place currently, which is extra gross in the middle of a pandemic. The price, the proximity to the beach and the amazing view from the deck are 5-star, but book with caution if you care about cleanliness. There are no real cleaning supplies so we had to buy our own. Also, we were without internet the first day because the service was down. However, the support team had us up and running very quickly and were very responsive.

We will definitely be returning to this house

The view of the ocean and proximity to the beach made Beach Stars one of our favorite houses to ever have rented in OBX. I deducted one star because the pathway over the dunes needs to be pruned pretty badly. Other than that, this house was perfect for our family of 4 and our Labrador.

Ocean Front!

This property could be very nice if it the floors were vacuumed before we arrived. Very dirty upstairs and downstairs. When we arrived we only had 2 rolls of toilet paper for 5 people. Called the office to get more, they did send more right away since 2 rolls weren’t going to last for a week. I feel that I should have been paid for all the cleaning I did! I left the house in better shape than when we arrived. The area is great, very private for the week we were here. I did enjoy the house but I guess the owner just did enough painting throughout the house to get by.
