à propos de cet hébergement
Eagle`s Cove on Damariscotta Lake by Rocky Coast Rentals
Sunny, expansive property on Damariscotta Lake
The homeâs layout is ideal for entertaining large gatherings with a centrally located, fully equipped kitchen leading to a dining area with seating for up to 10. A beautiful light-filled family room offers panoramic views of the surrounding lawns, towering trees and beautiful Damariscotta lake. The expansive wraparound deck is furnished with comfortable seating, a coffee table with an exciting gas fire feature and a large alfresco dining table with Weber grill.
Set on over five verdant acres, the lake house overlooks a private cove on the quiet end of picturesque Damariscotta Lake. Heavily treed with mature oak, towering eastern white pine, maple, birch and ash, itâs a short walk down the path to the water where you can sit back and enjoy the spectacular sunsets over the water on the seasonal private dock. Home to loons, heron and eagles our cove is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Thereâs a picturesque estuary just a short paddle south where you can glide through thousands of lily pads and perhaps watch a blue heron fish for its dinner.
When youâre ready to venture out, a quick 5-minute drive takes you to the quintessential Maine town of Damariscotta - one of Maineâs most charming villages. The twin villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle boast dozens of unique shops and excellent restaurants. The attractive coastal towns of Camden, Rockport and Boothbay are all less than an hour away. A 25-minute drive will also take you to the iconic Pemaquid light house as well as the sandy shores of Pemaquid beach.
Eagleâs Cove is truly an exceptional property in an equally extraordinary area of Mid-Coast Maine. Book your Maine adventure today to get away from the grind, reconnect with loved ones and make memories that will last a lifetime.
LIVING AREA
An abundance of windows flood the living and dining rooms with sunlight. Two french doors lead to the generous deck creating a marvelous indoor/outdoor living space. In the evening, relax on the large living room sofa and stream the newest shows on the 55â smart TV. A wood-burning fireplace provides added allure in the cooler months.
On the 2nd floor landing is a charming reading nook with a sofa and a children`s library.
KITCHEN & DINING
Generous stone countertops, high-end stainless steel appliances, and a walk-in pantry are sure to please home chefs. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, a 4-burner gas range and enough place settings for a large gathering. The kitchen, dining and living rooms are open to each other ensuring that conversations flow effortlessly as meals are prepared. Many wonderful dinner parties have been hosted at the large farm house table that seats up to 10!
BED & BATH
Sleep soundly on a king-size bed with hotel-quality linens in the primary bedroom. Spa-like features of the en-suite bathroom include a double vanity, a deep clawfoot bathtub, and a walk-in shower.
The second bedroom (the bunk room) is perfect for little ones or single guests and holds four matching twin-size beds along with skylights and a large walk-in closet.
The third bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and a chic desk, while the fourth bedroom includes a queen bed. The first-floor powder room also includes a walk-in shower. The upstairs third bathroom includes a tub/shower combination. All 4 bedrooms have their own air conditioning as does the living room and the upstairs hallway keeping the house cool and comfortable in the hotter summer months.
OUTDOOR AREA & AMENITIES
The wraparound deck is the perfect place for evening drinks and hor dâoeuvres while enjoying sunsets over the lake. Comfortable lounge seating centers around a coffee table that converts to a gas firepit to keep off the evening chill. A Weber grill is provided to barbecue meals and dine alfresco at a table that seats eight. Below the deck is a fire pit for marshmallow roasting and smores making.
Extra perks include complimentary Wi-Fi and a large laundry room with front loading washer and dryer. Parking is available for two cars in the driveway. Street parking is not permitted.
THE LOCATION
A wide path just downhill from the deck guides you to the lake. Take a dip on warm days or bring your own canoe or paddleboard to explore the wetlands just past the beaver lodge on the point.
The seasonal dock is pulled from the water during the fall and reinstalled in May. The dock extends 50 feet over the water and is perfect for launching a canoe, kayak or even a small motorboat however we do not offer watercraft at this time.
Wildlife abounds on the property. You will likely fall asleep to the mournful call of the loons on the lake. King fishers and heron also make the lake their home. For those of you who want to try their luck at fishing, Damariscotta Lake is home to a number of bass fishing competitions. In the lake there are, alewife, trout, pickerel, perch and both large and small mouth bass. In the woods there are martin, red fox, chipmunk, squirrel and deer. There is an enormous bald eagleâs nest high up in an eastern white pine just past our cove. Bald eagles can be seen soaring over the cove and often perch in a large pine just above the point by the estuary.
Explore the dozens of the coves and the many islands on Damariscotta Lake, a water-wonderland that provides phenomenal bird watching and fishing over itâs 10-mile length. Within walking and paddle boarding distance is Damariscotta Mills â a charming neighborhood beach and swimming area.
In the winter, when the conditions are right, ice fishing, sledding, ice skating and cross-country skiing are just steps away.
Explore the village of Damariscotta and all itâs charming shops like Renys and The Maine Coast Bookstore. Dine at local favorites like the Newcastle Publick House, King Eiderâs Pub and the Damariscotta River Grill. Pay a visit to Fernaldâs Country Store for a great sandwich or visit Walzâs Soda Fountain Shop, the real deal, established in 1948.
Venture further out and drive just 17 miles to Boothbay Harbor and embark on a scenic cruise of the Gulf of Maine or charter a trip to Monhegan and Vinalhaven Islands. The historic seaside town of Camden with itâs harbor full of sailing ships and charming 19th century architecture is just 30 miles north.
