Orange You Glad Cottage - A Fishermanâs Paradise in sunny Matlacha
Consider this canal front cottage your home away from home while you visit Matlacha. This wonderful property features 2 bedrooms - one with a queen bed and the other with 2 twin beds. There are 2 full bathrooms equipped with all the essentials. Guests will feel right at home. The bedrooms are on separate floors as are the bathrooms. The kitchen and livingroom are located on the 2nd floor of the home. The covered 2nd floor deck provides a beautiful view of the water, the sunset and enjoying the outside while being protected by the sun and an occasional rain shower. Youâll enjoy watching the mullet jump, the dolphin sightings and the sounds of the osprey. You will also see many ibis, roseate spoonbills and bald eagles. Plus as an added bonus enjoy the enclosed outdoor hot water shower right on the canal. Perfect for showering after a day of fishing or the beach. Relax on the back dock inches from the peaceful canal where you can dock your own boat on the 5,000 lb boat lift.
This cottage is among the mangroves of Matlacha Pass with fantastic fishing. Itâs just minutes away from the open waters of Charlotte Harbor which leads you to Cayo Costa, Boca Grande and The Gulf of America. The boat ramp with trailer parking is a very short walking distance away. Beach towels and chairs are provided for trips to the beautiful beaches of Sanibel, Gasparilla and Cayo Costa. If you prefer a pool and water aerobics, it is a quick drive to the Pine Island Community Pool located 3 miles away at the 4 way stop on Pine Island. This is a beautiful pool and is open to the public for a daily rate of $3. Many people enjoy fishing from the Matlacha Bridge also known as â the worldâs fishingest bridgeâ.
Walk to The Perfect Cup for breakfast or lunch, CW Fudge Shop for delicious candy treats and ice cream and The Blue Dog for an outstanding dinner. Yucatan is a tropical and fun restaurant/bar on the water and is very close by. You could cook your fresh catch on the outdoor grill provided. Matlacha is a small village that you will enjoy touring on the two bicycles provided. There is parking for 1 vehicle only. Our place will help you feel at home while you're staying in Matlacha.

We first visited Matlacha in 2007 during our search for a winter get away from the cold northeast. That being a beautiful island in New Jersey called Brigantine. Great place in the summer - not so nice in the cold winters. We immediately knew Matlacha was a place we wanted to be a part of as it had so much to offer. We love boating and fishing during the day and the beautiful community pool which is a short distance from our home. The restaurants and bars are some or the best you will fine. We like all the small shops that line the main street in the center of town. We are still on the rebound from the hurricanes that hit us hard. It appears we will be rebuilt stronger when all is done.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
The neighborhood is all about relaxation with a laidback lifestyle. If you like boating and fishing youâre in the right place. If you like taking a walk or bike ride, no problem. The neighbors will wave to you. They are all very friendly. The restaurant and bars are excellent and have great food. Most are in walking distance or a short drive. The food markets are also close by and are very modern.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
Itâs a very cozy place to hangout and chill out. Nice to sit next to the water with a cool drink or bird watching from the upper deck.Donât be surprised to see the dolphins swimming in the canal looking for a morning meal. If you have a boat you can dock in the backyard. The home is very well kept and very clean with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a new washer and dryer to do laundry. The beachy/tropical decor will add to the relaxed feeling you will enjoy.
