I am sorry that the ??mildew smell was an issue. The cleaning lady the day before made sure the dehumidifier was on and the house was aired out with doors and windows open. The reason the light switch did not turn on is because the switch on the post at the bottom of the stairs has to be turned on to make both sections of the bathroom to work. That information is in the three ring binder on the table as well If there were issues my phone number was available for you to call, if you were having any issues with your stay. Your comments help me do better with my instructions and the followup with the cleaning personal to get it right for the best possible stay.

I gave the next house guests the info about the map system taking them to the wrong house. I also thank you for your kind words. reviewed the address as well as the hedge along the front of the house and the Deck and ramp at the front of the house.I am really glad that the furnishings met your needs and that a little history about antiques (the living room Day bed that can be enlarged) was helpful. Hopefully the next trip will also be when the house is open. Not during the time the house is closed.

The house already has a dehumidifier in the basement. The cleaning lady knows if there were a need for its use she would. Previous renters (5 groups) had no issues. Also the 3 ring binder has all information on the house functions and states if you have any questions or issues to call me with my number posted at anytime. No one called about any issues. I also have no idea what she meant by bad chairs??? There is a Captains and side chair in the master bedroom that would carry the weight of almost any size person. The upholstered slipper chair in the back bedroom is a comfortable ladies chair. The antique Captains chair in the middle bedroom is a family antique with a cushion. The 4 Dining room chairs are high back cane chairs with thick upholstered seats and the two kitchen chairs were my grandmothers. This process has worked for my property and VRBO for many years. To my knowledge there has only been one issue when a plumbing issue that took two hours to fix caused a renter to want an adjustment. Also pictures show what is being rented

I spoke personally to the guest. Her house guest was the one with the most negative response...Apparently she had a problem with the two pictures in the front bedroom because she has issue with christian pictures which are shown in the photographs of the house in the add. She was also unhappy with the memorabilia collection of Beer signs with hunting and fishing images as well as some decanters of American Legion bottles from yearly conventions. She apparently is recovering from one of her issues. The house was thoroughly cleaned less than a week from their arrival. The caregiver did not run the Dehumidifier in the basement which may have caused a musty odor? She is now making sure she runs the dehumidifier in case there are some lingering smells from a closed up basement. She is also opening windows and running the attic fan as to also pull any smells out of the house before anyone arrives. They were the second guests since the house was closed last November. The first visitors had no issues. Doing what I can to make all stays to the VRBO standard Thank you Allen Cejka owner.

Thanks for your review. Feedback helps me to more efficiently improve my space to meet everyone's needs. Sorry to hear about some dust bunnies... I will talk to the caretakers about the mishap.

thanks for giving me that information... I am not sure what lights were not working? Some of the living room lights work on the on off two way switch..if it was turned off at the lamp ? it will not work with the switch. the bathroom lights work only if the single switch is on then the other switch will work. If there were lights with bulbs out ? I will make sure the cleaning person checks all lamps for working bulbs. Will check on Direct TV for operating instructions to help with TV isssue

I am sorry that there was a water backup issue....I cannot control a plumbing issue. The minute I was informed of the issue I had a plumber scheduled to take care of the issue. The renter originally said 2 people were going to be there Her conversation said there were 4? I have stated in all my commentary "That if there was an issue to contact me.Other than the telling there was a water back up there was no other response. I don't know if the problem is solved till I get a bill. I am 1000 miles away. The plumber fixed the problem and moved on. The use of an attic fan would remove any musty smell that occurred.To give advice a call was never made to me. There were renters in the house just a few days before they arrived. There was no issue with that client.

Sorry you were unhappy with the property. It is called the homestead for a reason it is my family homestead. It has collectables and family items in the house. it was built in the late 50's and early 60's I am not able to see any issues with the house because I live 997 miles away. Covid prevented me from the normal spring clean up and check for issues to be repaired by me. Apparently the people I hired to process the house did not meet your standards. Other renters were ok with what they paid for. I am so glad you think looking In the freezer in the basement is one of your tasks... Also canned goods that are out of date should not be your concern. They were there for me when I came to check the house. They were not there for your consumption. I just found out about the water leak in the bathroom stool area. It is being taken care of.The sink water I know nothing about ???? My caretaker apparently was not having problems with it. But I will have it looked into. All I can do is take your review for what it is and work on issues to accomodate other guests with the best I have to offer.

I am 1000 miles away..the house keeper and caretaker check the property to be ready for the guests. The shelf in the guest Bedroom has a collection of decanter bottles on the shelf They are in the photographs of the house guest claimed bathroom was not clean... What items did not meet with her approval. Was it the Sink? the floor? the stool the Bathtub? Bathtub is original to the house so it is old 1959 to 2023 it would show some ware.Note it is called the homestead. It is still used by the owner. The AC has a remote control and is a larger size to cool the area. This when guests are there unless there is an issue. the first time a vehicle has ever been in the drive way. Sorry there was a cob web behind door in Living room.Have never had this issue before. Sorry you had those issues You were given my number to contact me if there were issues that needed attention.
