My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay that was affordable and also by the beach. We stayed at the pacific inn at the pacific beach area. The location was fantastic. We were so close to bird rock and La Jolla and of course the grand perk was staying by the pacific beach board rock. It also was near windandsea beach. You can’t beat this location. When we arrived our ac was out and the fronts desk staff had no issue in taking care of us. They offered us a different room to accommodate our needs. The only downside is parking can be hard to find because it’s a pretty popular area with great bars and nightlife. Other that that we had the perfect stay.

Many positives. The location was fantastic. The rooms were very clean and our kingsize bed was excellent. The staff was very nice. The room was quite small (but was fine for two of us). One frustration was that the tiny refrigerator had no freezer section. That coupled with the fact that the hotel had no ice made our beach food and drink options very limited. Overall, I would say that it was a very good value for the cost.

The host was very responsive. Easy check in at the front desk and friendly front desk staff. Parking was sold out when I got there, but I was able to find street parking nearby.

The property location was great right by the beach. I could even hear the sound of waves in my room. The room was clean.The only drawback was a non operating coffee machine and also the bathroom door. The bathroom doors were rolling doors so the bathroom was not sound proof at all.

We called to see if we could check in early and we were told that check in was at 4:00 and there would not be any early check ins which was fine with us so we arrived at 4:00 to be told that our room was not ready so we waited 30 minutes to check in almost missing our dinner reservation. The room was not as expected from the photos. There was no view other than a brick wall. There was only one very tiny bedside table with no bedside lighting. The room also smelled like a toxic bleach that was so strong we had to open our windows and turn the air as low as it would go while we went to dinner. We asked for a different room and the host responded that all 3rd party sites only get brick wall views. They were no help at all. Upon returning from dinner our room had aired out but now smelled of mold or a wet dirt/mulch. Good news was that it was clean bad news was the air was not. It looked recently remodeled which was nice but the shower was way to narrow and they hung the shower curtain to far on the inside so it stuck to us while showering! Gross! We are very small so anyone bigger beware. There was no closet and the only hanging space was on a rack that was so short that no adult pant or top would fit without touching the bottom. I would not stay here again mainly due to the smell. The location was great! The price was very reasonable for that area and we should have known it was too good to be true.

Location was amazing - right next to the beach. Tons of good food nearby. Service was really friendly - Gray was really helpful getting us checked in, and everyone else was super helpful and friendly too.
