The place was better than pictured! They had everything we needed (laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc). The condo itself was much larger feeling than expected and the views were literally breath taking from all windows! After hiking all day we did puzzles and relaxed. The one night we even hiked at the resort for berries and found a ton. Included picts of our hike on resort. Everyone we encountered was so kind and happy. I would go back in a heart beat!
family had a great week-long stay at whitefish. property was as described, spacious enough for all 4 of us to have some personal space, clean, and convenient to both the slopes and SNOW bus. Condo had everything we needed. We would stay here again.
We stayed 4 nights for skiing. Everything, the condo, the view, the location, was perfect. Super easy to walk to lifts. Bars/restaurants within walking distance. Easy drive to town. Communication with Charlie was easy and he responded immediately to questions. It was an amazing stay and the skiing was wonderful.
Well maintained property with all the essentials. The owner allows use of his ski locker, huge benefit, considering the locker is 100m from a lift! Perfect location, quiet complex, lots of space to spread out.
Loved the location of the condo. Our only suggestion is a queen bed upstairs rather than fold out. The condo isnât really set up for two couples, but rather a family. We had everything we needed. Loved the hike up Danny On and riding the lift down. The area is fantastic.
Unit 312 of the Edelweiss complex on Big Mountain in Whitefish, Montana offered a great view and opportunities for lots of exercise.
Biking and hiking are two of the more popular summer activities.
Charlie was available for any questions about the property. He even gave us heads up about them having turned the water off for maintenance on the day of our arrival. It was a heads up so that we would need to know before arriving. But the water was on.
The property was in excellent condition With a beautiful view. We would anyone to book this facility.
Thank you Charlie for use of your home away from home.
Don and Georgie Mackall and friends
The place was spotless upon arrival, the layout is very functional and it is perfectly located on the mountain. Charlie contacted me shortly after check-in to make sure there we got there OK and that there were no issues, which we appreciated. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds very were comfortable. We would definitely rent this place again.
The property was as described. Plenty of Space for a family of 5 with 3 Teen boys. Next door to the Bierstube and Across from Ed and Mullys. Both have food and drinks. It had everything we needed. We arrived on Christmas Day and no grocery stores were open so we did an InstaCart order from the Safeway Grocery Store and it was delivered to our door the next morning at 7:30 which was a life saver!! Super close to Life 1 2 & 3. Beautiful Views.
If you are hoping to use all 8 places to sleep, don't count on it. There is a small uncomfortable futon that would sleep someone under 5 feet tall. No way would it work for two adults to share.
Unit was very clean. Downstairs bedroom offered privacy while the upstairs beds did not. This was the only downfall of the unit. We enjoyed the views looking of the balcony, parking was never an issue. The unit served as a base for our day trips to several locations in Glacier National Park and up into Canada to Prince of Wales. Would stay again.
We had a wonderful time! We were here for a wedding, but also had time to explore. Our rental host was excellent in communicating with us upon arrival. Highly recommend ... and we will be back!
My friends and I stayed at this condo for 18 days in late January to mid February, and we had a great time. Here is a summary of positives/negatives of our stay.
Positives:
-- Great location, literally ~100 yards from lifts
-- Amazing views from condo living area. Views of Flathead Valley and distant mountains. Great sunrises/sunsets and inversions.
-- Fully stocked kitchen; pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, etc
-- Bierstube apres ski ~1-2 minute walk.
-- No need a car since free shuttles to the base area, town, dining, grocery shopping, liquor store, etc. Shuttle ~4-6 minute walk from condo with regular schedule.
-- Access to large ski locker in a shared, heated room with a bathroom. Locker has an electrical outlet inside for easy boot drying or other device charging. Locker has enough room for several pairs of skis/poles but a little tight for same number of boots and/or helmets without.
-- Separate thermostats for each room.
-- Plenty of towels and washcloths.
-- Charile (the owner) was accommodating and generally quick to respond to requests/questions before/during our stay.
-- A ski shop is located ~3 minute walk.
Negatives:
-- Outside stairs getting to condo and inside to loft. Although condo is on the 3rd floor, outside entry stairs are only 2 flights of stairs due to slope of land is higher on entry side of condo. Position of first floor actually lower/down stairs than the condo main stairs entry point.
-- Upstairs loft does not have a door, although typical for lofts, but would have been nice to have a privacy door entering the loft.
-- Common/shared laundry; not inside condo. 2 washers/2 dryers. Laundry has change machine, laundry soap/dryer sheets vending.
-- Jacuzzi not operational during our stay, and did not learn this until we were on site. Very disappointed although not the condo owner's fault.
-- Fireplace flue was always open and could not be closed allowing a cold draft when not in use. Found a work-around placing the fireplace poker in a position to hold flue closed, but required careful positioning of handle to wedge against the metal log grate; it was actually a perfect fit.
-- Although the listing indicates the condo was remodeled recently, the kitchen, appliances, bathrooms were very dated and could have been updated during the remodeling. However, all appliances and facilities were functional.
Clean properly, ski-in and out by Chairs 2 and 6. Coin-operated laundry was nearby (short walk) and clean. Kitchen was fully stocked with tools/utensils. Owner was super responsive and helpful. Kids had a blast playing the Wii during downtime. Had an awesome vacation and would book here again.
Would have given it a 5 if the Edelweiss hot tub was functional for the kids.
Only 3 of us (me and two daughters) but the condo would have been more than comfortable with more. The location is perfect. Walking distance to lifts, next door to beirstube.
My only issue was the listing said hot tub but it was either being renovated or doesnt exist any more.
Other than that, the owner, property and location were all great. Would definitely stay again.
Great location, ski in-ski out. Our company enjoyed being so close to the lifts, 1 minute of walking. At lunch time we would come back to the condo, warm up, have lunch and go back to the slopes.
The bathroom door lock wasn't working but that was minor.
One thing that needs improving is the double futon sofa sleeper on the second floor. We used it for a couple and it's too small, too hard to sleep on.
Otherwise, we enjoyed the vacation.
This was a warm and inviting home away from home! It is located towards the top of the mountain on ski resort property. Though we didn't stay for skii season, it is super convenient to be that close if skiing is on your agenda! We booked this VRBO with intentions to drive into Glacier National Park. it is about 50mins to the west entrance and about 15 mins into town.
The kitchen was surprisingly very very stocked! from all cookware (including a rice cooker!) and even a variety of spices beyond just salt and pepper, cooking was convenient and very accommodating for our needs!
All beds were comfy and just what we needed after exploring the NP all day. Laundry is also available (coin operated) on the bottom floor.
All in all, i would stay here again. thanks for a great stay :)
Location was great, very close to the lift and alpine slides, beautiful setting. The condo was not maintained to professional standards. We found many left over food items stashed in the fridge, freezer and cabinets. Dishes were not clean and mismatched. Not all beds had sheets on them and closets and dressers were filled with extra bedding items, therefore no real space for our belongings. Overall the place had a disheveled feel to it. Our recommendation is to look for another place to stay while visiting the beautiful area
We couldnât have asked for a better place to stay in Whitefish! The condo was clean well appointed and comfortable. It had everything we needed and a great view too!
My wife and I have two girls aged 12 and 14 and we love to spend our winters in the mountains skiing. We totally fell in love with Whitefish Mountain Resort and the town of Whitefish during ski trips to the area. We live on Camano Island on Puget Sound in Washington State. We love boating and spending time on the water in the summer and on the snow in the winter. When we aren't at our condo in Montana we can be found in our RV slopeside at Stevens Pass, or out on Puget Sound boating.
You can't beat the quality of the skiing, the community, and the convenience of getting to Whitefish by either train, plane, or driving. We purchased this property because of the incredible value and location. You can't get closer to the village or the chairlifts than the Edelweiss condominiums. When we saw this top floor unit we realized its great potential with a little remodeling. The low ceiling was removed revealing a large vaulted ceiling and allowing for the addition of a new loft. Now this unit has plenty of room for the skiing family with room to spread out and relax after a busy day on the slopes.
This property was purchased for winter vacations, but after spending time there in the summer we have found that summer is just as enjoyable as the winter. The activities on the mountain along with the nearby lakes and trails and of course Glacier National Park make this a fabulous location year around.
The large upstairs bedroom has been set up as a separate living/sleeping area giving this unit 2 living areas so that kids and adults can have their own space. The upstairs window has a beautiful NW view of the ski runs and the downstairs balcony looks out to the SE and over the entire Flathead Valley.
