My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We adored the cabin and the deer nearby. The local people were so nice and helpful. We did the 5 and 1/2 mile gorge hike at Whetstone and visited Witaker Park. Our stay was everything we hoped it would be. Highly recommend!!!
This was our third time at the cabin. It is lovelyâspotlessly clean and a great place to stay while visiting family! You do have to be careful of water use because itâs a reserve tank and not a well, but we have never run out of water. Bonnie is super responsive to any questions!
The property description is accurate, cute little cabin, secluded in quiet setting. Bigfoot wonât fit in bathroom though. Bonnie was great and receptive.
Cozy little cabin in the woods! We really enjoyed the peacefulness and great access to trails. Perfect place to warm up after a Hike! The cabin was very clean, fully functional, and nicely decorated.
Thank you again Bonnie! We absolutely loved staying at Black Bear Cabin. The cabin was decorated just absolutely adorable! It had everything you might need available right there. It was clean, comfortable and just so cozy. It was nice and private with no one else too close, just the deer passing through. There was no issues at all there. Just a wonderfully perfect experience. I would definitely recommend staying there. We would love to stay again!! Thanks a million
Stayed 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Terrific location, very secluded and private. Cozy little cabin with basic amenities, it was exactly what we hoped it to be.
Looking forward to returning for another stay in the future.
We had a wonderful timeâcheck in was a breeze, and the cabin is lovely and comfortable, and quiet (except for the wildlife, which is what we were there for! As is mentioned, the water is from a tank, so we were very conservative with water use and had no problem!
I rented the cabin for a snowmobile trip. The trail is 1.3 miles away. The cabin is beautiful. My only complaints were, I was not aware of water needing to be reserved. This made for no long hot shower after the ride. I donât recall it in the description but I have been known to skip finer details. The only door in and out did not open all the way making it difficult to get in and out with gear.
The positives the cabin was clean, the ambiance was perfect, there was two sources of heat. It was super quiet. No one was using the other cabins surrounding. There were some dishes to use and the kitchen was fully functioning. I plan on going back again.
We loved the cabin - it was very private, inviting, cozy and had everything we needed - what a wonderful place to relax, unwind and kick back for a few days - our host was very accessible and helped us every time we had a question - we especially appreciated the unique and beautiful hiking trails nearby
Perfect cozy cabin for the hubby and I to hide out for the weekend and enjoy the fall foliage. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We will be booking again.
This was the perfect getaway! Bonnieâs Black Bear Lodge had everything we needed⊠and then some! Beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. And the bed is amazingly comfortable!! Nearby hiking is excellent and itâs a great location to surrounding areas (Old Forge). Will definitely return!!
Booked this cozy cabin with my wife and son and it was better than expected. We had a great time spending quality family time. There were movies and games available and a fire pit with a great view of the mountains. I would definitely love to visit again
Bonnie was excellent and the Cabin Was very Very nice! But I specifically booked it because of the Fireplace was listed as an amenity! The day before check her after contacted Bonnie she sent us the information for Checking in and included that the Fireplace was not operating because of a cracked Chimney which she couldnât get fixed because of Winter.....I understand things happen but that should be removed as an Amenity. Upon further investigation I read some reviews that the Fireplace didnât work when other people were there in 2019....So this has been an ongoing problem! Bonnie was a great Host and when we had a problem with the heater staying in she contacted me back immediately and was ready to send someone to help!! Just Air in the lines because after relighting it about 5 times it was fine the rest of the Stay....Please remove Fireplace from Amenities until It gets fixed because that was one of the main Amenities I Was looking for and Was Very Disappointed.
On paper the listing looks great there are a couple flaws though. 1. The property manager has no way of knowing how much water is in the tank, it's only a 300 gallon tank, we ran out of water the first night they came over the next day to fill it. So someway to check water level would be nice I would use a pvc pipe that you can measure it with. The fireplace is advertised as it doesn't work that is true I asked the owner if it works she said yes we used it one night I was not able to get the damper open the whole way which is kind of needed. There was no firewood when we got there stacked inside there was a little bit outside we had to go get it ourselves which isn't too bad they provide it for you in a big pile still an inconveince since the ad says there is some there. Overall the cabin was warm and cozy what we were looking for but it has some flaws the major one is not knowing how much water you have left. It was an ok stay would definitely do with some updates.
Black Bear Cabin did not disappoint. It was very cozy and romantic for our anniversary celebration. Bonnie our host was fantastic. She responded immediately if I had a question.
The cabin is somewhat secluded. We were lucky that the time of year had close neighbors not around.
I would suggest a new mattress and better bedding. The sofa futon mattress/cushion also needs update. We sat in the two chairs that were more comfortable than the futon couch.
We will definitely revisit this cabin again.
It is hard to truly know what you are going to get when you book something online based on pictures and reviews. This place did not come close to disappointing. Clean, cozy, quaint, and peaceful are just a few words to describe this cabin in the woods. It was everything I was hoping for. Campfires ate night and many hiking trails close by to keep us busy during the day. Bonnie was extremely responsive and helpful whenever needed. She also took the time to drop of a rack for grilling on the fireplace. Not necessary but appreciated. Grade = A+++++
My husband and I purchased this property to expand the camping pleasure to others with this great little cabin. We own a few more in the area, and plan to add a few more to this 12 acre plot of land. We are excited to develop this.
