We had a great stay here between days at Wild Adventure. So close to Downtown area and anything else you may need. Kids had a great time in the back yard and we felt safe knowing its fenced in. Old house but we enjoyed it very much.
The home is old and has lots of character and charm. It was clean and well decorated. So many chairs in the home. Itâs does need some repairs but thatâs to be expected with a house that old.
Really liked this distinguished older home with a fenced backyard. Very clean, nice bed linens etc. and nice kitchen. The large original doors in the hallway had been reset as sliding barn doors and they donât latch or stay fully shut (my dog kept nudging my cousinâs door open and the bathroom door to visit us (yes heâs a Velcro dog). We didnt need to open windows, but if weâd wanted to, or worse, needed to in emergency, we couldnât have because theyâre caulked shut. That should be corrected. Overall positive impression of house and host.
Disappointed! That is the best way I could describe our stay. First of all is noise. There is a 4 lane highway that runs directly behind the house, traffic noise, sirens etc. There are train tracks a short distance away, train horns all through the night. The back yard although fenced was unkept. The steps going out to the back yard are cracked, moldy and very slippery when wet. Outdoor furniture cushions were moldy and soiled. The brick patio was a hazard to walk across as tree roots have displaced most of the bricks. Finally the pictures of the interior were accurate except the furnishings are tired and worn. At one time this home was a beauty.
Charming Home with Character â Just Needs a Bit More Attention
We really enjoyed our stay in Valdosta. The home itself has so much character and is clearly thoughtfully designedâthereâs a lot to love about the space, from the layout to the overall vibe. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the house has a warmth that made us feel welcome. That said, there were a few details that seemed to be overlooked during the pre-arrival cleaning. Things like multiple nearly empty bottles of shampoo/conditioner that were no longer good and expired creamers in the fridge gave the impression that the space might not be fully reset between guests. While these are small things, they did stand out.Overall, I believe the host has created a truly lovely home, and with just a little more attention to upkeep and preparation, it could be an outstanding rental. Iâd still recommend it for travelers who appreciate unique, character-filled stays and donât mind a few imperfections.
The House itself was in terrible condition; it is literally rotting into the ground. Several floorboards throughout the home are corroding away while others are loose and/or misaligned. Itâs a lawsuit waiting to happen. Moreover, the furniture (excluding beds) was horribly uncomfortable and in some cases, damaged. Trains run by this property at all hours (we were awoken four times throughout the night), and there is a country-western bar less than a block away that pumps bass and loud music into the home late into the night. We will never use VRBO again as a result of this awful experience. Images of the derelict property can be provided if needed. I sincerely recommend that this home be stricken from your list of available providers.
We really enjoyed our stay. The internet was great, beds were super comfortable, yard was perfect for our doggies, and the coffee and treats were extra special!! Great for adults and for a stay on your way north or south!
The home was perfect while we were in town for VSU graduation. There was plenty of room to have a small gathering. Check in and out was easy and host is quick to respond to any questions. Would recommend if yor are in the area.
We enjoyed our time in this pet friendly home. It had a lot of charm and character and was very clean. We couldnât stay as we had to move on to our North Ga cabin but Valdosta was a great midway point driving from South Florida. It was close to the railroad tracks but not too loud.
We arrived late and just slept, left first thing next morning, it was comfortable and nice and clean. House is classic older home that has been updated nicely. It is not some cookie cutter built new home, but has the design and personality of a traditional southern home. From tall ceilings to 12" baseboards and original wood floors, it has character. We enjoyed our short visit and rested well.
Pleasant overnight stay. Some improvements needed to the backyard, but nice enough. Both bathtubs are extremely tall and are hard to get in out of. Comfortable beds.
This was our second visit to this home. Great older home close-by to lots of downtown attractions but still a quiet neighborhood. Beautiful three bedrooms, large dining room, fenced backyard. Lots of space for everyone to enjoy. Great home base while visiting many relatives in the area. Would definitely book again!
This was a beautiful, older home with modern features. The tubs were a little hard to get in and out of, but there were no real complaints. It was clean and perfect for our one night stay on our way to Florida.
House was the perfect size, great back yard equipped with toys for the kids! We had trouble with the living room TV, but Elana was incredibly helpful. She responded quickly and was able to troubleshoot the issues over the phone. Very clean and well-stocked. Would definitely stay here again!!
