Dome Sweet Dome at Antietam. Relax, Naturally! Relax, Naturally!

Our locally owned and operated Dome is the newest, most comfortable & (only!) accessible EV charger-equipped rental in the area. The Quonset dome is a short stroll from the C&O Canal, or Antietam Creek. Antietam Battlefield is 2 miles North, Harpers Ferry 10 miles South. Shepherdstown is just across the Potomac.
Bring your bikes, & use our racks (we have a cover & air pump you can use). You can rent bikes from us, or Pedal & Paddle in Sheptown. We rent float tubes, for a relaxing float down the creek. Ask about extras, including creek & trail shuttle (subject to availability) bird & nature walks, extra firewood, S’mores kits, & mobility classes. (Platforms restrict these services, so they are available via direct booking only, please inquire, if interested)
Luxuriate on the gorgeous paver patio by the fire pit on Adirondack Chairs, soaking in gorgeous sunsets over the Potomac River, where it meets Antietam Creek. Savor morning coffee (we stock coffee & teas) as you watch the sun rise, over Elk Ridge.
Even in winter, we have at least 25 species of native birds. The meadows of milkweed mean tons of butterflies, in summer. A large meadow just East of the Dome provides space to run & play. There are kid-sized toy balls, a Frisbee, in the chest on the porch, as well as a Cornhole game. The fire pit has a safe, easy Solo Stove insert, basic firewood & kindling supplied. There is a big sheltered area on the porch, for rainy days. There are tools for the grill, a charcoal chimney, & some charcoal.
Two queen beds with fresh linens, fluffy hotel pillows, cozy blankets & blackout curtains, let you rest up, for adventures.
The Great Room faces South, for passive solar heating, & unmatched light, to show off Emily’s photography, or illuminate your own sketches.
The kitchen is all new, thoughtfully equipped for real cooking, including oil & spices. There is a convection toaster oven & microwave. Cozy up on our luxurious LayZBoy recliner couch, in front of the E-fireplace, & watch what you want on the 50” smart TV via WiFi. Go hiking, running, biking, kayaking, do some superb bird & nature watching, or just get away from it all.

**NO vaping, smoking, or pets, indoors or out, anywhere on the property**.
Your hosts have dog allergies, & the farm next door asked us to not allow dogs (dogs can get loose & harass livestock). Cigarettes stink, cause wildfires, & vape stench is VERY hard to get rid of. Smoking or vaping will activate smoke alarms & fire sprinklers. Violation of rules will result in loss of deposit, extra cleaning fees, & possible administrative penalties. Violators will have 1 hour to leave the property. Send certifications of service animals. Thank you, for your kind understanding.

We do not use chemical air fresheners, or dryer sheets. There are wool dryer balls, & washing powder scented with lavender essential oil, & an essential oil diffuser. Let us know if you are allergic to any essential oils. We do use small amounts of MicroBan & antibacterial cleaners, to ensure safety, for our guests. All towels & linens are new. Box springs are treated with essential oils & diatomaceous earth, mattresses & pillows have bedbug-proof covers. We’ve never had a problem, thankfully, but our approach is proactive.

We live next door, so we can be right there for you, if there is a problem. We love this area, its complex history, & the biodiversity it offers.

This means rentals have to raise their prices, to pay bills. This adds up to an extra +31%, for AB&B, & +10%, for VRBO. AB&B forbids hosts from promoting themselves independently, & censors host speech. The Broligarchs & real estate investment firms, don’t need more $$, as they jack up housing prices, & make living in desirable areas less affordable. The extra 16% you pay, and we pay, doesn’t go improve communities, or the environment. We put our profits back into our ecology, education & conservation work, at Antietam Dome.

We have a shower bench, toilet riser, & suction-on shower handle. The property is low fragrance- we do not use stinky air fresheners, only essential oils, ion air filters, & fresh air. This property is equipped with smoke alarms & fire sprinklers. We use bedbug-proof mattress & pillow covers, for all our sakes!
The main room has a barrel ceiling with lots of natural light, showcasing Emily’s photography. French doors lead to an expansive patio with Solo Stove fire pit, surrounded by a native plant garden.
