The Log House is a charming cabin in the midst of the Tennessee hardwood forrest. The 4 bedroom, 3 bath cabin is the perfect place to get out of the city and reconnect with nature. Outside hot tub ($50 set up fee) with view of the forest!
As a cabin in the woods, Log House is right in the middle of the abundant nature. Home to spiders, moths, caterpillars and tons of other wildlife. These natives occasionally explore the house and may surprise you; please let us know if you should encounter any of these critters. We consider them features rather than bugs!
The Log House is a quaint and charming cabin located in the woods of Big East Fork Conservation Easement. The house holds two large bedrooms upstairs, both with private bathrooms and two bedrooms downstairs with a shared bathroom. The living room, kitchen, and dining room are on the ground floor. Outside, there is a gorgeous old wraparound porch with rockers and a beautiful view of the woods. Outside hot tub. Many hiking trails. Walk to Lake Gratitude and non-profit Adventure Center.
The Log House sits at the top of a small hill outside Leiper's Fork. Lake Gratitude Natural Area is just next door and has great hiking trails and watercraft. Contact the non-profit Center for Sustainable Stewardship for access and bicycle rental.
We generally leave our guests alone, but may visit at an appropriate time to say hello.
There is bicycle and walking access onto the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway within a mile. This lodging is near Lake Gratitude, which lies at the beginning of a pristine creek within a gorgeous valley. The CSS Adventure Center (just down the hill} services bicycles and watercraft in exchanges for donations. 20 miles from downtown Nashville and 8 miles from historic Franklin and light years away from the stress of city life. The Fork Inn is part of a 1400-acre Conservation easement and features a 6-acre lake and many hiking trails. Enjoy biking, hiking, canoeing, massage and more! Nearby Big East Fork Farms is just down the hill and provides organic produce and sweet animals (donkey, cow, pigs, goats, chickens) for petting and interaction. Rosie the donkey and Winston the cow love attention (and veggies)!
If you do not LOVE nature, please do not come. We are surrounded by nature and sometime it even walks into the house on 2, 4, 6, or 8 legs!
TRASH. Please don’t dump on us! There is no trash collection in Big East Fork Valley. Someone has to remove the trash and take it to the dump or to town. If you do this yourself, your entire $100 Community Fee Trash Deposit will be returned to you. If you leave any un-bagged trash in the house or trash cans, you will forfeit your Community Trash Deposit Fee. If you leave bagged trash in the outside trash receptacles, you will be charged $5 per bag for its proper disposal. This can really add up! You may contract to have your bagged trash removed by a private party (A list of trash removers is on our web-site, www.theforkinn.com/3rdparties).
One of the best ways to reduce the volume of your trash is to separate organic materials that we may compost to make soil for our gardens. If you are checking out on noon Sunday, come bring your usable food, drink, and spirit to the Center for Sustainable Stewardship’s Community Brunch, held every Sunday noon at the CSS Farm, 5400 Big East Fork Rd. Meet, greet, and express gratitude to the people who have worked hard to make your stay memorable. It takes a village to prepare and maintain our valley and its houses. Meet the Chief Steward and members of CSS who maintain the trails, take care of watercraft, groom the hiking trails, and care for the farm animals. And meet the Fork Inn team that landscape the houses, clean the rooms, prepare the laundry, and service our guests to give them the unique experiences found in the Big East Fork Valley.
THE BASE PRICE IS FOR FOUR (6) PERSONS. There is a $40/person/night additional charge for the number of persons over six.
