Ce est l'une de mes maisons préférées. Il est parfaitement rénové pour garder le charme du vieux monde tout en apportant dans tous le confort d'aujourd'hui. Chaque chambre est meublée avec les meubles et accessoires de haute qualité. Vous ne voudrez pas pour le confort ou la beauté. De les lits de mousse de mémoire vers les serviettes en coton égyptien, nous ne avons épargné aucune dépense pour donner à nos clients le séjour le plus confortable possible. Situé dans l'un des quartiers les plus recherchés à Albuquerque, cette maison est parfaitement situé pour accéder à toutes les commodités de la ville.

Comfortable clean home in a perfect location

We had a great time at Doug's house in ABQ. Very comfortable and clean, and the kitchen was well stocked for all our cooking projects. The house is in a great location within walking distance of the University.

Very clean, nice place

The house is very cute, very clean and a perfect place for a short stay. Everything you need (including a corkscrew) is available. The only issue was with the VRBO app itself. It made communication with the property manager less than efficient. The house itself was very comfortable and clean.

Actually, the guest kept starting new communication threads. So I kept getting messages from someone who showed that they hadn't paid anything and I couldn't figure out who this person was. Guests I need to go to the reservation communicate directly from there. Then it is seamless.

Better Than Expected

I have used VRBO on several occasions and have not always been pleased with what I ended up with. Either the place was not as pictured or the location wasn't exactly as stated...NOT THIS TIME! This place exceed all expectations. It was nicely furnished, clean and well stocked. There were restaurants within walking distance and local attractions within a very short driving distance. Doug, our host, was extremely gracious and hospitable. In addition to providing us with tips on "things to do" and places to eat, he went out of his way to provided us with a BBQ grill which wasn't something he had listed as being available. I would definitely suggest this property to anyone who wanted a nice HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

Good value, floor plan has quirks

This is a well-maintained and furnished home. Very quiet. The only functional issues were with the front door knob (sticks) and some instructions to leave a light on all the time (it was annoying at night). The master suite is very nice, good kitchen, dining and living room spaces. However, the two double bedrooms are kind of cramped. In one, the bed is shoved up to one wall. In the other, there is barely room to get around the end of the bed to the closet. Neither bedroom is close to the shared bath, which is actually closer to the master suite. If we had understood that, we might have rented elsewhere since it was less relaxing to have to cross the house during the "morning routine." But if this is not an issue for you, I would recommend the house strongly. The owner was pretty quick to respond to messages when there was an accidental issue with entering the house at the beginning of our stay. So I definitely would recommend working with Doug!

A home built in 1908 is probably not for you. There will be sticky doors and narrow bedrooms. The standards were different back then. I have families that return year after year and tell me how much they enjoy the charm of the Silver Hill house. Check out the other reviews!

beautiful flowers, lovely inside space, well equipped but don't rent casita to chain smokers

As an extended family of 6, the inside space worked well for us. Very clean, well equipped, and comfortable. The front yard is gorgeous and back yard has potential but.....Doug rented the attached casita to two chain smokers (I am talking lighting one cigarette off another for hours on end). We shared backyard outside space, each patio separated by little fence. Casita has its patio, we had ours. But our outdoor patio was uninhabitable much of the time due to the cigarette smoke. We couldn't even keep the back porch door open due to the smoke. I would give it 5 stars if not for the smoking issue. The indoor space worked well - clean, updated, nice collective space. The two smaller bedrooms with queen beds are indeed a tight squeeze. We moved the beds over as much as possible so both sleepers could actually get out of bed on their own side, but the two smaller bedrooms are indeed a tight squeeze, and because of that one room had no bedside table/lamps. Not a major issue, just so you know. I moved a lamp from master bedroom to dresser of smallest room just so there was additional light.

Our properties are meticulously maintained with a no smoking and no pet policy. Unfortunately, I cannot control smoking that occurs on the outside patio. I detest smoking also but have learned that trying to eliminate it from a property is impossible so keeping it outside is the best I can maintain. The Casita patio is separated by a low wall from the house patio area. I would hope that the guests would've been more considerate to your needs. I'm sorry about that. As you can see from my other referrals I've never had this issue before. The two ladies staying there were in their late 80s and weren't about to give up their habit. Yes, the house was built in 1906 and the use of queen beds was not popular. A compromise made for living in a charming vacation rental home.

Great Place to Celebrate

This house is beautiful. It's a great combination of old character and updated modern convenience. It's spacious, clean, and comfortable. Our favorite was the sunroom with the colorful tile table, matching chairs, and views of the backyard. Also love the oversized master bedroom. All beds were so comfortable. Doug responds very promptly. Hoping to stay here again!

ABQ Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful time staying in this house! It was a walk down memory lane with friends and family by staying in this neighborhood. The house is centrally located and provided easy access to wherever in ABQ we wanted to go. The house is beautifully restored but still keeps the character of the original architecture and the neighborhood. We would love to stay here again next time we are in town!

Great house in a great location

The house is wonderful. It's very nicely appointed and equipped. The location is in a cool university neighborhood within walking distance of some great restaurants (I'm look at you El Patio). It's also a short drive from the airport, which is nice. The owner is very organized and responsive with lots of clear instructions and communications. On top of all that, there's wicked fast internet access. Highly recommend. Would rent again.

This was a great location for us! The house is amazing. Douglas was very accommodating when we had to reschedule our trip. The house is very roomy and clean. New appliances in kitchen and neat high ceilings throughout house that don’t show in photos of property. Lots of fun nooks when you need a moment to yourself. Neighborhood was quiet. We didn’t have time to utilize outside space but looks really nice. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We love this house!

This was the fourth time we have stayed at Doug's house on Silver in Albuquerque. My wife and I love the house: its design and layout, the amenities and features, the front and back yards, and just about everything else. The house's location, near the university, the airport, and two freeways is hard to improve on. The neighborhood is quiet, and we have always felt secure there. We hope to return again to this place and recommend it highly.

Silver Hill is a very unique property in that it has all the grandeur of a classy 1908 bungalow, high ceilings, wood floors, adorable yard, plus the very high end amenities. The best part is when the guests enter for the first time and go 'WOW!'. Everybody raves about their stay here.

The kitchen is a joy to cook and entertain from. The dining room opens up to a darling sun room that opens onto the back courtyard with grass and a large shade tree for great outdoor entertaining.
