We had a great stay at this lovely property. The woods behind the house was lovely and it was a perfect combination of remote feel with convenience to hiking and restaurants. It was easily the cleanest place we have ever stayed! The beds were comfortable and the layout of the house was perfect. We especially liked the guest mode on the Roku so that after a long day of hiking, we could pick up exactly where we had left off!
The house was clean, well stocked, and exactly what we needed for our stay. Ellen was so easy to communicate with and was quick to accommodate an emergency date change. We really enjoyed our stay there during our weekend Shenandoah State Park hiking trip.
This place was perfect for my cousin and I. We spent some time in the Shenandoah area hiking. The house was perfect. Very clean and had all the extras. We spent some time on the beautiful front porch. We would stay here again!
Very quiet and loved the porch! I was sad that the fire pit that was shown in the photos was unusable (we brought sâmores) and the water was tricky to adjust for good temps and pressure. Owners were incredibly responsive. It was very clean and a large space. Check in/out was very easy. Overall this was a great stay.
This property is outstanding as a livable, enjoyable, functional and family oriented destination. It was convenient to all our guests, the host was very thoughtful and gracious. The property was recently upgraded, well stocked, equipped and beyond our expectations. We will be keeping this property on our radar.
We had a great time visiting the National Park, kayaking, and checking out local businesses. The property was very clean and stocked. Extremely comfortable.
We loved our stay. The house was amazing, better than the pictures. It was so comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked. The porch was so comfortable and the best place for coffee in the morning. We cannot wait to come back!
Excellent place, absolutely loved our stay! Close enough to Shenandoah that e were able to get there easily each day, as well as have fun in the nearby towns ex visit a distillery and ice cream shop. Fully stocked kitchen and grill made cooking a breeze. And we loved eating outside when it wasn't raining. There's even a little hummingbird friend that visits the porch flowers each evening.
My parents and my husband and I stayed here on a recent trip to Shenandoah National Park. The house was sparkly clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor spaces were a real treat-we could sit outside in the afternoons after we got back and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Everything was well organized and very comfortable. Ellen is an excellent and thoughtful host.
This home was beautiful and as advertised. We enjoyed the views, the fire pit, and the nice walking path behind the house. Feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere, but anything you could ask for is within 5-6 miles. We visited Shenandoah National Park in mid October, and the colors were absolutely stunning. Highly recommend this gem of a home.
Great place to get away from hussle and bussle. Set back off the roads in the woods, easy access, close to town (10-20 min). We enjoyed our quiet stay here, house was fully equipped. Owner was responsive and in touch if we needed them. Plenty of room for us to hang out and spread out if we wanted to.
We visited a few wineries, antique shops, playgrounds, Meems Bottom Bridge, Rt 11 Chip Factory, and other things. Grocery stores within 20 minutes (Wal-Mart in Luray or Food Lion in Elkton).
We came for a few days to take kids to Massanutten. House was great! Owner was very helpful. Only recommendation would be to upgrade cable/satellite. No ESPN during bowl season makes for unhappy football fans.
Plenty of room (7 total for one of the nights) and nice outdoor space. Took many walks through the woods. We kept the fire pit going the whole weekend. We brought in food and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and serve a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Such a beautiful area of the country.
The property was a wonderful home set back from the road in the edge of the woods. It was very well kept, extremely well stocked & both comfortable & quiet. We found some interesting towns close by with some very good places to eat. It was a truely great place & a relaxing experience!
We chose to purchase this home because it is attached to family land. This rental property gets its name from this very transaction. We are the third couple in our family to own this lovely property.
This property is surrounded by the Blue Ridge and the Massanutten Mountains. The views in this area are amazing and the property itself is peaceful and relaxing. I love visiting Luray, Va., just 10 minutes up the road to walk main street and enjoy all of the antique shops.
