Primo Tapia is a quiet town but it's easy to get to Rosarita or Ensendada. There are nice bars and restaurants nearby (Splash, Lighthouse, The Shack). We didn't use the pool as the weather was a little chilly but the apartment was clean and bright, the staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a great stay.
Enjoyed our time, was amazing to wake up to the sound of waives. Had a little issue with the internet when we arrived but staff was helpful and we were able to resolve the issue
We LOVE LOVE our stay at The Casa Mar Verde!! The staff were so friendly and helpful! Our Villa and the property were immaculate and gorgeous. And the Beach access was definitely a convenient treat! I can't wait for our next visit!! Thank you Claudia & Enrique!!
The condo is actually nicer than the photos show. A beautiful view of the ocean. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. I needed a taxi a couple of times and they called for me and the taxis were there in less than 5 minutes. The grounds were very secure with a gate to keep your car safe.
The property is exactly as described online, but better because the view & sound of the ocean in person is unbelievable. I will stay here the next time we head down to Baja Norte. The kitchen is fully stocked, the space is spacious for 2 people, the grounds and the property are beautiful, and the staff is very helpful.
Here are a few things that will make your stay even better: most of the staff speaks english, but if you speak a little, basic spanish it will go a long way; the property is well-secured but sometimes you might need to wait a couple of minutes for someone to open the gate; this unit is on the third floor and there is not an elevator so if stairs are an issue, ask about some other options with fewer stairs.
This was our second stay at Casa Playa in Mar Verde. Our first was in Feb 2021 while many pandemic restrictions were still in place. Much more is open now but a mask is required for indoor shopping / passing through indoor space to outside dining.
The location and views cannot be be beat but come the usual quirks of Mexico. The staff goes above and beyond to make guest feel welcome.
Guests should note that the restaurant is not always open. Meals need to be requested in advance so the staff have time to buy groceries and prep. Minimal delay for a home cooked meal but plan in advance. There are plenty of restaurants near by too.
One caveat to our overall positive review of Casa Playa is that you cannot exit the property on foot or by car unless staff unlocks the gate. This made coming and going somewhat inconvenient at times.
Overall recommend staying here. The outdoor space dwarfs the indoor space (which is also well done) and the private deck with fire pit overlooking the ocean is priceless.
At first we got a smaller rental but decided to upgrade it looked good at first but once we noticed that the floors werenât swept or mopped we had four beds a king and a queen and two twin beds the two beds were not clean the sheets were very dirty when I pulled back the bedspread there was a bug in one of them I was about to put the baby down to sleep when I seen it it freaked me out how can I let a little baby that does not talk yet sleep in a bed thatâs not clean for what they charge they should clean it and make sure itâs clean when they rent it out that was my only complaint about the place we did have a good time once I got that taken care of the next day. If I go next time I will make sure that the place will be clean all around. And I never got a receipt when I asked for one there wasnât nobody to give me one so I still donât know what my total charge was at first they told me they didnât have paper for the printer and then when I went back when I checked out the manager had already went home donât understand how that is possible that you do not get a receipt when you check out everywhere Iâve been on vacation always had a receipt when I checked out hopefully theyâll send me one through email
My wife Kathryn & I and our beloved dog Molly were truly at home staying 3 months in the penthouse suite at Casa Playa Baja Resort. We were made to feel so very welcome, Dave and his wonderful team of staff were accommodating and helpful. Olga served us some amazing dinners including octopus fresh from Popotla and Hector makes the best margaritas ever! Our dog Molly was treated with love and we felt very safe at all times. During the week we found it a quiet place to work with great wifi and beautiful beachwalks and sunsets. On the weekend we'd light a fire, have a bbq and make friends with the new folks that arrived. Staying at Casa Playa Baja has been a beautiful chapter of our lives that we will remember fondly and hope to return one day soon. We highly recommend and promise to tell all our friends xxx
This is a beautiful property, check in was easy and quick, A GATE GUARD WOULD BE NICE, instead of waiting for someone to see you and open the gate. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. Management personnel are courteous and attentive to your inquiries. IN MY OPINION, ROAD BUMPS INSIDE COMPLEX SHOULD BE PAINTED YELLOW FOR EASY VIEW TO HELP OUT CLUMSY PPL LIKE MYSELF, I TRIPPED TWICE. Access to the beach is just a few steps from the houses. Each home has it's own terrace with spectacular views that we enjoyed very much. Having our own grill and burning pit was nice too. Ocean views from inside the home were spectacular as well. Home was clean and welcoming. LIVING ROOM WINDOWS NEEDED CLEANING TO BETTER APPRECIATE THE VIEW. Bed was comfortable and clean BUT I COULD'VE USED AN ACTUAL BLANKET, RATHER THAN JUST SHEETS, MY TRAVEL BLANKET SAVED ME. I COULD'VE ALSO USED A LARGE MIRROR, THERE IS ONLY ONE SMALL WALL MIRROR IN THE BATHROOM. Waking up to the sound of the ocean, rolling up the shade and being able to appreciate the ocean view while still in bed is priceless!! I loved the ceiling shower head in the bathroom. The kitchen had everything we needed, we enjoyed cooking breakfast while enjoying the ocean view. This home is very airy and open, has windows in every room with beautiful views. Overall we loved this one bedroom casita and we had a very pleasant stay. WE WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN, AND RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS.
Overall a nice place. Did not care much for location, at end of neighborhood. Loved the view. Would appreeciate knowing when do i get my deposit back. Have not yet recieved it.
Les points faibles : Communication et emplacement
From a dream to a nightmare
The place is really nice and I wish we didn't have to be writing this but unfortunately we have to.
We left all the doors locked with keys and we thought we were in a trust worthy place however after a full day of being out we came back to a room that clearly someone came in. They took one of our cell phones and also some cash we had left in the room. There is no other explanation than someone with access was the person who did this. Also, when we went to the reception nothing was done. We didn't receive any type of compensation but they didnt even show any interest in trying to help or making it right.
The room was disgusting, unsafe, door could not lock, broken glass found in the place inside
We checked in and immediately noticed that the place was filthy dirty, pieces of glass found inside and outside. Front door did not lock. We then spoke with the owner and informed him about the issues. He said we would get a full refund. Two days later we still are fighting to get our money back. This place is completely unsafe to stay at!!! COVID exposure was a main concern.
We live in Baja California and love the relaxed beach community lifestyle. Interests are: travel, surfing, beach, tennis, art, music and visiting local markets. We enjoy having visitors from all over the world and we love to show warm Mexican hospitality. (mi casa es su casa!)
